Swirl is also very strong when used against a lot of enemies. Moreover, Venti's burst can suck enemies. So it can maximize swirl elemental reaction.

You hit the spot there. People say elemental mastery is rare to get, but when you get elemental mastery that's it. When you farm for more classical builds you have to care about the main stat and at least 2 of the substats, and then you have to roll them on the correct slot as you level them. This makes the classical crit build far more difficult to farm.
i haven't gotten a single em on vv though, don't know if I'm just unlucky or what. i have farmed vv a lot since i have all of the anemo characters and mained xiao and venti. not a single em vv :(

Yup I'm really lucky to get EM hourglass on VV set and I just farm at that domain for Xiao artifact glad I got it for my sucrose plus it had crit rate and crit damage on it
im forcing myself to use a 4* vv sands that has EM main stat bc thats the only way i can complete my venti/sucrose build lol

Yeah I went full EM for Venti. Just like hitting the delete button on mobs, so good.
Swirl damage is also like Childe’s marker in that it multiplies depending on the amount of enemies hit. So it gets even stronger in wave based content.

EM build for anemo characters:
Pro:
- Easier to build (just mainstat em, don't care about substat)
- Cheaper to build (no need to lvl up talent)
- Deadlier against mobs
- Can trigger multiple reactions
Cons:
- Shit rate EM atifacts drop
- lvl 90 character
- Against full slime
- Against single target
I wouldn't say that it is a big con since dps is way more expensive because you need to get crit stats and then roll into them
This comment is underrated. TBH do not take this video seriously, I find it missleading because he really does not explain how swirl works, specially on multiple mobs. When you hit 2+ mobs, swirl bounces up to 2 hits on each enemy. That swirl can also cause a transformative reaction (if imbued with electro/hydro) like EC that gets boosted by venti EM. So you are getting both swirl/EC damage taking ventis EM that hits each enemy twice when 2+monsters getting hit.
In this video he just hits 1 boss while the stacked supports are doing 90% most of the job. It would be good comparison but making it clear versus one big monster and doing more than just one random run.
@@marlondiaz4281 Actually, he did hit the boss with the exact same team. So the support damage is actually irrelevant. The point was to prove that EM venti is better. If he manages to outdamage DPS Venti with half the swirl reactions (because it was a single target damage), then the point was proven.
EM is best for deleting a group of mobs. Like I get my Fischl to 455 EM and 1 overload deal 8700 DMG. I don't even have the best artifact.
Also a big factor is that EM builds don't help reactions like freeze, so if you run Venti in Team Morgana you should still build DPS.

the maths say the EM build is stronger, especially when there are more enemies getting swirled. Even stronger if your Em artifacts have good atk/crt r/ crt d substats.

Important note for anyone building EM venti, levels are so much more important now for swirl damage scaling so don't expect as much if venti isn't level 90

I'm more satisfied with DPS build Venti. I 36 abyss comfortably with him as a DPS more than EM. He grew with me as a DPS for long since I was lucky to get Skyward Harp but I decided to tryout EM build (cuz I was farming VV for him anyway)after it got buffed but it made him kind of unstable. Idk but he seems too dependent on another character to trigger the EM build while DPS build can safely maintain DPS and the reactions are just extra DMG.
Same I got his bow now I can't remove that bow when it gives me so much crit rate/crit dmg bonu
The main thing is that while it is unlikely to get an EM mainstat piece, once you have it then the only substat optimisation needed is in the feather and flower. Even then, your EM built character is already close to their max potential reaction damage so it isn't a necessity to get an absolute ton of EM in substats anyways.

@@Zeosth For a full EM build, ER substat is way better than crit damage/rate, because they're not even going to use an anemo goblet. It's preferable to have their ults up before cooldown so they can swirl all the time.

Guys, you can use the windblume if you don't have stringless, they have the same EM and atk. It's passive doesn't buff the swirl, so it doesn't matter, only the ammount of EM matters (I tested both, same swirl damage). I actually put stringless on my Ganyu burst support or Fischl when I need and kept windblume on Venti. Finally that weapon got useful.
On 11-1 on the new abyss I unleashed the Venti ult and was preparing to go crazy with my Childe but they were already dead

Just few tips for those who are interested, if you want to compare different builds for Venti :
-> The purpose of EM builds for SWIRL is doing big damages on waves of ennemies by triggering swirls many times on packed units, so testing it on a BOSS is the worse thing you can do.
-> If you wanna compare the damage output by a single character, unbuild all the rest of your team, because if you don't you're actually testing your team and not your build.
-> If you doing test to compare build, need to do MANY runs on the same situation. Because if you don't the RNG will greatly effect the result and you will fail to compare what you want.
-> If you wanna compare builds AT LAST do a bit a maths, look the numbers you do with different builds and compare it ! That's the bare minimum !
In the end, just never do what he did if you want a accurate conclusion of what to build xD
The reason why EM is better is because of the low multiplier on his Grand Ode. If the multipliers were higher it could be worth investing on crit stats.

I've been working on doing an EM build Lisa with The Widsith book as the Catalyst would be really fun to see the full Results but ive been stuck with crappy sub stat rolls.
I personally would have done some charged attacks for the DPS showcase, DPS Venti with my experience should be used more like a scuffed Ganyu where you plop your Q, use your E and do charged in between the cooldowns of your E.
If you have C1 it's even more important to charge attack since it's hard to miss the two extra shots on bosses as big as Primo geovishap.
But the video shows mostly the Qs potential and for that as we can see EM is definitely better.
Btw it's better if you go to Azhdaha when you have to try DPS damage of Qs like Venti's who stay in one place and deal DOT since Azhdaha (unless underground) doesn't move as much and you won't miss as many damage ticks as Primo geovishap jumping around or walking away from the Q
I'm happy to know that I'm so cursed with hp and Def artifacts that em artifacts never went to waste.

