For all of those who are interested and have NO clue about Enzo:
He did his formation at River Plate school of Football (probably best in Latin America), along side for example: Julian Alvarez, they are really good friends.
At 18 he made his debut with the first team and played only a few games before being sent on loan to Defensa y Justicia (from now on DyJ).
To call DyJ a small club is an understatement, they got promoted to the first league in 2014 for the very first time in their existance, they'd never won a title.
Enzo came... and he made an immediate impact leading them to their first international and overall titles, copa Sudamericana (Europa League equivalent) and Recopa Sudamericana (European Supercup equivalent) beating the Libertadores (CL equivalent) Champions Palmeiras of Brazil and Enzo was THE KEY player in this historic run for this club. River plate quickly dragged him by his nose back to them... and he made an immediate impact there, taking complete ownership of the midfield and providing performances that made journalists and fans demand that he gets called to the national team, which seemed very unlikely given that Argentina was enjoying an unbeaten run and the midfield was unmovable, but I'll come back to that.
By this time, Benfica had already taken noticed (they later claimed they had already discovered him while at DyJ. I think Europe should learn from Benfica scouts man), so Enzo couldn't even finish a season at River plate because Benfica offered 10mil to buy 75% of Enzo's pass.
And so he came to Benfica... and he made an immediate impact there too, being named best Midfielder in Portugal 3 months in a row the first 3 months he played there!! at this point I should mention he is a complete midfielder, he defends like the best DMs out there, and with the ball he can be riquelme or fabregas. The stats alone (which don't tell the whole story) are crazy, by far the player with the most forward passes in the opposition half, he makes all types of passes you can think of, he is a ball winner, look at the PSG game how he dispossed Verrati, Neymar even Mbappe of the ball like he is Kante, oh and he can score!! In all the games I've seen him I think I saw him lose the ball less than 5 times overall! if I say 5 I'm exaggerating. At the WC he lost the ball once, and another time in the final but he immediately got it back from Griessman who lost the duel against Enzo the whole game, that's why he was subbed.
His performances at Benfica were so undeniable Scaloni HAD to call him to the National team, even though his position was taken by fixed starter Paredes (who played even more than Messi for Arg in the last 4 years) and his natural sub Guido Rodriguez. As you know, we lost to Saudi Arabia, Paredes wasn't fit. Second game Guido started, wasn't working, Enzo came on... AND HE MADE AN IMMEDIATE IMPACT! During the WC of all places! he never left the pitch after that and was name Young player of the tournament. He is 21 years old! I've never seen in my 40 years a guy's career sky rocket like this, and we produce talents EVERY YEAR.
Now that I think about it, he only ever finished a season with DyJ, he didn't with River Plate and it doesn't look like he will finish the season with Benfica, crazy.
There's now 4 teams that he's joined and made an immediate impact with and in the biggest of circumstances. His best games with Benfica were in the CL against Juventus and PSG... and Of course, The effing World cup!! We would have never guessed he would start at the world cup, not only he broke through into the first team, he played like he'd known Messi, Mcallister and de Paul for years. This is insane.
I will admit that one of the reasons I'm so excited about Enzo is that we just don't produce players like him. We are the land of the number 9s (we grow them in trees) wingers and attacking midfielders, that's it. But a complete Mid like him, I actually don't know of anyone in the world right now. He has the potential of being a Pirlo, Modric or even Zidane who can actually defend! He is 21!! of course he won't be like Messi, but he will have an amazing career. Do you now understand why Chealsea will pay 130mil for him?
Hey buddy, thank you for the very compelling story, heard some exciting things about this lad, and it seems that you just proved most of them. In terms of Chelsea, sure, people have a right to say that they overpay for their players, but their latest signings are just the players of the extraordinary talent, and even though they are not "proven", they are still incredible and in a long run this "NBA-like" strategy even might appear to be smart, however, obviously, only time will tell

Porto fan here but for the ignorants saying Enzo is "normal" player (not arguing if it worths 120m or not, but thinking about Lukaku, João Felix, Grealish, Maguire, Antony transfer fees...i think it may worth it) because he is a complete midfielder:
- A pass master, a box-to-box midfielder, a deep-lying playmaker, a offensive playmaker, a tough-tackling ball-winner, can adapt easy on any team or system.
- He is footballing chameleon; without the ball, he possesses great defensive attributes and instincts and can often be found using his intensity and aggression to win the ball back for his side. However, his superb quality on the ball means that he is also a real threat in possession and is a midfielder who can bring the team up the pitch and into the attacking third through the use of his expansive passing range.
- He lead the Primeira Liga for most touches with 1390, has completed by far the most open-play passes with 1067 (212 more than any other player) and has completed the most open-play progressive passes with 79, showing that his passing isn’t simply for passing sake, but instead used as a vehicle to progress his side up the pitch and into attacking zones. He is currently averaging 96.4 successful passes per 90 minutes, 20 passes more than any other Primeira Liga midfielder. To contextualise how rare this is, across the top five European Leagues since 2018-19, the only midfielder to play 1000+ minutes and average more passes per 90 minutes in a season has been Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Marco Verratti. - Caicedo and Bellingham are very good as well. But he is kind of a 2 in 1. Bellingham better on the attack, assists and finishing, Caicedo is a Kanté 2.0. Enzo is like a mix.
PS: Yunus Musah, Vitinha, Manu Koné and Lucas Seiwald, Gavi, Camavinga and Romeo Lavia will be unique world class midfielders as well. If we´re talking about attacking midfielder of course Musiala, Pedri, Elliot, Guler, Matheus França, Thiago Almada and Xavi Simons. It´s my bet.
So, for the haters... do You want him to cook for you guys as well? WTF. Was crazy spending money but for the first time in 8 years we gonna enjoy watching the usually boring Chelsea games. If they buy Osimhen for ST and Diogo Costa for GK, they can fight for the league easily and can be one the best teams in a few years if things goes right ( considering that any of them turns out to be a flop :) ).

He can play as regista or box to box. He is decisive in both surfaces, can attack like a 10 or winger and can defend like a sweeper,. He gives the tempo, breaks the lines either with his passes or by his dribbles and intercepts a lot by his aggressive pressing. What I like the most with him is his professionalism, he can sprint for 120 minutes and he leaves nothing to his opponents.
Actually he seems to be a good player and what I like from him is his ability to shoot from far.

The problem with jorginho was that he was more of a short pass player. This drugged and slowed our attacking pace. With massive and quick wingers we gat right now, mudryk, madueke, felix, mount and ziyech will reach their potentials because of enzo. What chelsea has to do is to ensure the number 6 only to focus on defensive responsibilities and let enzo deal with his guys up front…. If chelsea plays and potter become very serious, im pretty sure UEFA number 3 is coming to london in just few months. Blue is the colour, football is the game💙💙

El problema de Chelsea ésta temporada son las lesiones, sobre todo las de Reece James, Chilwell y Kante. Con lo que lleva gastado Boehly en vez de todos los que trajeron en éste mercado de invierno bien podrían haber invertido en un sólo jugador: Mbappe. Y recuperar a todos los lesionados. Con Abramovich era muy difícil que Chelsea contrate jugadores argentinos. Esperemos que éste pibe sea el único que contrate Boehly, sino se correrá el riesgo de que demasiados argentinos se hagan hincha del club más grande de Londres

Great player, but that's crazy money. It reminds me of when Arsenal bought Torreira after seeing him in the world cup, and he was similarly impressive in Serie A - except Arsenal didn't make him the most expensive PL signing ever.
