For me, this is one of the coolest designs that came down the line. Fond memories.
Everyone I think has a soft spot in their hearts for this vehicle!
Wish I had the patience to do this.... Pays to be a perfectionist... Beautiful!!
Bravo! Bravo my friend! A true masterpiece! The detail to the engine! Over the top!!!!!!!!!!!!
Nice build
Nice build 👍

Curse you Red Baron!
Great job! Love that red!
Color came out great. Thanks for watching!

Another great PLASMO build. Love that red. Good job spraying the Molotow chrome, looks awesome.
Now that is a real compliment...
Once again Pauly a masterpiece exellant color matching looks just like the little one job well done
Thank you so much....
That is really tight. I love it.
Thanks Randy. What would you like to see next?
OMG I LOVE IT, one of my favorite cars. 👍🏻🔥🤘🏻
One of my first builds as a 'kid' in the 70's !!!
looks awesome.
Good save... she looks great

Very nice Pauly. The yellowing gives it character.

Beautiful job Paul, I have (2) of the redbarons, HotWheels chrome version & a Tom Daniels 1:48 scale model. I would love to get a 1:8 scale model of this car that would be neat to display. You handle the problems with it very well, watching you tackle the models, is informative & educational, job well done.Take care Paul😎👍👍👍🚗
Thanks Jeff
Ok,,this is the first time seeing you,,I'm impressed,, some people say perfectionist, I say if it ain't right, it ain't right,do it over till it's right,,if something doesn't line up right it just beetles the juice out of me,and oh yeah I just subscribed,, I'll be watching, thanks for the entertainment
I like the detailing you did on the engine....
Excellent video & job building your Monogram Red Baron kit! Thanks too for bringing back fond memories as I built this kit many, many years ago!
My pleasure! I'm also happy to announce I'm getting back to my Rommel's Rod build, so keep an eye out for that!
Love it awesome thanks 👍
awesome, you did a great job
I love my Tom Daniel builds!
Keep up the models mixed in with the diecast! It was awesome!
kool , thanx....She's a winner...very nice paint...neat one , Rock onnn Pauly
Robert
I just checked my 2009 version of this kit and It's good as far as the chrome on the helmet top is concerned. Thank goodness!
You are lucky then - Leave it as is!!!
Awesome work paul, you saved what can what can sometimes be old & problematic kits, looks a million dollars, can't wait to see Rommel's rod now, keep up your exceptional work, cheers
Thanks for watching Malcom....
Good job looks great
You are a dam genius how you did the helmet in chrome, this is the first time I have seen your technique done. I have seen multiple videos of people trying to do chrome with a black base coat and silver and I lost hope of making the chrome look, you gave me hope of being able to do some awesome customs using your method. Thanks for sharing
It really came out good and a bit more in scale if you ask me....
Nice job well done buddy.
I built that model somewhere in the late 60's when I was 9 or 10. Mine didn't come out as well as this one. :)
That is so funny I watch the video about halfway through fell asleep and had to re-watch it but I'm sure that it was much easier than having to take it all apart and redo it
Paul it's gorgeous! Best looking model of it I've ever seen and I've seen some really nice ones. All the hard work paid off big time.
Thanks Drew....
A few comments - - when you use the panel liner, have a slightly damp paint brush on hand to 'wick away' the excess liner. This works for any watered-down paints affected by capillary action (the spilling that affected you in the video), and might save you time from repainting.
You'd be amazed at how well some really good tweezers can help you with model parts I bought some electronics tweezers from Amazon, and they really hold onto small parts.
There's a website for Hot Wheels redline restorers called redlineshop.com who have paints that have recreated the old spectraflame paints and even have a basecoat paint for the metallic effects.
I've been looking at chrome paints, and my research has led to a an Asian brand Modo, whose Mk-09 Super Chrome has the best chrome out of an airbrush, and there are some sets that include a basecoat and possibly a clearcoat. I have seen from videos on CZcams where airbrushed chrome looks better if it is buffed with a lint free cloth after drying.
I'm gonna have to give super chrome a look!!
Great result with that choice of color and all. I've looked around but it remains a mystery as to why the most well known plastic model car kit in the world, has not been made available for years... I must have bought the last one in North America, because I don't see any for sale anywhere.
