  • A patient with symptoms indicating severe aortic stenosis, such as exertional dyspnea and chest discomfort, underwent diagnostic evaluation revealing a bicuspid aortic valve and severe stenosis, confirmed through echocardiography and cardiac catheterization. Due to the added complexity of comorbid diabetes mellitus, transcatheter aortic valve implantation (TAVI) was recommended to alleviate symptoms and improve cardiac function.
TAVI, a minimally invasive alternative to traditional valve replacement surgery, was performed using a bilateral femoral artery approach and a left femoral venous approach. Pre-procedure administration of intravenous Heparin ensured anticoagulation, while thorough hemodynamic monitoring maintained patient safety throughout.
Our Premier Elite Cathlab at Innvolution played a crucial role, providing precise fluoroscopic guidance and visualization during catheter placement and valve deployment. Integrated hemodynamic monitoring tools allowed real-time assessment of aortic pressure, heart rate, and oxygen saturation, ensuring procedural accuracy and patient well-being.
Following the successful valve implantation, post-procedure imaging confirmed optimal positioning.
