    Not British but I gotta admit this looks pretty damn cool even with the old footage. She looks like a great leader and those guards look professional and on Point. What an amazing tradition

    The cool thing is the medals she wears in uniform - the royal family orders of her grandfather and father, and her WWII service medals. Ones she "earned" and were hers, not The Crowns.

    • @Afif.anNayem.asSalafi
      @Afif.anNayem.asSalafi Před rokem

      No one wears medals without having earned them in service. Everyone of the royal family has served in active duty in the military, they only wear medals they'd earned. That's another thing that makes the British Royals special.

    • @sithlordofoz
      @sithlordofoz Před rokem

      @@Afif.anNayem.asSalafi not everyone - some have medals without having been in the armed forces - Earl of Wessex quit the Royal Marines before finishing basic, the Princess Royal only has honorary commands and rank.

    • @Afif.anNayem.asSalafi
      @Afif.anNayem.asSalafi Před rokem

      @@sithlordofoz they as active duty Royals are attached with military units, the medals they wear are unit citations. Some of them are given to them by units they visited as part of Royal duties. I've been there mate, I know this as a fact. Also, some of the medals they wear aren't military medals at all, they are granted to them by the monarch by way of their entitlement. Some are pendants representative of certain charities and organisations. Long story short, they don't wear them unless they have legitimate connections. The Earl of Wessex for example wears jubilee medals and honorary forces medals given to him by the respective forces. He has earned them! He doesn't wear any medal that he has not earned. Same goes for Princess Royal. I am not a Brit by the way, I am from the Commonwealth, I was in the military myself that's all, both in my country and in the UK in the reserve when I was in Uni there. I 100% guarantee you the servicemen agree with me on this.

    • @sithlordofoz
      @sithlordofoz Před rokem

      @@Afif.anNayem.asSalafi that's cute. My family has for five generations been Soldiers of the Queen. And the medals worn by HRH The Princess Royal and HRH The Earl of Wessex aren't "earned" in the same way as those worn by The Dukes of York (active service in the Falklands War) and Sussex (Afghanistan) or even HM The Queen (WWII) or HRH Duke of Edinburgh (also WWII). All the medals worn by the first two are "honourary" as they aren't active service medals. Being your mum's son or daughter isn't earning a medal (although maybe your mum deserves one - but then only if she hadn't raised such a wet blanket).

      See 1:25 in the video for the moment when 6 shots were fired directly at the queen (you can hear them on the video). Actually they were only blank bullets but the noise unsettled the queen's horse, though she kept control. Look behind the queen in the crowd and you can see a guard pulling the teenager who'd fired the shots over the barrier. See news.sky.com/story/1710224/guard-i-saw-shots-being-fired-at-queen for a recent interview with that guard.
