Young Zebra Shark Medical Training

These young Zebra Shark are 9 and 10 months old and already show their high intelligence and activeness! Thanks to the medical training that started when they turned 3 months old, they are now very familiar with the stretcher and the contact with their caregivers. Today they eat on it without any stress and this allows periodic medical check-ups to guarantee their optimal health.
After Loro Parque succeeded in breeding a Zebra Shark for the first time in Spain early last year, the Aquarium team has continued to breed them successfully and contributing to the conservation of a species that is currently in danger of extinction, as their population has decreased by more than 50% in the last 50 years.
