Long hair is probably playing as Isabelle, and no in this case Isabelle won bc she didn’t die. What determines the winner if it times out is who has more lives, or percentage if lives are the same

Lowkey? Playing out sudden death sounds way more entertaining than simply running away to keep the lower damage. Not competitive, but whatever.
Also, those last second hits that would kill them were it not for time running out were tragic

This video is proof that winning merely by having a lower percent is absurd. Rewarding cowardly play is insane to me. I don't get why they don't just play sudden death when time runs out or just do the one stock off that I know some tournaments do.
Hi sonic main here, time outs are utterly stupid and cowardly play absolute blows, but homing attack is too good in sudden death, I win every single sudden death match I get into online, I can’t imagine making sudden death a thing tournament would help the asshole sonic players stop being assholes
The problem with removing timeout wins is, 1, that would be unfair, and 2, it won't stop timeouts. Imagine you and your opponent are at last stock, but you are at 0 they are at 150%. If they timed you out, the game would suddenly reset to even. Even in a tiebreaker 1-stock match rule, they essentially heal 150% for timing you out.
As it is, timeouts still favor the better player in some twisted sense. That IS unfortunate, but timeouts favoring the worse player would be even worse imo.
What causes timeouts to begin with is the game inherently favoring defensive play, especially for certain characters. They simply have too much evasion compared to offensive power. If Sonic was rebalanced to be easier to punish, but his attack power was increased, he wouldn't be timing anyone out as much.
Maybe they could add a landing lag penalty to his special moves the same way they did to Bayo?
Not really, winning by having a lower percentage damage is the same as having more health than your opponent on a time out in any other fighting game, also, plenty of clips from this video shows players doing comebacks by beating the opponent before time runs out, or increasing their damage percentage before time out, if anything, the better player is rewarded, as the video shows both defensive and offensive playstyles winning.
@@GravityRavenYT Really good response. I just really dislike defensive play because I'm more of an offensive player and seeing defensive players kinda just stay in their corner and play well without having to move much annoys me
