Easily the best Kalyani Alapana I have ever heard in my life! I am lucky and grateful that I am able to listen to this music, enjoy it again and again. These musicians are not humans! I don't know who they or where they came from!!! KSG sir has carved a permanent place for himself in my heart.
An amazing Kalyani Alapanaa. Beautiful slow unhurried construction of the ragam. A good guidebook on how to develop the raga. Contains the standard kalyani phrases and a lot of manodharma around them. The violonist (I presume) points this out at the end of the alapanaa, calling it "rombha osathiyaana kalyani". Thank you for this recording.
Every master pieces of phrases (swara prasthArams) were well acknowledged by the great Violin maestro Sri Chandrasekar Sir. KSG sir allways present every Raha with perfect nuances and great clarity. What a Mellodious KalyAni. Thanks for uploading this.
