Yea, except that the ingredients cost a lot more and the time involved is far greater. I bought the $250 Ninja Creami Deluxe for the larger sized containers. The containers are $30 for two. You still have to make the ice cream base separately. If you've seen Erika use a strainer, you know that is not something she would be excited about doing.

Ube is big in the Philippines. They put it in a lot of pastries and desserts. Not surprised you didn’t like it, it does have a certain taste lol There are some really good things though. They put it in halo halo which is really good.
It might be a good idea to try a bunch of stuff you've never tried before. Dried fruits are probably one of my favorite things. Papaya spears, mangos, peaches, raisons, and my favorite of all dates. You wouldn't believe how many different kinds of dates there are. Medjool, deglet noor, medina, safawi, khodari, and many more. They are all subtley unique in flavor and texture. Just a suggestion 😉

We have a snack in Scotland called Tablet, made from condensed milk, sugar and butter, and it's the sweetest thing in the universe (well, second sweetest thing 😉). There's a company here called Mackie's which make ice cream and they do a tablet variety, which is my favourite.
Grocery store "Ice Cream" is not traditional real ice cream. It is a watered down type of ice milk with corn based sweeteners, artificial thickening agents, artificial flavors and colors. Real ice cream used to be made from real cream, cane sugar, and natural flavors like vanilla beans, cocoa beans(chocolate), real natural fruits(strawberries, black raspberries, peaches, etc.). In the second half of the 20th century, those ingredients became so expensive that brand name ice cream companies started making fake "ice cream" that was cheaper so they could keep their brand on the grocery store freezer shelf. If you want to taste what real ice cream tasted like, you will have to buy an ice cream maker and use real ingredients. That is what my family did for special occasions like the 4th of July. It was too expensive to make for everyday use. Our ice cream maker is retired on a shelf in the garage and is of the old time hand crank variety. Everyone would take a turn at turning the crank, and we loved it. One of the reasons so many people today have food allergies is because so many artificial ingredients are in processed foods and sauces that are totally unnecessary.
When I buy UBE ice cream I like to mix it. I take a scoop of vanilla, add a chocolate brownie and some cookie crumbles. Then I take about 1 cup of the UBE and throw that in the trash then eat the other stuff. No charge for the recipe.
