I actually like both looks for different reasons. The first one looks laid back and casual in a nonchalant way and the 2nd one also looks casual but a bit more put together. Different vibes.
Cropped trousers + tee + neutral sandals are fine but the cropped jacket + cropped trousers just doesn't work! I'd change the cropped trousers with long, wide leg ones instead.
Something wrong with me, I like them both😂😂😂 better the second one, but when I'm in my "leave me alone in my cocoon" mood- the first one stole my heart
I love the first one, I really like that billie eilish baggy on baggy look. I think it would really pop w cream converse or something like that instead of the samdals though
I watch you a LOT but this video have me an epiphany on cropped pants!! I NEVER wear them because I have long legs and I don't want to create stumpy ones. The leg chop has been my concern. THIS video just made me see how I can potentially take them on in a flattering way!!! I'm not ready to run out and buy, but I'm now willing to try them on with these considerations. THANK YOU!!!!
Your advice about blockiness and color has been a fantastic help! There will always be people who claim they can wear whatever they want, but they miss the point of videos like these. Your fashion tips, especially how to style block, matured my fashion sense to create timeless looks. Please keep making this type of content about do’s and don’ts because it helps me learn WHY some things can look objectively better and more balanced and symmetrical.
Love the final outfit. I would be fun if you also showed how you would style the other two pieces....since you are showing them I assume you wear them with something.
Very good ideas. But I have a pair of black Dad Sandals, which I like very much. I normally combine them with midi skirts or in summer with shorts. Which trousers would you recommend? Thanks
WHAERE! DID YOU GET THEM GLADIATORS!!! Those are pure fire! You should style them with something. Or just tell us who makes them. Maybe they are in description..
I loved the first look and for me it made sense as a day casual look. The shoes actually adds a good balance to the outfit to make it stylish while the 2nd look will be to go out at night maybe with extra accessories ( bigger earrings?) and it’s a little more traditional but dressier look.
I made this mistake today and I just realized 😂 I'm a plus size girl and often I end up wrapping myself in a lot of loose, long, shapeless pieces all at once.
Aww so glad to read this comment. I see so many plus ladies do this, try to hide, end up frumpy. You have CURVES and there's a way to rock them in a flattering way. I have learned so much from videos about it - keep searching maybe plus size dressing FROM WOMEN WHO YOU THINK LOOK GOOD as pluses.
I like both outfits, they’re just a different vibe. Add something eclectic, black and chunky to accessorize (sunglasses, jewelry, belt, hat) with the first outfit and it could look really cool and unique
What hit me the most in the first look was the number of colours not so much the cut/ style. Also generally tan/ cream and grey colours cannot look harmonious in my eyes😅, too warm vs too cool
The proportions end up perfect… but the 3 colour rule doesn’t mean that you can mix any 3 neutrals you want - neutrals still need to be cohesive. Tan is one of the warmest neutrals and grey is one of the coolest so I’d rarely wear them together in one outfit as base colours. I don’t care much for the literal “colour sandwich” when it causes colours to compete. A grey or beige (oatmeal?) bag to match your pants or top would be a lovely “sandwich” and then the tan sandals would become an accent. The 3 colour rule is worth mastering, and colours themselves have proportions, or ratios if you will.
I see why you wouldn’t wear the jacket, pants and the sandals together. By changing the shoes and the jacket it really elevated the outfit. Love the changes. ❤️❤️❤️ Thank you, Lydia for sharing!!! Sending you, Lydia and everyone here love, light and good deeds.❤️❤️🙏🙏☮️☮️
I know both of these are a look. I’m not a fan of the shortened pants. To me they just look not so much that the leg is shortened but rather that you’ve overgrown the pants. My perception. The 2nd look is definitely more flattering on her overall. I wish I had this kind of eye.
I think it has a lot to do with the proportions of each person's body, in your case your torso is short for that jacket and yes! Chunky sandals will look better with shorts or a skirt because for that to work you have to show more skin. Those chunky sandals are going to look bad with this or any pants, those sandals are to be worn with a light fabric dress, with shorts or a feminine skirt to achieve the contrast. Everything separate is beautiful, you just have to find the balance. my humble opinion.
Bold is not the word that came to mind! Sloppy and frumpy did! Even a 75 year old woman wouldn’t be caught dead in that combo. You played your point very well. Nicely done b
Not bad overall. I do not like this trouser length even with the new styling. It really does optically shorten the legs, regardless of shoes. Also I wouldn't mix brown with grey. This may be acceptable now, but I avoid this combination.
I enjoyed the first look alot. I would of just changed the handbag to black.
I absolutely agree as well. I would have changed the bag too
such minor things that add up to whether an outfit looks well put together or lousy! i appreciate the video
I actually like both looks for different reasons. The first one looks laid back and casual in a nonchalant way and the 2nd one also looks casual but a bit more put together. Different vibes.
At first I didn't like the trousers at all, then you made those small changes and I Absolutely Loved them! 😍
Cropped trousers + tee + neutral sandals are fine but the cropped jacket + cropped trousers just doesn't work! I'd change the cropped trousers with long, wide leg ones instead.
@@lepunksmoothie Agree to agree 😉👍

In Japan this would be a look
I love them both. The first one looked more artsy and creative, the second one flatters your figure more, though it looks more conventional.
Something wrong with me, I like them both😂😂😂 better the second one, but when I'm in my "leave me alone in my cocoon" mood- the first one stole my heart
Ich find auch die erste Variante ok.
I preferred the first. I just loved the gladiators. Those are really stealing my heart lately.
Ha ha you nailed it! it's a perfect" leave me... Cocoon" look. Like wearing a comfy blanket look
I love the first one, I really like that billie eilish baggy on baggy look. I think it would really pop w cream converse or something like that instead of the samdals though

Your advice is dead on.
Subbed for the scissors animation.

