Came here after watching Skillz's winning set 2019. Twenty years on this set makes it look like turntablism has gone backwards. Guess Craze set the bar too high...
Knowing all these records and samples, this is so complicated and displays a true talent. I can watch this 100 times over. I might have already watched it that many times.
@@richardlinck1207 that's Art of Noise - Beat Box. So good. But the crazy part is he juggles that with a kick/snare sample and makes it sound like one piece. SMH.
@JoJo killz 3000 I think you're missing my point I was referring to the new gen djs of today where this guys was coming from and yes serato wasn't invented back then
If you watch the whole contest, a lot of dj's could have won that awesome year : DJ Craze : unbeatable, DJ Crazy B : original turntables disposition and very very close but always second... dj Akakabe : amazing technic and fast moves, dj Dexta from The Avalanches group : amazing choice of music and technic, DJ A Trak : young and true djing talent, DJ Static and DJ Jay K : the most groovy and funky, old School routine ! DJ Mouss : scratch power and great arabic melody, Prime cuts : good technic and nice sound choice, DJ Kollasso : awesome scratching technic and nice music groove, Dj Coki : friendly and funny. Too hard for the juges :) small exception : DJ Lil'Jaz : boring and disappointing...
@@Shedi1210 not really dear :) i dont care about likes, i did that just to debate with more People interrested to that amazing contest that year :) for me, the best dmc battle ever !
I remember being 13 years old seeing this and then his '99 set (masterpiece) and was like 'ummmm, I guess Craze will forever hold the crown". I just cant see ANY of todays (so called) "DJ's" coming anywhere near this level even on digital/traktor/serato/custom vinyl ETC. I do have to give D-Styles some cred though, he fucking RIPPED it in L.A on digital vinyl a couple years back when I saw him live. It was damn near (if not equal to) Craze's '99 level.

Yes well craze was well ahead of the times
Shut the fuck up and go follow your damn boat. Everybody complains so fucking much yet they don’t do shit.
My advice: don’t drink the water

What is the song called that is mixed with Big L? Sounds like a jadakiss/Ruff Ryders beat.
Canibus - Retarded

Love The Lord finesse samples
He was always ahead of the curve
Miss this era 😢
DJ craze always on perfect timing always .....legand
Holy fuck. He kills it with such style & finesse.
Light years ahead of the competition.
First time I seen this, just unreal!
Craze , é de outro planeta , perfeito,👏🥊👽💥💥💥💥💎
Don’t know why anyone else even bothered to enter the competition
1998-2001 were the best years of DMC turntablism, hands down.
No way you can leave out Kentaro's 2002 set tho
@@yzzyxnetwork Yes the last great year and I was there a year later haha
dj craze is just one of the best ever. So insanely clean. Sometimes a bit underrated
nah, underrated? Is a legend
Flawless

@JoJo killz 3000 I think you're missing my point I was referring to the new gen djs of today where this guys was coming from and yes serato wasn't invented back then
Back when it was a turntablism competition
Now it’s an Xbox controller button mash fest
Just push up sound fake
Yo soy de Mexico mezclas bien padre saludos manda mas videos gracias
You need to upload that showcase routine he did in the UK. I think it was 1997.
He dropped pure sickness with Dance to the Drummers Beat.
+DMC World
Anthony why are you being rude to non descript when he didn’t say nothing rude
Saw somebody recommending this under a DMC Final from 2017. Damn, thats sooo much cooler
The bests
Best ever
All 100% Fire!
🔥🔥🔥
Best Miami music act . Then 2 live
GOAT
No! Q-bert is & always will be the goat
I still haven't seen anything quite like this skill wise... He sounds like a producer in the lab cooking up a beat
2020 and still relevant as fuck.
dowp!!!

Not sure how anyone thinks Crazy B was close.
@@PickpocketJones he was second several times in the dmc final, so yes he was very close to win at least 1 title ! Especially in 1997...
It’s the seamlessness and rhythmic ability of craze that’s set him apart
You posting this comment on every video of that years dmc? Needing some likes are we darling?

Canibus - Get Retarded
what decks he using here?
1200s?
yes, 1200 black or 1210s (not sure which)
@@scipreme was always led to believe it was 1200s for the pros and 1210s for show :-)
2:00 starts laying down dubstep grooves... in 1998
Dub step beat its just a 75bpm hip hop beat
4 don't know anything about this...
good but could have had better intro I liked a-track set from 1998 better
this was weak compared to the usa finals set .. im suprised he won here .. still the goat but it suprised me :/
Dj crazy b was better
Crazy B was talented, but not the same ability and confidence. Another level.
Crazy b...manque de confiance. Dailleurs durant son set ses mains tremble....
