I'm a diehard Seahawks fan, but I'm also a realist and before the season I started, I had us pegged as like a 7-10, 8-9 type team. I thought the national perspective was waaay too dismissive of the Seahawks, but never in my wildest dreams did I think the team would be playing this well and look this complete at the halfway point and be on course for a playoff spot. Did not see that level of success coming, so it's been a pleasant surprise. Geno is a HUGE part of that, guy deserves a ton of credit.

Seattle is in that type of position where they look like a legit, young team with balance and insane upside. I think they're in a position where Schneider can look at free agency and tell a couple of guys, 'come to Seattle, help us win a Super Bowl' just like they did with Bennett and Avril back in the day. A couple moves like that, in addition to another couple of solid hits in the draft, and this team will climb the mountain again.
Been saying we will be back in the SB within 3 years. Next years draft class plus sign some free agents, bam.. back in the SB.

As a long time Seahawks fan (since 1989), this feels like the team the season before the superbowl run. They were young, hungry, made some noise in the playoffs but lost in Atlanta (I think). Everybody knew then, next year is the year.
That loss in Hotlanta made me sick for a few months. But I knew they were coming back. I hope our draft guys are working hard to find some more quality in next years draft to add to this class.

@@henrim9348 I believe picking up Jimmy Graham was the beginning of the decline. We traded away our center and they started ignoring the draft looking for that "one piece" that would put us over the top instead of doing what they do best, finding young players and coaching them up.
Their season reminds me when they went 7-9 and beast quake happened. They were not supposed to be there but they were.

Seattle the type of team you think they suck UNTIL you actually watch them play. Anyone who has watched a lot of football knows what winning football looks like and right know that’s what seattle is playing.
It’s ironic because for years with Russ even when we won a lot of games the team didn’t look good. It was feast or famine football and you could tell in the playoffs the actual good teams were going to wipe them out.
Yup just look what happened after Seattle won the division like 2 years ago, first game in the playoffs and they lose to a Jared Goff with a finger injury
The Seattle Seahawks have a TEAM that communicates well, and plays like a TEAM. Their Defense gets them turnovers, and their Offense gets them points.
Their defense was so bad early I was really concerned. They turned a corner, the rookies got comfortable, confident and became impact players.
It’s a testament to good coaching. Carroll keeps saying how the guys have bought in.

I was yelling at everyone before the draft that Kenneth Walker III was the best RB in the class! And everyone was so enamored with Breece Hall. Well I am going to take some credit now. Im just pissed my Bills didn't pick him up in the first round. But I knew from watching the film that Walker was going to be great. He reminded me so much of Deebo Samuel when he has the ball in his hands. I'm rooting for him though! Rookie of the year!
I'm one of the 12's, but with all the talent the 49ers have, it will be difficult to hold onto the NFC West. But i'm hoping the Seahawks win out the whole thing!
Pete will get our guys ready to play the niners. It will be a battle, but we know how to get into their QBs head. CK7, Jimmu G and Trey Lance . Next year when we add a stud LB and two insane pass rushers, we will be ready for another decade of SB run. We just need to make sure our QB doesn't take half the team salary.

Niners have some major problems in the next few years with a lack of draft capital and talent to pay. I think Niners take take the division this year but I have serious concerns going forward.

The Seahawks, for its past three games (Cardinals, Chargers, and Giants) have had the best ranked defense in the NFL during that period. For the 2022 season, the Seahawks offense is at the top in some offensive categories or very near the top in the rest of the offensive categories. After the Giants game in Week 8, Seahawks TE Will Dissly was named the NFC special team player of the week. Seahawks QB1 Geno Smith not only leads the NFL in completion percentage this year but he also is close to being the NFL all-time historical completion percentage leader. Because the Seahawks are starting seven rookies in 2022, it took the first five games of this season for the Seahawks defense to learn to work together. Those starting seven Seahawks rookies are LT Charles Cross, RT Abraham Lucas, RB Kenneth Walker III, CB Tariq Woolen, CB Coby Bryant, Outside LB Boye Mafe, and (starting on ST) S Joey Blount. Walker could end up being the NFL's offensive rookie of the Year. Woolen might end up being the NFL's defensive rookie of the year, even doing more so far than "Sauce" Gardner. The Seahawks are real. The Seahawks are not going away. The 2022 Seahawks will continue their march toward the playoffs at the end of the 2022 season. This is the system Russell Wilson didn’t want to play. Geno is doing great for Pete’s system our Defense is getting better and better and our offense is Also getting better and better. This Rookie class is doing a amazing job. Seahawks will be a force for years to come and we got great draft picks in 2023.