😅
Agree. Much better changes
Where'd get the cropped jacket? I LOVE IT
Yes! I like the cropped jacket too.
Incredible, you really know how to style a cardigan. Yor explanations on why the first outfit doesn't work are very helpful ❤
So much sense. Too many over sized items look dowdy. Loved the finished look. 👏🇦🇺
I would love a video tour of your closet!
I would too

the first outfit would also look good with the snake print bag ❤
Great outfit..looking so comfy ❤. For top heavy women, a lower neckline shirt would be nice too.
I instantly knew you would swap out the chunky pieces for something more minimal
I know I’ve been learning from you because I knew how you’d resolve the outfit!
Agreed with the changes!! The outfit looks much sleeker now
Love the cardigan at the end!
Love the final outfit. I would be fun if you also showed how you would style the other two pieces....since you are showing them I assume you wear them with something.
Very good advice, excellent example to show minor changes in proportions makes a great difference
So much more elegant
Just sporty...but far better!
You’re very good at coordinating outfits.
Your demos are so spot on! I love your style ... you have taught me soooo much. Thank you.
Very good ideas. But I have a pair of black Dad Sandals, which I like very much. I normally combine them with midi skirts or in summer with shorts. Which trousers would you recommend? Thanks
I loved the cropped pants and gladiators. Its such. current look.
ohh that shorter cardigan is beautiful!!! I love cardigans

Another great lesson ❤

I just preferred the first look period.
Excellent illustration!
These types of vids are so helpful! Thank you!
Thanks for explaining it.

Loving the 3 color rule! Thank you!!!! 😊
I love that sandals where to get them😊
Could you show us an outfit with the first boxy jacket please?
I like both outfits, they’re just a different vibe. Add something eclectic, black and chunky to accessorize (sunglasses, jewelry, belt, hat) with the first outfit and it could look really cool and unique
What valuable advice in so few words!
Thank you for explaining why it doesn’t work and how to fix it!
Wow! What a difference!! Thank you!
Can you give us more ideas on how to wear/style cropped tops? I’m in my late 30’s and don’t know if I should even wear a cropped shirt. Thank you!
Love your videos Lydia and your hair looks great!!❤
Hi 😊 could you make a mini video on how to make an outfit with that chunky sandals please? ❤
Great! Curious about what you would pair with the first pair of sandals
Love the new wardrobe Lydia 🎉
Thank you , 3 colour rule ❤ more tips like this and any suggestions for curvier shapes ?? Please much appreciated
what a cute cardigan you wear at the end ❤
Wow! This is great!
What hit me the most in the first look was the number of colours not so much the cut/ style. Also generally tan/ cream and grey colours cannot look harmonious in my eyes😅, too warm vs too cool
These tips are helpful. I do t like the pants though. Barrel styles aren’t flattering on most people

You are amazing. Thank you ❤
The black sandals? Not for me..
You have a brilliant eye for style
I ❤ that outfit!!
I LOVE your new closet!!!❤
Like the outfit, love your hair.
i love love love your style! i’m a fan

Was like when I was abroad I had a similar outfit on and I said that doesn’t look quite right, now i know why ! ❤
I agree with you on this one!!! 😍
I'd love to know how you call this style of trousers (and where you got those especially) 😮
My name is Lydia ❤❤❤
Wish I had your superpower - knowing why the outfit isn’t right, then knowing how to fix it. Me finally dressed piles of clothes later.
Love to hear your thoughts!

Both ways look good.
I like the end result!
Those black sandals are so good. Where from?
Those sandals are hideous 😂😂
I don't care for the sandal either, if you're running a quick errand and drive they'd do...However if you are walking, it's a no go for me.
Well done!
Those kind of pants only and I mean only is good for fit and tall women .
Amazing!
Where is the cognac bag from, at the beginning of the video? It’s so cute!
Where is tha trousers Grey???

Love the bag
Instant leg length with the shorter cardigan
The wardrobe color ..
May I please know from where you bought the white bag in the middle of the shelf? It's cute 😢❤
I can’t find the link to the Cardi. So cute!
Love trousers, where it it from?
Those pants!
Style the sandals please
Where is your white T-shirt from?
Bold is not the word that came to mind! Sloppy and frumpy did! Even a 75 year old woman wouldn’t be caught dead in that combo. You played your point very well. Nicely done b
The first outfit is giving Eileen Fisher vibes.
Not bad overall. I do not like this trouser length even with the new styling. It really does optically shorten the legs, regardless of shoes. Also I wouldn't mix brown with grey. This may be acceptable now, but I avoid this combination.
You also didn’t mention that the shoes now match the handbag, which looks very pulled together. Black shoes were too dark.
Okay I know the first pair of sandals didnt go with the outfit but can i have the link to them? I love them
Hi there, could you please let me know where the cropped, boxy cardi is from. Thank you
Thanks ❤❤❤❤❤
Definitely !
Appreciate!!!
What brand are the blacks sandals? I love them
Where did you buy those gorgeous sandals..🙏please
What do you do for wearing a jacket on dresses but not in winter? I struggle with this so much. For fancy, mid, and casual.
