A new video every weekday until the start of Euro 2024!
If you enjoy, please help this series flourish by leaving a like!
One clarification: These were written and recorded heavily in advance so lineups/squad predictions may be slightly off track. Fortunately though as I have written these in chronological order, the further the series goes on, the less errors there should be. My apologies for any wrong info, but understandably, making 24 videos to come out of 32 days, while working full-time, takes it toll. Enjoy the series!
Let me know your thoughts down below ⬇️

With the German team it always comes down to the team spirit. I would say that it's more important than the quality of the individual players. Big nations like Germany always have quality players on every position that can play fantastically when they are in the right state of mind.
I have the feeling that it will be a good tournament for Germany.

In terms of the lineup, instead of Ter Stegen, Neuer will probably return to goal. Kimmich will 100% play right back, he played almost the entire second half of the season there for Bayern with world class results, he also played there for the last international break. In dm next to kroos it's gonna be Robert Andrich from Leverkusen he's had a great season and also started for germany as dm last international break. Gündogan might move out of the starting 11 because he hasn't performed that well in the national team, if fit leroy sane might start instead or Chris Fürich from Stuttgart might start on the left with Wirtz moving to the center. Up front is relatively undecided and might switch regarding the team they are playing against and the tactics they are going for, but the options are Havertz who as you mentioned hasn't performed that well for Germany but nevertheless started the last 2 games, Füllkrug who's probably the most number 9 style striker we have or the currently best performing german striker Deniz Undav from Stuttgart with 18 goals and 9 Assists in the Bundesliga.

Sane is usless in his present form. He never had the robust mentality you need for this sport. That has not changed since ManCity. He hasn't scored nationally since Ocober, he wastes every clear goal scoring opportunity and loses the ball way too often. And he is injured, too. So why even consider him? Because of his potential? I cannot remember how many times I wanted to smash my screen with the keyboard just because he missed another sitter, dribbled himself senseless or lost the ball in another stupid way. And lastly, if he is injured, don't bloody play him. In the away game against Madrid he gave the ball away right after kickoff and was invisible for all the time he was on the field.

Not a bad video, I don't think you have been paying attention much to what Nagelsmann has been saying or doing though.
Your Starting Eleven is way off. If there are no injuries between now and the start of the tournament it will look like this:
    GK - Neuer
    LB - Mittelstädt
    CB - Rüdiger
    CB - Tah
    RB - Kimmich
    CM - Kroos
    CM - Andrich
    CAM - Gündoğan
    LW - Wirtz
    CF - Havertz
    RW - Musiala
    1) Neuer will 110% be first choice Goalkeeper.
    2) Kimmich will be at RB and not in Midfield.
    3) Kroos and Andrich will play centrally as a double pivot with Andrich playing the more defensive role.
    4) Wirtz and Musiala will play a hybrid LM/LW and RM/RW role.
    5) Gündoğan will be roaming more free in a more attacking role.
    6) Füllkrug will likely never start. If Germany are looking for goals late in the game expect Füllkrug and Müller to be substituted on.
Opinion: Not selling Undav or Beier short and I hope Nagelsmann proves me wrong; but, I would have liked to have seen more experienced proven ST/CF options selected like Werner, Götze, Volland, Reus, Kleindienst as examples.

Hey, I just want to clarify something. The planning for these videos has taken a long time and as this was the first one, it was written on March 15th and recorded shortly after, before the spring international window. At this stage, Nagelsmann team selections in the November window had been vastly different to what we now know. I used those recent results, as well as a few websites in the know (Squawka, FourFourTwo etc) to assess what the starting 11 may be.
Obviously now I know I was off by quite the distance which is a shame. Fortunately the later ones were written and recorded later, as well as the fact I still have half to edit, so information should be more and more correct.

From my limited time being a football fan, I've learned to never count out the Germans. After a piss poor Euro 2000, they somehow managed to get to the World Cup final in 2002. They then had a poor Euro 2004, only to do very well at home soil in 2006. Whilst I agree that the lack of a great number 9 might hurt them, I think their biggest problem is the fullback situation. Mittelstadt and Heinrichs don't fill me with confidence, Kimmich doesn't want to play rb, Gosens is more of a wing-back used in a back 3 formation. They were overrun on the wings against Japan at both WC2022 and at the friendly you mentioned. That might happen again against some better wingers in the latter stages of the competition

I respectfully disagree with your opinion here. Germany does indeed have very good Bundesliga or international strikers now. Füllkrug is having a very good season in the Champions League with Dortmund, Havertz is one of the best players for Arsenal, and he now plays as a number 9. Undav is having a very good season with Stuttgart, and there are also Marvin Duksch and Mai Beier as other good strikers. It's also worth noting that many nations don't have super strikers better than the German ones, perhaps only England with Harry Kane. France plays with Thuram as a striker, and I can tell you that he's not really better than Füllkrug or Havertz.
Kimmich now plays as a right-back and no longer as a defensive midfielder. Additionally, Germany has many other great players like Ter Stegen, Ortega, Schlotterbeck, Raum, Andrich, Pavlovic, Führich, Adeyemi, Gnabry, Sané, Can, Hofmann, Thiaw, and many others. For these reasons, I believe Germany should at least reach the final and try to win the tournament.
As for why Germany hasn't achieved good results lately, I can also say that both Löw and Flick experimented a lot because they didn't know how to best utilize the players. Nagelsmann has understood this and no longer experiments, which is why we could see against France and the Netherlands how strong the German team really is. In the World Cup in Russia, Germany was overconfident, which led to their elimination. At the Euros, they lost to England in London, but Germany didn't play worse than the eventual finalists. In the World Cup in Qatar, Germany had some bad luck, even though they played very well and created many chances.
However, I am confident that they will play successfully this time around.
