Quick question Mr. Decertator, how does one go about being good at tenors so that they can play them next year? Because auditions are kind of soon and id like to be able to play tenors, because they seem fun What im asking for here are tips if you have any Thanks
I am by no means a good tenor player, but if I could give you a few things to focus on: Playing zones Timing (play with a met) Diddle quality Quick and good transitions between drums (move at the elbow, don't flip your wrists) A good exercise to practice is to play triplets straight up and down at a tempo you are comfortable with and progressively push it as you become ready. Something along the lines of 3:25 Quick warning, tenors are heavy, so be prepared for your back to suffer

@@Decertator ive been placed on tenors for a showcase or something, wore em for 2.5 hours yesterday and also learned a cadence, my back and legs are on fire but im sure ill get used to it. Thanks for the tips, my playing zones and movement between drums are much better now
