- Original Tape credits go to Ronnie Williams, who passed the tape to Freeman Kitchens, who passed it along to Anthony Lupo. Lupo passed the tape along to me and I am glad to present it to you now. Passed along just like a Carter Family song! Enjoy!

if I build a time machine I would love to go back in time listen to these ladies sing.
a true blessing from Carters.
Where NO one STANDS ALONE...I had no idea Mother Maybelle sang this...truly amazing to me!!! Thank you...
I didn’t get enough of the Carter’s singing down here. Looking forward to hearing them sing in heaven.
Amazing that this is available to the public, this incredible historic recording of the Carter Family. Thank you to all of you who made this possible.
I came along in 1972 in the blue ridge mountains here place called Franklin county, Va I am part of a family of music here i never was introduced to this music till around 1980 bout 8 years old my grandma taught me auto harp I was already learning the guitar and banjo then but my grandma did a song and sang like maybelle the song thinkin tonight of my blue eyes lord now I’m 51 back home from bristol here in 2023 got my autoharp, guitar and banjo and I’m back at it! God Bless the 2 women that inspired me the 1st my grandma and second Mamma Maybelle Carter!
What a big surprise, this beautiful recording. Thank you very much Sara and Maybelle for al the music you left us. ❤❤
This feels like a casual family gathering where everyone pulls out an instrument and has a go, only the family just so happens to be country music legends.
What a treasure! Thanks for sharing.
They was the best
Sadly, these sorts of live shows will most likely never happen again. Unrehersed, just wonderful raw pickin' and singing.😊😊😊😊😊
Love the Carter family. Just wonderful
👍
Great.. Never saw this one
So love this. Love me some Carter's all of them. Especially Sara, Maybelle and A.P.
This is probably the best performance they ever gave. God Bless Them.
Just fantastic! Like being inside of a history book with the original players. 🎶🎶💕
Helen was beautiful love personality and speaking voice she was so sourthern and beemed joy and she could play a orange and make it sound good.
… And there’s Joe, Jeannette and Helen too . All so talented !
46:05 Jeanette scaling up to find the key is as precious as Helens reaction 😂❤
Thank you for sharing this captured legendary moment. This old film makes me realize just how important each person is during their life. The video recorder captured three musicians who captured the beauty of life even though they experienced deaths and health injuries, they lived, shared their lives with others, and are still teaching others (us, the viewers and listeners) how to play music and set our eyes on the Lord God Almighty as our lives fade as theirs have faded away from this temporary realm.❤
Helen was so underrated..Really talented
I believe all the girls were underrated!!
@@JeffreyCoffey-j2y They were a super group
@@impassable 1975...I was one year old...Mom always said I missed everything!!
This is incredible. Thank you for uploading the full show.
This is wonderful. Thank you. It’s neat to hear them chatting and Maybelle’s sense of humour is endearing. They’re all so real.
This was fantastic! I've always loved the carter family group although they are from a different country and a different time. Sarah Carter's voice is so beautiful! And it's great to see that the rest of the family are so talented . Thanks so much for posting this. Best concert I've been to for ages. Cheers.!
Helen was so nerdy it was precious.
This is an amazing tribute to an amazing pioneer family of music
As a Roman Catholic who loves Gregorian chant, I have to say that Southern country Gospel music like this is so beautiful! It has every bit as much transcendence as anything composed on the 14th century. Too bad A.P. had already passed when this was filmed. I love the Carter Family, especially the oldest recordings from 1927. God bless them all!
Beautiful.
❤Thanks to you all for getting this wonderful recording ❤ 042025😊

I love this ❤
Great video! And the boy singing "Battle of New Orleans" 21:20 : fresh and fabulous !
Beautiful...
Thank you for sharing this.
Thank you very much for sharing this piece of history with us!
Compare this beautiful rendition of "Gathering Shells by the Sea Shore" with the 1939 recording titled "Happiest Days of All" on the Carter Family border radio collection, which features AP singing harmony as well. Sarah was 76-77 years old and Maybelle was around 65-66 years old at the time of this recording. Thanks so much to Ronnie Williams, Freeman Kitchens, Anthony Lupo, and Colin Haines for preserving this moment in time.
thank you so much for this ❤
Thanks for posting

I was born way too late. And in the wrong country. But mostly just too damn late.
Almost seems like Helen is trying not to outshine them. Joe and Jeannette couldn't really sing and Maybelle and Sara weren't doing well by then either.
I noticed that too. Of course this was 1975, Sara was 77 and Maybelle was 66. I think it’s incredible that they were still willing to do this so late in their life. Remember that Maybelle died only three years later and Sara just a few months after that.
Maybelle performed until early 1976. She only did a song and sang behind the curtains a lot of the time. She was a pioneer, an innovator and a damn good musician! 😊
I remember when I was young sitting around the radio with my parents listening to their music. I'm from Arkansas and you could here people singing there songs.
Sorry to disagree. Technically, maybe, Helen was in her musical prime and the other ladies a bit past their prime. But legends like Maybelle and Sara Carter don’t need to prove anything to anybody, and they sure don’t need to compete with or be compared to anybody!
