It was honestly more of a list of requests from a group that was reluctant to go into city-managed shelters.
They were being treated badly by staff, not getting enough food, not being able to access showers, etc. So they had an encampment that was going well, that the city was shutting down, and the group was afraid of losing their autonomy. Unfortunately, that did happen and they are trying to leave the shelter.
They should have made the same demands in their own home country instead of messing up our own

This is the real truth...instead of having the loyalty to their nations to stay and fix the issues plaguing them making their lives hell there, they left and now reside here where we expect loyalty to our own nation from them. They'll ruin America and then demand entry to Canada.

They're not messing up our country. Colorado specifically is held hostage by this program called TABOR which makes it hard to use our taxes for important services that could have prevented many of the cost of living issues we're experiencing.
I wish it was as easy as blaming one group or person, but it's a history of bad choices that predates the arrival of families who could be great neighbors and friends. If they felt their home country was safe, it's not likely they would have journeyed all the way here.

Most of us can see what's happened. Liberals like importing voters (from other states or other countries). Doing so imports variables. Legalizing pot was a horrible idea in hindsight...it wrecked property values making homes unattainable by almost all Denverites. This only creates even more of a housing shortage at a time when Denver was JUST starting to get its ship righted .

The biggest issue is that the federal government isn't moving fast enough with asylum processing or with work authorization.
So they're between a rock and a hard place: stay and wait for a court hearing and work authorization, or leave and starve to death journeying back home or to a new place.
They're running out of money and options too.

Interesting question. The shelter situations are absolutely not desirable if you can help it, but to answer your question: there have been a record number of evictions this year.
Landlords and private equity companies are holding onto properties, renting them out at high levels, and people are getting pushed onto the streets with nowhere to go.
Unfortunately, hiring isn't looking great either. Especially when people don't have an address.

I’m renting a garage and I work a dead end job after being laid off and I couldn’t get gov or state help with even healthcare nor food..nothing, not even my unemployment benefits but let’s take care of the immigrants first!

No. We all need to ask ourselves what we are ACTUALLY willing to do for foreign citizens and where the line really needs to be. Because I think the line needs to be on the opposite side of the Rio Grande from Texas. Remain in Mexico is a very sane policy, and we need to negotiate with Mexican authorities to build a prison there and a housing unit so that people waiting decisions can safely dwell, and those with warrants can be held until extradited. And anybody who tries to sneak in can get 5 years in aforementioned prison.
