- The moulting season is now over for my birds, so there'll be fewer videos! there are 2 major moulting seasons every year, one in the spring for lighter summer feathers, and one in the fall for thicker winter down.
Ava was a little cranky today so I cut her preening session short. She's been flying up to and biting at the drywall near the fire sprinklers...so I have to figure out how to keep her from drenching us.

A lot of juicy pinfeathers!
I am obsessed with all your vids. They have all the satisfaction of pimple popping vids but without the grossness and with adorable birds.
I am so sorry that people keep jumping in to accuse you of hurting your birds that clearly love and trust you instead of like. Googling how pin feathers work. Or even realizing if this bird was genuinely upset she could just leave.
Keep up the good work and give your birds all our love.
Thank you so very much for your kind words and being so understanding❤️! It's comments like yours that make me really happy. Thank you! Thank you!!
I was feeling down for a little bit, and I saw the bright side of things: while sometimes people say things like what you mentioned, it's a good reminder for me to keep being cautious, and maybe they're looking out for my birds, so that's still nice of them :)
She is not flying,she stays there.Soo beautiful...❤❤❤
Thank you so much!!❤️ She did eventually fly off in the end to bite my drywall😭😭
I love this,it shows how skittiter those birdies are.
Many people underestimate this aspect of budgies, the simple fact that she stood there without flying away it's amazin and meaningfull.
She really trust you❤
Thank you so much for pointing this out! Yep, ava is definitely one of my most skittish budgie but she's still kind enough to let me poke at her:)
She trusts you fully. I love to see it, she’s so pretty. Her little scoots like ‘okay thank you gimme just a second tho… okay go’
Hehe yeaaa :D some days she's just not as into it!
Thank you❤️
She's not really up for it!🤣🤷♀️🧡
She was telling me to give her space xD
this wasn't the most soothing but we still luv 🐦🕊️ bird or 🦜
I find these videos so calming and mesmerizing.
Thanks for sharing
Sweet and beauty Ava!!. You're a star!!😍❤️🌟🐦
Thank you❤️❤️ she loves your compliments!!
Yay so glad you posted a new one I have been rewatching your other videos. They are relaxing. I miss doing this to my parrot that past away several years ago.
Thank you so much for being here❤️❤️❤️!! I'll try to make more videos but the birds are "harvested", hahaha!
I'm sorry to hear about your little friend. What was their name?
Her name was Padamay
Very relatable 😰
@@juliehorton1465 what a beautiful name.
Aw, Ava is so beautiful. Don't know how I missed this when it uploaded. You obviously have a great bond with all your beautiful birds. Love Ava's colors! 💛🩵
There’s also very satisfying when you get all the pin feathers 😊
As a bird kid dog mom...there is nothing more satisfying than this before bed...❤
Awww what a beautiful baby!❤🐦💋
Thank you so much!! Ava says hi!🤍💙💛
Reminds me of when you try to do a little kids hair but they just keep squirming 😂
Thisssss hahahaha it's so hard sometimes!
Ava is such a beautiful and dainty girly girl. I love watching her.
Thank you so much!! Ava loves your compliments💕
What a beauty!
Thank you so much!!🥰
Relaxing as usual 😊❤
Yaaaay! Thank you for watching💕
what a sweet girl!
Buggy😮
You can she loves it...if she didn't love this it wouldn't be happening!! I have a bird and sometimes he is not having it- she is soothed by this and preening with her person...those big chunks are my favorite!! Lol idk why!
She is so pretty, maybe the larger tweezers were a bit too big, she seemed calmer with the slimmer pair?
Thank u for sharing.
Yes, you're right!! I didn't notice myself :). I like to try different tweezers for different days!
Thank you for being here💗💗
She has the same colors as my late childhood budgie, Valerie! She and I really had something special between us. And a rivalry with my mom, but it's my mom's fault for provoking her! 😂 I miss my Val Pal.
These series make me happy like at barber☺
I'm so happy to hear that❤️ thanks for being here!!
