- Today we're shopping at 3 different Lowe's to see what new varieties of houseplants they have. Also a quick pit stop at Walmart bc I can't pass up on seeing their houseplants either hehe

I hope someday that the big box stores begin to offer more of the unusual Sansevierias that are out now just like they have started to show with other plants. When I mostly want to add to my Snake Plant collection, I have to go to places like Esty who offers so many different kinds of these plants. But it sure would be great and convenient to see them more at these others stores.

The ficus was an “Altissima”! It was a wishlist plant and I found a small one at H‑E‑B for $5!

Be sure to repot your trebuii in a well draining soil. The coconut coyer that Costa uses will hold too much water. The trebuii are extremely sensitive to moisture. I almost lost mine from Walmart due to root rot and I found a few other plant CZcamsrs advising the same. My plant is recovering but I lost a lot of foliage.
That is the first thing I thought when I saw the soil it was in 😫 I’m glad your plant is recovering as long as you don’t lose it 💚

the only time 1 time i saw a micans at a lowes it was dead and not even on the clearance rack! wth!! 😮aww I'm so sorry your air plants got blown away!! yes that was a purple waffle plant, you know watchu talking bout😂. do you have an orchid care video? would love to start collecting them but know how to make them flower, to be able to enjoy the flower
My grandma bought an anthurium in one of those tiny decorative pots with moss on top for “decoration”…she nearly rotted it completely through not understanding how much moisture that moss would hold 😬 the pot didn’t have any drainage either. Costa farms and whoever else definitely set you up to fail 😔 and unfortunately 99% of these stores put the plants out when they get a new shipment and then don’t even look at them unless a manager happens to tell an associate to water them (which they will usually do incorrectly). I’ve also been starting to see things labeled “succulents” that definitely aren’t- Marantas, Hoyas, Peperomia…There are some good finds for sure but you really need to know what you’re looking at!
My PoO is always orange in it's new growth. They grow well for me too.
My Walmart NEVER has healthy looking plants or the variety that yours does...so disappointing. Love to go plant shopping with you!

I just got a really full Raphidophora for $4.74 at my local Walmart! 🥰 it’s so beautiful!!
Sorry to hear your tillandsia blew away! Did you know… You can hot glue them to pretty much any surface? Including trees or wood/rocks. You can even glue a little bit of sphagnum moss (dry), around the base of the plant, for a little “cushioning” lol

Also, you mentioned bird of paradise looking like a banana. Guess what?! Lol 💁🏼♂️My mind is blown. I just found out on Wikipedia… the plant Order Zingiberales includes all genera of prayer plant, banana, ginger, galangal, turmeric, Birds of Paradise, heliconia AKA lobster claw, cardamom, and more. I knew they had to be related!! 🤯😇

The fern you saw in Walmart is a kangaroo paw fern! :) Great fern for someone looking to get into to ferns. Very hardy and lovely when they mature. If you like orchids look at the Elizabeth Ann Buckley orchid. I have one and the flowers are out of this world!

@@ErikaLodes Excellent!!! I got a cheap plastic salad bowl from the dollar store, drilled holes in the sides and bottom, did levels of orchid bark and moss and slow release orchid fertilizer balls on top and found a nice pot and it has done so very well in filtered light. Hope you get one!!! :)

Not in Cincinnati, they literally have not enough people to work the garden area so our plant selection here is the worst. Home depot is the #1 worst

@@ErikaLodes Fittonia are so easy though. Just water every X amount of days. In my case 3 days before they droop.

Got my plant shop for the week! Been real hit or miss lately at various stores and locations. Some plant types or varieties I just can't grow however. All part of the learning process. 🪴 🌿
