Liu without the serve is not much of a player.During Waldner's time the Chinese didn't get their players exposed to smaller tournaments to keep Europeans unfamiliar with their game.Kong Linghui was one of the first players who played around the globe but his 3rd ball game was crappy compared to general CNT level.

What are you talking about? Waldner in his prime never beat Liu Guoliang until 2000 and Liu Guoliang was close to retirement at that point.