Hey Paul, guess you liked to build this model so much, you did it two or three times. I'm sure the first time you did it would probably be about the best I could do. You have patience like nobody else I've ever seen. I'd be throwing that car up against the wall. I like how you Spectra-flamed the body. Hot Wheels should have done that right away, with the first releases they had. Anyway nice job, I really like the color. The color of the helmet, Chrome, is my favorite color.
looks great, wish mine did not lok like they came out a demo derby every time I completed one
LOL...
Because you added the yellow plug wires, the yellowing of the decal looks intended. Whats ironic is that adding a detail at one point to complement similar or same detail(s) at another point is called modeling...
Well said...
Sorry to say Paul, I'm not a great fan of these Red Barons, in whichever scale. That doesn't mean though, that I don't appreciate the craftsmanship in this build. The plug wires seem to have lifted it from a plastic kit to a scale model ~ they look great. You did a lovely job on the paint; very interesting to see Molotov Chrome fired through the airbrush. I've only seen this done once before; I think it was Will Pattison that did it.
I'm looking forward to Rommel's Rod; that should be a great build.👍
Cheers for now,🍻
Dougie.
Hey, everyone has a wheel house, so no problem....
You ought to put in a display case....
Probably will...
Great point you made on being present and do more than just test fit. I think what is what I had a problem with. How did you remove the paint with damaging the model?
Super Clean Baby!!!!
I just saw a vid on an life size Red Baron. Actually, the engine smoked like Willie Nelson's bus after a show.
There are a few out there. I actually used them for some research....
@@pauly7218 The engine that is supposed to be used is quite rare in real life. it's actually a pontiac motor
I was wondering if you could spray Molotow chrome through an airbrush. Looks like you nailed it. Great build Paul.
Go fast and wet!
I am curious have you ever created a video showing how to troubleshooting issues(problems) with model builds and how to fix them?
No, but I am now working on fixing a major screwup on the Revell GATO Submarine. Maybe I'll also do a more general one too....
@@pauly7218 are you doing a video on fixing a major screwups you mentioned? I would love to see a video your process from screwup to fixed.
Great job Paul. I've been looking forward to this ever since you announced you were going to build it. Will you be making a little diorama (or vignette) to go with it like you did for the Boot Hill Express?
Not this one. Perhaps Rommel's Rod....
I have a 1/24 scale 1963 Cadillac series 62 that need refurbishing it is a Jada model some of the chrome bits are missing but for the most part the car is all there how do I go about refurbishing it to a new car
Great work, I ruined at least two of these as a kid. Where do you get the distributor cap?
Paul are you of Greek decent? 🇬🇷. Great job on those classic kits. Bravo.
Lithuanian!!!
Dear pauly7218 I watched your video on the red Baron and you was talk about stripping chrome. I know a real quick way to do it won't hurt your plastic I used it on vintage transformer toy left it in there for months and no harm to the plastic. And it will only take about less than five seconds maybe 10 seconds it is a spray bottle of cleaner with bleach in it and it just takes chrome right off of your plastic. Next time give that a try if you need strip some chrome. I enjoy watching your videos and you don't have by real expensive stuff I bought some from Kmart couple years back for dollar a bottle I'm customizing a G.I. Joe vehicle and I was using some pieces from a crane and was painted chrome I put him the bleach cleaner I just turn around and it was clean all the chrome was gone and it was like I don't know how long it was I had a video on it but took it down until CZcams get this mess straightened up.
Shouldn't there be an airplane with it?
Why did you remove the crome then replayed crome don't make anyscence
What, you didn't want to build the mini-plane that came with the kit?
I though I might use it in a scene, but not sure now....
Paul there's a new company out there making the re pops I'll send you one and a couple days that your Christmas present
That would be great. Hey, based on your thoughts about my Flashsider, please give me comments this Saturday. It's different, but I respect your opinion and would love to hear it on this coming video....
