  • We recently processed a two year old steer that we raised on our ranch. We chose to do grass fed and grain finished and the end product has been delicious! We ended up with 347 pounds of meat and have enjoyed every single cut. The reasons I love processing our own meat is taste, quality, health, and cost! We recommend starting with a good quality steer, feeding and finishing the steer properly, and finding a good butcher. We used Hometown Meatmarket in Lulling and they were fabulous.Follow along as I breakdown the process, costs, and the outcome.
Here at StillWaters Ranch we are a husband and wife trying to be homesteaders. Watch as we try and become more self sufficient one day at a time. We share our successes, our failures, and the things we are learning along the way.
