- Located just outside the Tsukuba Circuit grounds, I must have passed by Koshimizu Motorsports a thousand times over the years. It was about time I stopped by and took a look. Koshimizu-san has been working on AE86s since they first came out and now spends most of his time restoring them to perfect like-new creations. An N2 racer himself it’s no surprise Keiichi Tsuchiya leaves his TRD N2 race car at KMS! Enjoy the video!

Te27 content please 🙏
What a find!!! I’m shocked to see there are still craftsman shops in Japan that do this type of detailed work. Good share Dino
wdym ?? he is always filming insane shops
Sometimes I am not sure if every viewer can appreciate the cars which we see / got presented and if they realize what is shown in your videos
It is often difficult to find good material from these mechanical workshops, but Dinno takes us to these amazing places.
Keep up the work Dinno and greetings from Brazil!
Many thanks!
Please Always more AE86 content on the channel! Would love to hear one of the active guys running N2 on a walk through their cars and mods in detail ^_^
It is the most famous AE86 in the world. I always hoped that it would end up in Drift King possession!
Amazing ti see it again!
Damn, So jealous always wanted to see this shop and car but it never worked out, excellent video as always guys!
Thanks Neil! Definitely worth stopping by on your next trip, I’m sure he’d pull it out for you.
Love all these shop tours. Always fun to see. Love the passion and quality that comes out of these small shops.
Seeing this video and seeing how this guy brings ae86 back to life after accidents makes me want to donate my ae86 to him so he can bring that to life and see it on the road once again. Speaking of today is 5 years after that accident 😢
Absolutely amazing video as always. It is such a cool learning experience seeing all of these the shops the rest of the world has never heard of
As a AE86 Levin owner since 2001, this video is incredible, thank you so much! That N2 is a piece of history and that shop is stuff of dreams, greetings from Portugal😃
Pleasure to hear that
I have literally had enough of 86s and DC does this . Bravo 👌
Am just being honest here.. for me, your content is one of thee best if not the best 🔥. The music tho! Man… choices are spot on ❤
Absolutely, DINO HAS NO COMPETITION
Yes that’s absolutely right!! Like he’s in a different level 🌪️
@@shadow-fq7nk LEVELS ABOVE EVERYONE
Thanks so much!
Really appreciate it!
Man those shop tours are simultaneously relaxing and exciting!!!Thank you so much Mr. Carbonare!!!!!
One love❤
Wow. Amazing. A follow up video interviewing him would be great to hear n2 stories. Specifications. Etc.
Fantastic.
Always good when there is an 86
Amazing! I love these garage tours!
The one they've all been waiting for 🤤
*but didn't know it..
Another great vid. I had a little look around KMS after leaving attack Tsukuba in Feb. Very cool place.
Glad to see that Koshimizu still owns this car even after Sakurai’s passing. Those pedals were actually used in the 90s-spec JGTC Supras!! Also, I believe when the car had last ran in Tsuchiya’s hand (2007, HV Vol. 86), the FA engine suddenly ran irregularly which was caused by a broken crankshaft, which was told to be a TRD USA unit and considered rare/no longer existed. KMS opt’d to help them and gave them a spare engine and they also did the re-tune to prepare for the N2 race that time.
It must be getting really hard to find parts for these great cars, its great to see these shops keeping them alive.
Another great tour, as a tech I appreciated the well lit shop and good space between each project. But was surprised at the paint booth with out either a down or updraft venting.
Nice to see folks restoring these to a high level. When I lived in Sagamihara my neighbor had a very interesting AE86 coupe in his driveway that had a full cage, stripped out interior, could have easily been a show car and race car at one point. He worked for a shop that had built cars for Tokyo auto salon but did not mention the name. His car had not moved in years though.
02:30 Has that "kneel before me" vibe 😮
You can never have enough Hachi content
Great find! That shop has so much character! The atmosphere is tangible even through a computer screen. He's doing a fine deed working on and restoring densetsu Hachi Roku ;) The Blacktop 20 Valve swap is where it's at for me mainly because that's my engine so it was a treat to see it done there ;) Arigato Koshimizu-san!
AMAZING! PLEASE PLEASE KEEP IT COMING DINO!
I see "Drift King's Hidden N2 AE86" and I immediately click! 😆 Love these insider tours, Dino...keep em coming!
Glad you like them!