Offense has the weapons, playmakers in DK, Tyler and Walker and Geno is playing great. TE group is solid and Oline has played well enough. Waldron doing a great job as OC getting them in the right calls. Defense is solid up front. Nwosu has been fantastic and Mafe is starting to come on as a pass rusher. I like Brooks but beyond that, the LB group is a weak spot. The kids on the back end have been a revelation for sure. Special teams have improved along with the defense. Overall depth could be a problem though in some areas. The toughest thing in the league is to stay relatively healthy for the long haul. The winning teams do that. All in all, Jon and Pete absolutely nailed the draft and we have a nice haul of picks next year to add depth and maybe another couple of impact players. We will see how far they can go this year but there is a ton of work to do. I'm pleasantly surprised and cautiously optimistic at this moment but the Niners, when healthy, have a pretty formidable team. December 15 will tell the tale, imo. The boys need to take out the Cards this week and bury them and then after the bye week, I hope we can dismantle the Rams and end their hopes. The media now talking too much though. I would rather they quit talking and let the team sneak up on people, lol.

I am still holding my counsel about Geno , I do like him and he is a humble guy so long may it continue. Where we finish who knows but the team and PC are all for him so that gives you confidence. P/offs would be good and then the draft next year is so important...

Loving the game as a player is so important.
As a hawks fan, I was all-in on the idea of a tank this season. I am pleasantly surprised by the team in the recent weeks, but I still don't want to set expectations. Honestly, it feels like I'm betting with only house money right now, just enjoying the ride.
Seattle is a total surprise. I am taking a big fat L on this one. I picked them for 5-7 wins and they already have 5 with 9 games to play. I start looking forward and feel like they’re going to close the year 10-7 as their “floor” and, if they continue to improve, they could seriously be 13-4. They have some really tough games coming up but we are seeing a team that covers well, stuffs the run well - they shut down offenses with a lot of “nobodies” in the secondary (minus Diggs).
I think they can edge out SF for the division. I think SF isn’t nearly as good as I thought they’d be and their defense won’t hold up down the stretch. Their offense is a glass cannon that requires a great run game or it all folds. I would still favor them odds-wise but this Seattle team might just be for real and a top 4 team in the NFC.

The question is do the Seahawks beat the 49r's at home later in the season? If they do, that is a 2 game lead that has to me made up in the other 8 games. If Seattle wins the head to head and goes 4-4 the rest of the way, then the 49r's need to go 6-2 just to tie them.

I think this is a good situation for Drew Lock to sit back and learn and develope under Geno and this offensive scheme, Lock still has some talent and he just needs to work on his decition making and clean up his turnovers and I think he can start for this team some day in 4 years, he just needs to sit back and work hard on his game! I don't think we need another QB in this next draft, we need to keep building this team overall. I don't think we have seen the last of Lock, he will still be under 30 by the time it will be his turn!

I was one that said even if Seattle hit on every draft pick, they'd have not chance with Smith at QB. I said if they got average QB play they could win some games. I am up to this point 100% wrong. Smith has been great. Everything you'd want in a QB. Uses the whole field so defenses have to defend sideline to sideline. He made most every throw. Biggest thing which he couldn't do before was he's not throwing it to the other team. You can win with that. Seattle hit a home run almost every pick in the draft. That's almost impossible to do don't care what team you are. Every pick filled need and was so far, they been great. If those picks get better and in next year's draft, they get lucky again Seattle could be setup for years to come. And the draft is a bit of luck. You never know was a college player will do in the NFL. Can't miss pick miss all the time. So, the draft can be a lot of luck.
As of right now Seattle isnt scheduled to play a team with a winning record until week 16, and before that their toughest matchup is 49ers week 15 in Seattle. So it is certainly possible Seattle might not have another loss till week 16, of course there are no gimmies in the NFL but with how they have played on both sides the ball the past few weeks against good teams, Seattle could really set themselves up for a solid playoff seed.
Hawks always seem to have problems with the Rams.
Even if we don't go to the playoffs we are good enough to at least shake up the seeding

I like what I see so far Who wouldn't and don't count us out were very very young that's my only concern the last 3 games Excellent I want to see what we can do against a few more good teams and we have to be able to the 40Whiners too and the Rams even though there looking beatable this year the Rams have owned us the past bunch of years and the toughest game on our schedule that probably no one will give a a chance to win Christmas Eve in KC if we can keep winning and win that game then watch out.

Seahawks defense is still bad. I am not worried about the offense at all, it's the defense that worries me.
Last three games they have been 3rd best defense in the league, almost double the league in ff, dline gets good pressure and sacks. They could use help with the linebacker group however, but the team is balling

The linebackers are the weak spot, but if they keep getting pressure and sacks, turnovers are going to happen, big plays are going to happen. These kids are hungry, knocking balls down, getting fumbles, getting interceptions. They will take the NFC West. Pete will get coach of the year.
