The hoops we jump through just to wear this garment we love. 😂
I did not think about using the clips and not adjusting the buckle. Thank you for this information.
Good advice. If I'm going to only be driving for a few minutes I don't bother moving my sporran. If it is a longer trip, I'll wear my smallest sporran and slide it around to the side on the strap.
Yes, I close the door, then slide it into the crevice beside the seat. I just have a full length of chain, no strap.
I'd not noticed the sporran strap before. I like that idea, and really dislike the chains. I usually wear a sporran that uses the scissor clips and have it attached to the belt loops in the front, but I have a couple of kilts that don't have belt loops in the front, so i don't wear them very often (again, I loathe the chains). I snagged the strap, a set of hangers, and the large belt pouch, which also solves my "your sporran is too large to be allowed into this sport venue" problem I have (any sporran that comfortably fits my phone is too large... ugh).
Am I missing something. I've never had a problem with a sporran while driving.
+USAKiltsOfficial *Thanks for the stylist perspective.* My ID necklace went right under the seat belt - fruuuustratin'. The seat belts in my favored cars and trucks will probably clear a Day or Semi-Dress _Sporran_ on the right drop chain.
It's never bothered me when wearing a sporran while driving, been wearing a kilt while driving since I was 21.
If I'm wearing a belt with my kilt, I have my sporran chain tucked under my belt in back, so the only thing the tongue can scratch is the inside of the belt.
I leave mine on for short drives, but on a long drive I take it off.
Should imagine wearing full armour while driving is also a challenge. 😂. I bet driving a car was more of a challenge when kilts were invented.
Easy, leave the sporran till you need it, no one will notice or even care. Drive to be safe and confortable.
