This is a Porsche 911 restoration that was abandoned in 1994 after being converted to a race car. My plan is a twin turbo Subaru EZ30 porsche engine swap with 400+ HP to the wheels. Stay tuned. - Auta a dopravní prostředky
✋ binging these 2yr old videos ...trying to catch up to April 2024!!
More Porsche life prowess! High five🤚
hi Mike.... i know how consuming this is..... this looks soooooo awsome.. you are building and welding a new car together.. not just replacing a fender. crazy amount of work. im loving your self critisism on your work. hang in there, this will come out so right!
High Five! Soo much flare work. Plus your friend’s flares. I bet you are happy to be finished. It is looking really good. I’m waiting to see what is going to go down with the paint...
I remember a collision guy telling me about his wire choice and how it made a significant difference in terms of grind-ability. I know Gene Winfield prefers hammer welding with gas... Maybe next time. Looks good in any case good job it'll look fantastic!
You are a tenacious man! Nice work!
consider using the outer say 3 inches of the current flap as a frame around a slightly smaller movable wing with some winglet like edges, say a 2 to 3 inch formed air dam around the edge. You could mimic the shape of the grill area with the sizing and have a real "factory" look.
Nice Save.
Well done
I would have pushed into lead-ing those blow throughs by now..... But love your perseverance. 👏
That would not have worked in this case, and leading on vertical surfaces *SUCKS*.
You rock!! Awesome work!
Progress looks awesome!
Looks beautiful mate 👍
Your dedication to this is to be commended. I’m really looking forward to the videos on the engine! If they are anything like these videos they will be epic.
Wow, so much welding and grinding, amazing effort. It's getting there! ✨👌🏼
Kudo Man, this is an amazing job for a handyman. I can’t wait to see the final result. Keep going nice job.
Coming along nicely, great work!
Thanks bud
Hi Five from Belgium.
Really nice job on all the flares, great work! I really appreciate the tips & tricks you've been imparting to us during the process as well.
Thanks Daniel!
sorry for your challenges, but it is great to see you power-through, great to see you overcome and how you do stuff.....thanks for taking us down this road
Hey Mike, huge congratulations on finishing the flares! The car really looks raaaaad! Looking forward to seeing you do stuff with the engine :)
Coming next!
Looking good Michael! I was happy to see you used my suggestion by using the paint scraper to align the panels as you weld. Interesting idea using welding rod to help fill up the wide gaps. I usually just use the copper back plate or cut the gap bigger and weld in a strip.
Michael, much better fitment on the second turn 👏 Blasphemy is looking sexy 🔥
Nice work. Getting there!!
Slowly but surely!
Super impressed with the build. It has come so far from when I saw it when you started the build down here in SD.
Yes, it’s crazy how far!
✋Killing it on the fab work!
Thanks Todd!
👌🏽 awesome job ✋🏽
Nice hips man 👊
Hard work - as usual. I am impressed with your pesistence and the result. Just a question - would som 'leadwork' help You out getting the seams smooth? Keep up the good work.
Excellent job! .. Greetings from a fellow 911 owner from Qatar!
Wow!! Welcome!
Epic amount of bodywork gone into this! Your neighbours must be very patient! 🖐🏾High five from the UK!
I owe them some wine!!
👍🏻 That way the front end of the flare dips in makes such a big difference. I hope you will be able to let the line continue beneath the bumper if you get what I mean. Singer’s flares are a bit similar to the ST ones and it bugs me that there is just this slight disharmony between the line the wheel opening creates and the front valance. It's too big of a step in to the valance or change in the angle between the two. I guess it has to do with the rubber lip they use. Don't get me wrong, Singers are of course mind blowingly amazing but that's one of the very few criticisms I have on them. Just my rambling thoughts being nerdy and particular about flares on Porsches. I'm sure it's going to be great. Sorry that you had to redo some of the work but that's just the way it is sometimes.
I gots to try that tig rod thing. Nice work, sir! Do you have a PO box? Gotta send you something.
Drop me a line at 2syllableword at g mail
👏🏻
great job
next time try laying the filler wire in the gap and mig over it see
you
at rhe targa?
Yea I got there eventually. Yes to Targa!
Hey Mike, great work as usual! I was curious though, why did you give up on the lead tinning technique early on? I thought it would have worked well to fill those gaps in this situation. Anyways, love your work, very inspirational!
It’s got it’s place in certain situations!
@@rennch. yeh I would have thought lead running would be better than the fibre bondo combination
@@martinoakes5070 It’s much harder to pull off on vertical surfaces.
@@rennch. cool not tried it myself but your previous videos has inspired me to try it on my targa rebuild. Keep up the good vids and work. Tour inspiring me to get a move on with my restoration
Dude! That’s rockstar bodywork, I can’t wait to see how this thing on the road.
👍
🙌 🇬🇮🇬🇮🇬🇮🇬🇮🇬🇮
what is mike and ben up to
Hi mate. Would those areas you kept blowing through be suitable for lead filler, maybe ?
She looks HOT now BTW, total smoke show 😀
👍🤟
👍🏻🍺👏
👏👏👏👏👏✌️🇧🇷
what brand its that overall? cant wet to read it
Rennch.
@@rennch. is there a website? im not finding it
@@rennch. sorry, just found it, overalls not avaible thoo
I’d clean it up with led filler
Leading on a vertical surface sucks. I’m too much of a rookie for it.
It’s thin from all the working, grinding and welding. Frustrating you got one side so close quickly and then the other was so far off to make for loads of work.
Correct.
