this song is an absolute. Gorgeous. Splendid. Bravo
One of Marillion's most loved songs.
Basically two parts - the first half about guilt or shame for not making amends and getting peace of mind.
The second half - with all of its Peter Pan references - is about escape - even if you can never really leave the cage - some lovely wordplay from Steve H, and some masterful
guitar licks from Steve R.

I had the same reaction the first time I heard that line!!! Good choice to hear this live the first time. Marillion is still making great music to this day.
