  • Midnight Skies as I love to call this glaze combo us one of my favourites and go to combos. Using obsidian celadon as a background glaze then putting Smokey Merlot gives a wonderful maroon hue. Go a stage further by putting oatmeal on top you get blues maroons and purples.
I always think it looks like a mountain range at night.
Hope you enjoy. And please message me. I love to hear from you.

Very instructive video. Had to use subtitles and slow the speech in order to understand but found it most helpful. Thank you for doing these educational videos!

Glad it was helpful!. I’m not sure why you felt the speech was fast. Did you watch it on double time ?? I’ve just checked and it sounds at normal rate to me. Thanks for the comment.

@@LoisHook It is your British accent that makes it difficult for my American ears to understand. But no worries, between the subtitles and slowing down the verbal, I am able to understand all that you say!

Than you. I am struggling to get going again. A lot happened last year that was very difficult. But my husband broke his back in December. He had to have the top vertebrae pinned with two 10 inch titanium rods and I has been a serious journey. Mentally pottery needs a place back in my heart and I’m working very hard to get that back. These were filmed last October I would say. So still not there yet.

Thank you Lois for the great video! I find your video very informative. I too would have painted black, or used underglaze on the very bottom rim. I know it would bother me every time I used the goblet. 😊

Lois, so lovely to see you back. I have a question. When you did the dish set for your brother, you showed us several combinations, especially with toasted sage. Would you mind letting me know if toasted sage always went of first, or the other color used went on first. Im trying to duplicate some of the colors. Thank you
