I know this is supposed to be a showcase for the new character, but it's hard not to pay attention to this Saber in rounds two and three. Extremely good stuff.

Also she needs the masters command seal to load the black barrel and there are no signs of Ritsuka anywhere for now
@@MokonaModokiES Ritsuka not being around makes sense. TypeMoon crossovers like this usually focus on the Heroine's over the actual protagonist, promoting them more or just outright only using them, hence Saber and Mash being around without even a mention of Shirou and Ritsuka. Carnival Phantasm's general marketing, from what I gather, focused way more on the Heroines, as did it's opening. That's why Saber in Nitroplus BlasterZ had little to no mentions or Kiritsugu and Irisviel (they got alluded too, but never namedropped), it's why Arcueid in FGO has a few offhand remarks relating to Shiki but is mostly there to just be marketable. TypeMoon just has a consistent habit of using their Heroine's in crossovers more with the intent of them being standalone additions that don't actually have any major story relevance.
Ryougi Shiki seems the exception to this, since she's both the marketable waifu heroine and the main protagonist of KnK, but even then her guest appearances in Melty Classic, Fate Extra, and FGO didn't have much, if anything, to do with KnK's original plot. Heck, Ryougi in Melty Blood was literally an add for the KnK movies at the time.

@@djantouahmed7319 Mash's Black Barrel uses the energy from a command spell as the "bullet" it fires, no Master, no Command Spell, nothing to fire.

Archers will use anything at their disposal, even their dicks and boobs if the times come to, but their pride forbids using bows and arrows.

Is it just me, or is it kinda lowkey surreal seeing Mash using the Shield button and well... actually *use* her shield for said button? IDK maybe because I've been so used to seeing characters use their hand or arm I was expecting Mash to do the same TBH.
Man, I can't wait for French Bread to do a future 2D Fate FG. Imagine playing with the OG F/SN servants, or even Apocrypha servants.

Yeah, not like writing 4 routes takes a long time or anything...
well nasu did say far side would be shorter than arc and ciel routes and those two took like 2 years and a half(when they took the project more seriously. Obviously he had notes and some stuff written down that are like 20 years old)
So maybe not too much far away.
Will still take time though. They can save up some being able to reuse most CGs and sprites of near side...

no it directly seems her dash has been completely reworked to be a rekka now. She did dash into nothing WITHOUR FLASH(Before to do that it did the green flash)
also she did it after her other rekka to.

Saber always had 214[B] which is a rekka cancel, I didnt see it in this vid tho but her 214a seems to keep people much closer now

Am I the only one who wants a Fate fighting game with this exact style of French Bread? Kinda tired of everyone slapping Arc Sys into any potential new game. And me wishing to see Rin and Archer with these gorgeous sprites and gameplay 😭

I mean... a "Fate" fighting game is exactly why Type Lumina exists. French Bread was prototyping characters for a "Nasuverse" fighting game and Saber was pretty much completed for that. Then the Tsukihime remake finally got completed/worked on and they were given the go ahead for the new version of Melty at the same time.
Probably _far_ more likely that Melty Blood turns into the "Nasuverse" fighting game if they keep the trend with characters like Saber and Mash being possible (French Bread would be stretched _pretty thin_ if they had another game alongside Melty Blood and their upcoming Under Night version; the company is only like 15 people). No complaints from me outside of preferring Tsukihime and Melty originals get readded earlier before all-inning on other stuff like FGO, UBW, etc.
Sadly, Melty Blood Type Lumina was supposed to be an All-Around Type Moon fighter, but then TM jumped in and said they want a new Melty Blood to cross promote with the remake. However they already had assets for Saber and kept them. That's why Saber ended up in Melty Blood. Seeing how the Remake overhauled the story/setting/characters of Tsukihime and crippled the potential for an interesting roster in Type Lumina, I think TM and French Bread should have just gone ahead with the Type Moon crossover fighting game idea. And then they could have put in Arcueid, Ciel and Vlov to promote the Remake.
@@justasoulsfan9805 To be fair, French Bread has wanted to have a new HD Melty Blood for _years._ Sion is in Under Night because they had made her for a hypothetical HD Melty Blood *forever* ago.
I wouldn't worry too much about it. Simply including Mash and Saber gives enough excuse for Melty to _become_ the Type Moon fighting game. And I'd argue the Tsukihime Remake making the roster "weak" is simply because we're still missing *four* routes (the Far Side) for Tsukihime Remake, which will have a lot more potential on the inclusion front.
@@odonobu No guarantee about a "Nasuverse/Type-MOON mash up" fighter but Type Lumina _was_ prototyped as a fighting game for one of their properties. It's why Saber is in the game.
From what I understand, French Bread was told it would be Type-MOON IP but not specifically what until a later date, so they were making stuff to demonstrate to them? I'd have to grab some old articles to verify.
I see people say that this game became a melty remake because of the tsukihime remake to promote it in a way
But that's a weird decision since if you're not from Japan and have an Xbox or a pc you cant even play tsukihime
They didnt have time to translate tsukire compared to melty that has way less text.
For now they are trying to at least bring Mahoyo VN in english that its the Visual novel of Aoko(the red haired girl in melty blood)
They are just taking their time because they have never officially translated their visual novels before.

