    Wow. I'm planning our first Vegas trip since Dec of 2019 (pre-pandemic) and was looking at the Cromwell. I was looking at more of a review like this one that really shared the total experience of staying a few days. I'll stick to the high-rises that I'm used to in Vegas and leave the boutique hotel experiences for quieter locations. Thanks for this real review.

    Staying at the Cromwell next Spring, I have my go-to places to eat all around Vegas and I was on the fence about Giada's so I am glad you reviewed it. Never been to Drai's but the pool sounds like a fun place to spend the day. Even though you gave it a pass, I am ok with the things you criticized about this hotel since I hardly spend any time in the same hotel whenever I go to Vegas. Thanks for the review, I am looking forward to my trip.

    • @Coolist
      @Coolist  Před 3 lety

      100 on the High Limit Slots is solid advice. The only issue hitherto this point is that I wasn’t winning, so it was tough to justify 100 at every single casino (says the guy who spends 100 on waters and snacks every few days, lol) Giada, as well as The Cromwell, was stunning - the property just didn’t move me. On to the next!

    I have stayed at the Cromwell twice: once in June 2021 (which is, ironically, when this video was posted) and then this past weekend (July 2022, for future readers). My 2021 stay was in like a mini-suite (the one with the bathtub in the room), and it was fantastic. My 2022 stay was in a room just like yours, which I was sad to see had some wear and tear. I even had to have them unclog my sink. Although it is still a cool property, it does seem to be on the decline. To me, the biggest example of that is how they did away with the wonderful Interlude Lounge and its $2 vodka drinks and live entertainment. Another casualty of the Eldorado buyout, I suppose.

    Regarding the pool situation, I think you can use the Caesars pool when staying at Cromwell if you don’t want to do Drai’s. But you’ve gotta go over to the other resort which is a pain. Oh boy the religious wackadoos …yes they love that area of the strip …very irritating. I’ve never been in the Cromwell. While it looks great I agree with you 100 percent about getting bored after a day . I prefer the larger properties with more to see and do. The not having its own pool is a big minus as well . Very glad to hear you won a few bucks …that always makes for a pleasant evening. Great video as always …looking forward to the Mirage 😎😎😎

      Wackadoo’s... 😂 Hilarious bro. I’m glad I stayed there, so now I know exactly what it is. The Mirage stay for EPIC and I’m excited to share it 🍻

    i think i never liked the outside commotion outside of cromwell..every time i pass by and i go to vegas frequently...theres always a variety of promotors, street performers and just random loud crowds. youre also right that it is a boring site where there really is nothing going on there to do. i actually enjoyed giada's but my bf & i did try different entrees and appetizers than you but great overall review in general. it does make me not want to ever book a room here lol.

    Great job. I'd think Inwrotr the script and opinions, but you were way more diplomatic. (...and had more drinks) you did skip that the cute rooms shake when Drai's is open and that the clientele it caters to go out of their way to be rude. Giada, gak. Good job.

    This review is kind of sad. The Cromwell always looked like a super stylish spot when I walked by it. From the outside it looks like it would have cool speakeasy type bars and lounges. The style of it makes you think it's an adult hotel, but I guess it's a party spot. Thanks for the heads up!!

    The Cromwell is nice but I miss the Barbary Coast and Bill's Gambling Hall that used to be there. It was the best low roller joint on the Strip and one of the only ones. It was old school and classy inside somehow and felt like a downtown hotel as far as gambling but was mid strip. Had so many great times there in my twenties when I had less coin to shell out.
    The drink service was out of this world you could barely keep up with how fast the drinks came even if gambling at a five dollar table. It's too bad Vegas tears down some of their best and most memorable places with history sometimes in favor of bland luxury and new places that will be easily forgotten and lack any real vibe or character.
    Some places obviously need to be torn down but sometimes it's the wrong ones. Vegas needs all of the Flamingo's, Golden Nuggets, Plaza's, and Mirage's that they still have that have any history.

    Too bad that Eat Well no longer has their $5 mini hotdog w/ drink special. yeah, this hotel is very boutique. If I'm in Vegas for a day, this might be a good alternative, but anything beyond that it would get boring. I usually go to Carbone for good italian food.

    That strip corner is VERY Noisy and if your light sleeper you'll have issues here!

      I consider myself a heavy sleeper and I still had issues. Usually, I like the energy, hustle, and bustle of a city, but that was too much even for me.

    It was better when it was Barbary Coast. Way less pretentious.

      Never had the opportunity to set foot on the property when it was Barbary Coast. I'm only familiar with Cromwell's direct predecessor, Bill's.

    What type of crowd is Drais? Is it largely African American themed? That’s the impression I got when I stayed at Bally’s.
