I love the that the way its designed actually feels like a real lego set. this could easily be an official released set, and that is meant as a big compliment to your lego building skills
That's great to hear, thanks so much!
even in my opinion. I hope a similar one comes out soon so I can buy it and make a video
I love how the premise behind this isn't just a research facility, but a makeshift research facility made from an existing building. This bit of worldbuilding allows for such a creative way to express the set.
I would like to refuscire to design me in this very detailed way ... For now I just build LEGO sets for my videos
You can give the project some love here: www.bricklink.com/v3/designer-program/series-1/405/
Also, the name is obviously a play on words. The official name of the institution is The Research Academy for Aspiring Scientists, but due to a history of unfortunate 'incidents', the local residents have started using Expiring in the name.
Fuk...and I'm here trying to be a smartass lol oh well it looks great at least!
I couldn't get over to Bricklink to say I loved it fast enough - great model! I love the roof technique - how you use the teeth to hold the roof on. Also the plant with the minifig in it was hysterical!
Glad you like it. Thanks for the support!
I’m going to be honest, while this looks beautiful and is amazing as a bricklink submission, this should be submitted on LEGO Ideas as well. I only say this because it would be sad if only a few people get to build this set. I hope it gets a big release someday. Bravo!
I always love a good MOC where a fun story is behind it and not just made to look good or be realistic. I really hope your design will be chosen as an official set. You have my full support.
1:55 sooo satisfying! Great build, as always!
Expiring? As in they're dying? I mean, we all are but still... 😁
researching hazardous materials perhaps? any time now ... *KABOOMZ!!*
Wordplay for Aspiring
Well, just look at the attic and the half eaten scientist by a plant!
Scientists best if used by 5/21/23
I was just about to like your comment, but then I realise that already has 69 likes (nice)
I absolutely love this MOC! Awesome! I hope it does well in Brinklink Designers Program. Love all the cool science aspects of the MOC but also the building design--the roof, the archways, those cool bushes, etc. Thanks for sharing how you built some of those things. Heading to brink link to double check that I've voted for this!!
This is stellar, I would buy it in an instant! Fantastic job!
Beautiful beautiful set👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
I really like how the roof sections slide in, such a simple, but clever solution
Literally every aspect of this is delightful. I would LOVE to add this to my Lego city
I love the easter eggs in this set, so cooool
I love it. So well done!
3:34 It belongs in a museum Jason!
This is amazing! It's definitely making me envision something like this as a modular! Such an awesome design!
Beautiful!
Amazing!!
As someone who fell-off of lego 15 years ago, those "brick style" 1x2 bricks look so cool, between those and the one's where you can have studs off one side
I love the styling of this, a lot of people say it feels like a set, which I think is true to an extent, but it also feels very much like an early 2010s building moc like those seen in some independent books back in the day. Love it!
This is phenomenal.
This is beautiful
So much detail is crazy 😱
I love it - cant wait to see it in stores!
Loved watching your video, I think your design and execution of your idea is phenomenal.... All the best with Bricklink / LEGO Ideas ;o)
I love this so much!
This is brilliant, love it!🤌
Great design, looks amazing - love it!
And the "guess what's in that crate" reference is the best thing ever!!!
just a beautiful build
It's really beautiful 😍😍
Great set !
This is awesome I want it so bad
Lots of fantastic building techniques as per usual with you Jason! And a ton of life with the story being told inside the building. Not sure if you're into wood-working or not but you (maybe inadvertently) used a French cleat system to secure those roof panels... very clever!
love it😍
Very nice design!
OMG you're a genius!
Perfect just perfect
Surely, aspiring? :o
Thank you for sharing your overview of the Academy for Expiring Scientists LEGO model! It sounds like an intriguing and unique set, and I appreciate you pointing out the arches and windows as particularly noteworthy features. I can imagine how those elements would lend a sense of grandeur and sophistication to the building, and add to its overall aesthetic appeal. It's always great to see how LEGO designers can use architectural details to elevate a model and make it stand out. I'm sure many LEGO enthusiasts will enjoy building this set and imagining all the scientific discoveries that could take place within its walls. Thanks again for sharing your thoughts on this exciting LEGO creation!
It looks amazing I really want this to become a lego set it would be amazing
This is not a children's toy. This is is a damn piece of art👏🏻
Very cool!
I was going to comment that I really like the greenhouse... and then you showed us the minifig being swallowed by the plant! So now I *love* the greenhouse! 😅
Amazing
Cool Ideas😃👍
this is so cool! I love it and would love to see a whole university or school building like this!
fantastic, this would look just fine in my city
So many details!! Great looking set. I'm proud to say I guessed right on the crate's contents.
what were they?
