Whenever I'm working on something that has an uncompromising deadline due to influences out of my direct control, I can work for hours non-stop. Deadlines are necessary constraints for achieving deep focus. The key is to impose uncompromising deadlines with grave penalties when working on personal projects.
8hrs of actual production work every single day is crazy. Most top CEOs get max 3-4. Everyone wants your time on bullshit things I don't even see how it's possible to get 8? Maybe once in a while but definitely not sustainable every day