I’m not an expert by any means, I’ll say that now, but is her nose okay? I forget the actual term, but the area around her nostrils looks like it might be swollen or crusty.
Her cere. She's just old. Over time, ceres get that way 😊
It's possible it could be mites, but I'm unsure if that's what this particular birdie has
🥰
birb
She looks very nervous with the tweezers, but she stayed cause she trusts you.
It is a very beautiful bird. I want to be a good owner to my bird too, but I often make mistakes.
Aw, yes, I see what you mean. Fidgety to chew that drywall. 😘
She's so hormonal now! I bought some more grass toys for her to chew up but she prefers the drywall😭
It feels good, as if you're doing it yourself❤
Hehe so glad you like it!!
Hello Pin Feathers Galore...
FYI just saw a YT channel called Smokey that has #pin feathers with what looks like all your content.
It's almost an hour video.
Oh wow!! Thanks for letting me know. I'll go check it out 😢
@@pinfeathersgalore glad u saw my comment.
Yes please check it out!
I saw a new video being posted and I hold my breath! So nice to get to know their personalities. Ava - always nervous for no reason
This is not accurate I'm sorry. Ava is not nervous for no reason. Wow 😢
@noortjebosma thank you!! I'm so happy you're following along and getting to know the birdies!
I like both your interpretations! Ava is a nervous little girl, even though she's been with me for 6 years. Anything can make her nervous :)
Great video!
Good work!
Budgies and cows have the most kissable foreheads I've ever seen
YESsSsSs!!! I love kissing budgie foreheads!! I'll kiss a cow forehead next time I see one :)
Is Ava’s nose always that swollen? Such a sweetie!
Great question!! This is her breeding cere :) when her hormones settle down, the crusty part of the cere will slough off! It's extra keratin on her nose :)
@@pinfeathersgalore as many parakeets as I’ve had when I was younger I never knew this?? But I only have a Goffin cockatoo and yellow napped Amazon now. And they don’t have these traits. So cool!
@southernrays8823 one of my female budgies does that too. It's good to ask questions when you don't know. 😊
Do you do the pin feathers on their wings?
I have an Indian Ringneck
ASMR
The thing on her nose can be removed! 😊👍
What no don't touch that, a crusty cere is normal you WILL hurt her if you pull at it.
@@emiliebeaudoin1179 I pulled it when one of my budgies died. It wasn't too hard. He had a lovely blue nose and I never knew. 😥
I know nothing about caring for birds. Is it necessary to remove these pin feathers?
From what I know, yes. They can do their bodies but not their face because they can't reach up there. Also it's like brushing a cat. Cats can groom themselves but a lot of them love the extra help bonding time.
@Hannah C Thank you Hannah for responding.
What are you doing to her?
@@CZcamsLeckMich but she looks scary of it. What her did to her budgie .
New feathers grow in, in a clear keratin sheath.when the feather is done growing,it turns chalky white, meaning the new feather is done growing. They can't reach the ones on their heads n neck,in the wild other birds will preen them, but if u have one as a pet,u have to be their flock mate, and preen them off so the new feather emerges. If u leave them there, it becomes very itchy and irritating to your bird. Thank u for my Ted talk 😂
A keratin sheath that protects the feather till its done growing. When it's done it turns chalky and needs to be preened off. So she's helping her lil birdy preen
That bird looks terrified 😢😢 please cuddle that baby
Too close to his eyes with those tweezers.
just use your hands and your fingers you can grab more at once. This is so tedious and the poor bird.
I think she has a cere beak disease
Thanks for pointing this out! Right now she's going through nesting/egg season so she's full of hormones :) her cere will get bigger and brown and crusty from these hormones. Once nesting season is over, her crusty part of her cere will fall off :)
I don't breed my birds though💗
@@pinfeathersgalore okay sorry i was checking, i dont know the differences that well i was just worried
@Pinfeathers Galore i love your videos btw, i rewatced literally all your videos👁👄👁