Great job! I wish I could build smth like this lol
I need this as a lego set right now
It is so amazing and incrediblely detailed, a bit cramped though on second thought😁😁😉
2:55 i love the explaining of gold by using a goldfish.
Happy Easter
As a scientist I LOVE this!
BRILLIANT. Submit this to Ideas if you haven't already done so. I would buy this set in a (reanimated) heartbeat.
I died when you said "a remote controlled submersible"
You gotta release an instruction for this, its straight up fantastical!
Nice 👍
Beautiful models as always! Where did you learn to design like this?
experience you muppet
This is very cool! ( i want this in mi house)
great engineering. lego could learn from that.
Inside the box at 3:35 is the ark of the covenant. The number is from Raiders of the Lost Ark
0:23 Jason rules!!!
I really hope his becomes a set although I doubt I'll have enough money or space at home to buy it TwT
The Easter eggs 😂. I’m ready to buy it.
hey, I see a toy at my local store have your logo and your signature, congrats
The ark of the covenant has been found!!!😎 What a great design.
I love this build and also voted on brick link.
Thanks so much!
@@JKBrickworks your very welcome! Love the creativity of your builds. The Pop Up Lego book is one of my favourite sets of all time.
I’d love to see you on Lego Masters
love that they shrunk the ark of the covenant...
2:44 That guy is dead. The minifigure had a family and you're all laughing.
3:33 - Ark of the Covenant
Inside the box is the ark of covenant
3:36 must be a real face-melting secret in there
You know it! 😉
I don't get it
@@JKBrickworks we don't get it...?

BELIEVE
3:33 I take it Dr. Henry Jones Jr. is an alumni? Or possibly a professor? Clever
👍
0:24 no way I just got hit with a Bill Nye reference 👏👏👏
You should make a version of your useless machine but with the robot inventor
Did you mean aspiring? Unless these scientists are about to die...
He means expiring, every single room has unsafe features.
Lol watch the video, yes expiring!
Chem lab: Your pizza is contaminated. You will die.
Greenhouse: The carnivorous plant is not a pet. He will eat you. You will die.
Sea lab: The sea monster is not a pet. He will eat you. You will die.
Physics lab: The shrink ray is only tested on inanimate objects. You will die.
Time lab: The dinosaur will eat you. The forbidden artifacts brought back from time will also kill you with ionizing radiation. You will die.
Astro lab: The aliens are real and they will disappear you. Death would be mercy.
Attic: You are already dead.
Outside: You will get run over by a car. You will die.
Ark of the Covenant is in the crate
9906753 was in hangar 51 ;)
9906753 is the identifier number for the crate that hold the Arc of the covenant in Indiana jones 😮
Do the numbers on the box refer to the bionicle of the same name?
Is the temple idol from indie in the crate?
As a scientist I can this looks really cool. What a pity the lego ideas submission is nowadays even skipped, because bricklink simply releases the better models in limited release.
Couldn't event find any detail I should be nitpicking here. Maybe the design of the roof tiling but coming from my liking of the elaborate extreme of the big Ninjago building sets I am still not sure any of those similar designs (or the more conservatively looking but still unique roofing of the Modular Sets) would better fit this building. The interior is great, though.
The academy for *expiring* scientists.
Would thar mean the scientists are dieing a.k.a. expiring?
Amazing build, I especially love the greenhouse and all the details, though is the name of the build a typo? Is it meant to be aspiring scientists?
The official name of the building is with Aspiring, but the locals have renamed it due to the number of past 'incidents'.
@@JKBrickworks Ok thats cool, cant believe I didn't realise the play on words
hiii!!
Did you mean to name it Expiring or Aspiring?
Any update
If this was a real set, Lego would sell it for at least 300 bucks.
Ark of the covenant
im guessing there's a dino egg in the box? cos why else would the dinosaur chase the dude back through the portal
The dinosaur smelled the croissant on the table. 😁
@@JKBrickworks o🤭🤭🤭🤭🤭
Why is there a game controller in the oceanography lab?
*Why is there a game controller in the oceanography lab???*
LMAOO it's literally for the submersible
The ark of the covenant?
Why are they expiring?
i was wondering if you could make pac man or something like that?
These are beautiful - the name confused me a bit. Why expiring instead of aspiring?
It's obviously a play on words. The official name of the institution is The Research Academy for Aspiring Scientists, but due to a history of unfortunate 'incidents', the local residents have started using Expiring in the name.
@@JKBrickworks I can see how that would be the case with all the hidden elements of skeletons and disasters! Very clever