I already have Venti but I still leveled up my Sucrose. I used Sucrose (Lv80) as main DPS on Abyss floor 12-1 and cleared within 50 seconds, got 3 stars. Venti I use on the other team
My venti does a lot of damage but I realized he has *no* EM *at all* and that's kind of the point im using him so he can boost my vaporize and melt comp so i'm just sad because I finished his build yesterday but left him with no EM. I have to pray to get Stringless soon
If you have the Windblume Bow then you can use that as an alternative.

I just keep it balance like everything should be and I am satisfied with him 50% crit rate 100% crit dmg 170% ER Stringless R5 200 EM, Attack sands Anemo goblet crit rate circlet, and thats it he shreds everything like he did before.
I am not gonna go change the build now this is for new users who are yet to build these anemo supports.

My XIao was using an EM clock with crit dmg and percentage in it because the previous attack stats one have trash sub stats then when I farmed artifacts for my venti, I got an attack stat clock with the exact subs as my Venti so I switched their clocks and their damage improved way lot

On my experience em is the way to go i have r3 stringless and r1 harp both 90 even though i have more crit dmg with harp the dmg is the same on e but the tick on q is stronger with stringless

This made me feel good when I got 105 em instead of crit rate and damage
EM will essentially take over as the game progresses and they eventually allow characters to have more than one elemental role.
I had a dps Venti build before, but after the update went live, slapped Viridescent Bow away and replaced it with Windblume. Now my Venti does do much damage, I can't even use his second E, which hurts my burst uptime. Lol!
So, back when i used to farm for Xiao in the VV domain, i got a lot of EM and Def artifacts with godly crit substats. Because of that, i thought it would be a waste to just throw it away. And who knows maybe it will be meta in the future. And I'm so glad that i kept them. Since I've been building a pure EM anemo support sucrose last month, i gained the perfect vv artifacts for swirl. And since it got buffed now, I'm just glad that past me didn't make a mistake on choosing to keep those artifacts.
Just a tip, Transformative Reactions like Swirl, Electro Charged, Overloaded slways have constant damage, meaning...
It doesn't crit. It doesn't increase with elemental damage bonus. It doesn't increase with ATK or ATK%.
Transformative Reaction damage only scales on EM and level of the character.

Em build is not only better, and I don't have to to grind for months for one decent artifact! I'm so happy I pulled for venti
I'm going way extra and trying to get em and crit rate and crit dmg on him. My current progress is 600 em and 55 to 100 cr and cd with r1 stringless. I don't have anemo dmg bonus so to pull out more damage I plan to crown skyward sonnet and get his ult and normal to 8 or 9 each and get him to as high of a level as possible

Personally I prefer a mix of everything, solid 1:2 ratio of 60/120 crit balance, 300 EM, 230% ER, 1800 atk, and an Anemo % Goblet.
I'm still working on getting to my ideal build, but just feeling like it's balanced throughout feels better to me then a super high Elemental Mastery

My Venti has skyward harp and a dps build, but he also has full viridescent set and 100 em to top up, so I think I'm gonna stay with that, also don't have the stringless so it's not like I have other option
windblume ode is a good EM bow, 100 EM is kinda sad honestly. I have 400 EM and get over 250% damage bonus on swirl. It's pretty insane
I'm actually pretty fine, between the 16k that makes his skill and the 2k that makes the swirl it's pretty good, and also it's the 60% bonus swirl damage that the viridescent set gives so I'm pretty ok, also skyward harp kinda match aesthetically with Venti
I am in the very same situation right now, and I got more confused and undecided by this new update.
I use DPS Venti, but he still has some EM from substats. Faruzan also helps a lot like she does with Xiao and Wanderer. And you should also use charged shots to maximize damage, but the skill does a lot so eh

If u want easy build, em venti, if u dont want to use comps, then dps venti. I mean u need the whole team to do what the guy is doing here where with dps venti u do like 120k while using your dps :)
usually people take Venti for his swirl from burst, and since swirl can`t crit, EM seems to be the better option ig
Stringless is slight faster if you slow down 0.75 speed
venti is big debatable subject to build, because it depends a lot on who are you fighting, how many monsters, wich reactions are you doing swirl, for example a venti going against a horde of slimes with a million of EM will not do anything because they are inmune to the same element, but if you go with a high dps venti against slimes then anemo damage will do its job, also happens with shielded enemies like abyss mages, so the best advice to use venti is have a very well balanced EM, crit/crit dmg and attack OR if you want to grind the artifacts then have a dps build and EM in bag and switch them depending on who you fight, also keep in mind venti Q does 20 hits that can crit and on top of that a little 30% of attack dmg that crits too, but almost all reactions cannot crit
true... but the thing is u can always prepare 2 sets of equips... if u are expecting to fight slimes u can always use the DPS set -- or you can always rely on other party members for the dmg... so better to have 2 sets of equips than using a little of each together...

It’s a little triggering because we didn’t really get to see how much the DPS Venti could do. It infused pyro, which the Geovishap had resistance to, and he stepped out of Bennett’s ult so it didn’t snapshot.
Venti was only doing maybe 30% of the damage that he should have been doing.
Floor 12 Abyss with lvl 40 Fischl, Beidou, Xingqiu with no artifacts and lvl40 weapons. I used my Sucrose lvl90 with 800EM as the onfield carry… completed each side/chamber in 1min [aside from Abyss Lecters lol]