is she any good? i got the game SPECIFICALLY for her cause i like FGO and she's such an adorable and likeable character. not to mention how much she's saved my ass and been there for and saved my/"your" ass both gameplay wise and story wise.
Well we don't know yet. The character is new, players need time to lab. But she's easy to use
@@randomuser-mv7bb ya i've been fiddling around with her and she reminds me a lot of a mixture of Chizuru and Sasara from Aquapazza. she's speedy and has got nice offensive tools like Chizuru, but she's got deceptively long reach and hyper armor like Sasara, though Sasara's is still far superior to Mash in that it literally says nope to everything in the game ranging from specials to desperations. you name it, she plows through it. the only thing i don't get atm is this one wiki says you can charge her EX:Punishment move. from what i can tell thats impossible. nothing i do seems to change the damage or properties of it. so i don't know where they're getting the idea that you can charge the move.

Oh wow, thank you so much FGO for giving us a lowly peasants a new Melty Blood/Tsukihime Remake. Without your deep and thought provoking intellectual property we wouldn't have been blessed with a another game after 10+ years. Glad Fate started it all.
yeah id rather go just not exist at all and we keep the OG tsukihime, the remake hasnt been shaping up to be any good and im really worried about the other routes, and go is fucking trash tier writing from a company that started....by writing things.

@@wuy4 Some people have liked it, a lot of others have been mixed/waiting for all the routes, a fair number have been...critical. Its not objectively awful (like the writing of the majority of GO is) but it most certainly isnt lightning in a bottle like OG tsuki is/was.

@@wuy4 Tsukihime Remake as a VN isn't bad, it's just very "modern". The changes are what make it or break it depending on the reader. You can compare this to the Evangelion Rebuild movies or FFVII Remake. While keeping the plot beats of the original 2 Near Side routes, it puts in a lot of modern "anime stuff" like fanservice and comedy. If you read the OG Visual Novel you'll know that these elements were minimal there. The biggest controversies come from the changes in the lore (character backstories, powers etc.) and the new characters. These changes introduce weird implications and even plotholes that weren't in the original. Nasu also claimed he made these changes to buff the setting and cast to keep them relevant compared to current Fate high tiers. Problem is if we go by feats the Remake/MBTL cast is way weaker than their original counterparts (old VN and MBAA). One could argue that even the FSN cast at their weakest would manhandle everything from Tsukihime Remake. Extraverse and FGO top tiers would just stomp at this point.
Personally I think it's a great VN in its own right, but a very mediocre remake that could have done so much more as it changes/improves on things that weren't needed, but keeps the same problems the OG Near Side already had.

Unlikely. Saber was added due to her sprite being scrapped from a scrapped game so they made good use of it here and Mash is here because FGO had an Tsukihime collab in which Nasu believes in the "eye for an eye" philosophy or well in his case, "equivalent exchange" so FGO use Arcueid and Melty got Mash.
The only other Fate character I see getting added is Saber Nero, and that's ONLY if they're still supporting Type Lumina when Fate/Extra Record finally released, and even then likely only of ER keeps the Arcueid boss fight from the original game since then they can market it as more cross promotion.

On top of that it kinda feels like they want to support melty for long and avoid making "new versions"
if they keep doing this collabs i can see the game living for quite a long time and also gaining a lot more popularity over time due to all the different connections.

Even the anime adaptations put Mash in second ascension but when she uses her NP she changes into her third. Maybe she'll do that here when she uses her Last Arc.

@@ShikiRyougi05 Miyako did show new moves according to people who play her, it's probably the same with Saber
Saber did get some new rekka options and a option to Blowback edge her aerial dive. At least that's what I've spotted so far. From the looks of the video, I also think the core mechanic update for more combos helped cus I don't remember saber being able to delay her stand C after aerial C(BE) for that long and not have the opponent drop out of the combo in the beginning too.

Yep, in mbtl now, if saber hits aerial C(BE), I don't think she would have gotten the dual uppercuts after the qcb b slash. Definitely due to the eased combo restrictions. This one is from the 4200~ ish combo that saber did at the start. Mash would have also definitely dropped out of the aerial dive kick before ex move at the end of the combo if it were in current patch.
