  • This episode looks at the Doombook of Chaos #9 from 1984, the product of J.P. (Des) Irwin, John Grandidge, Brad Bennett, with contributions from Richard Lee, Malcom Edge, Geoff Cordery, G.C. Stratmann and John Bracewell.
This fanzine is focused on D&D. Contents include: an adventure (Time Trap), new magic items, new monsters, a new trap, some ideas on role-playing and wargamers, reviews (Car Wars and the movie The Dark Crystal), NPCs, rules and charts for forcing dungeon doors and wondering monsters drawn to the noise, ideas on campaign economy and using guilds for all the character classes, a T&T adventure (Minotaur Mountain) and guidelines for weather events.
The fanzines in my collection are all focused on RPGs (especially fantasy role playing games) and with an emphasis on content for Dungeons & Dragons (depending on the year, that could be OD&D, Basic/Expert D&D and/or AD&D).
** Other Early Fanzines Identified in this issue: N/A.
*** Art shown from this issue was created by Hudson Shaw, John Grandidge, Caius Jennison, Mike Lewis and Richard Lee.