This video just made my day. You're appreciated so much Kms. Thanks for showing us the real deal N2 Hachiroku. 🙌🙌🙌
That’s awesome! Definitely a shop I’d like to visit on my next trip to Japan. I love these AE86 specialty shops, I visited two this summer and each one brought a big smile to meh face ❤
What a beautiful machine.
I passed by this shop in May this year and was blown away by seeing such an oldschool shop doing 86s next to a racetrack. Little did I know that they have Keiichis car there 😢😅
Omg.. this place is sacred grounds. I would love to have a level of craftsmanship and those set of skills here in the U.S!! URAYAMASHII~~~
Thank you for this video 🙏

Literally my dream us to have these guys restore and build a car for me. lol.
Ae86 heaven
Great video, more hachi content please!
More to come!
Cool. Did just pass this garage! like the art of how nature have grown out of proportion on some of the shed. Ye we took some pictures and also thought about what's inside. Always do in Japan! Cool to see. Thanks. Ps. Answer my friends question on if there are ante gti-r Experts in Japan :) take care my friend!
GTI-Rs? Can’t say I’ve come across any, any SR specialist would be though
@@dino_dc Cool. Thanks for fast reply. For curiosity do you know a shop where I can find os giken clutchs? Was to slow ordering from autobacks. Did not know that's the way here in Japan so they could not help me in due time. Going home 26.09 so don't have the best time... would be grateful for any help. :) (going back from F1 to Tokyo later today)
I always wondered if his original n2 ae86 was scrapped but I was wrong. I'd love to hear the story why this car was put in storage. Kinda sad tsuchiya used another 86 instead of reviving and upgrading this gem like he did to his street 86.
I wonder how difficult it is to find other parts for the AE86’s nowadays in Japan. By the way Dino, I also wonder if you are going to feature Kamata-san’s tech arts shop that also specializes in AE86’s in your YT channel. Hoping to see more shops getting featured in your channel and by the way nice content once again Dino.
Yep definitely 👍🏻
Wooow 😊😊😊😊
You are amazing 👏 l love fixing cars , because i like fix my own car by myself.
If , i said if , you can find some workshops working on the legend Toyota and lexus engine ( 1UZFE ) V8 VVTI or non VVTI , its OK .
I will be very appreciate .
Moar!!
🤯
Dino you're making me want to spend more money
Haha
😎👍
👍🏻
It seems it's not the latest N2 AE86 DK has. This is most likely an older model but I would say much more iconic than the recent one.
It is a great shame there are no more AE86 N2 races anymore.
Correct. Car Factory Ai maintains Tsuchiya-sans current N2 car. It runs a 20v with FCR carbs. Juiceboxforyou did a walk thru video of their shop a few years ago showing it in more detail.
@@andrewcowden9704 I am very surprised that it runs on carbs, considering it's making around 240hp.
But this is the original ae86 from the trd sakurai era right?
@julzcadz2923 I believe so based on what Dino showed compared to original HV N2 videos
I broke my rx8 engine and cant have any one to fix it the back rotor break so im swapping the engine to a sr20de but i need some help with it
Go for a 13B
Toyota should just start making all the parts again lol
Original engine was not a Formula Atlantic and there are no 300hp NA 4ages. A 300HP 4age would be 35 HP more than the highest rated Atlantic ever build. Maybe you meant to say 200HP.
Are u italian?
Yes 👍🏻
300 hp??????!!!!!!!!!
