Worked the Ricky Skaggs & Kentucky Thunder show at Northern Vermont University a few weeks ago, heard Paul sing this, and I haven't gotten it out of my head since. What an introduction to bluegrass
I was fortunate to hear Paul sing that song Oct. 2016 at the Harris Theatres of the Arts in Folsom Ca. Oct 2016.That was one of the highlights of the Ricky Skaggs and the Kentucky Thunder concert.
Paul, my wife and I came up to St Augustine one night years ago to see you with Ricky and KT. I have heard you many times sing harmony in a live setting. That night, however, we heard you sing lead. This was the tune. What a treat for the ears! Hopefully, we will cross paths somewhere down the line.
Been listening to this since it came out on video. Can't quit listening to it. Had the opportunity to do shows with all these guys over the years . Backing my wife Jenni Lyn across the US. Most of these guys are my very favorites .Stewart Duncan kills me with that beautiful fiddle work . Paul is the best background singer hands down .and does this number better than anyone. Jenni got an invitation to go to Ricky's studio in Hendersonville Tnn. Was one of the highlights of our career.
Oh Paul, I could listen to you sing all day! You have one of the best male voices in bluegrass music anywhere. I saw you perform this song live at the One World Theatre in Austin, Texas, it was great then and this version is even better!
Cracks me up at the end, when Bill said: "Stay on your feet, we're gonna break for lunch." Jamming in the morning! As for the song, Bill Monroe was very innovative....power and drive were his strengths. Paul Brewster is a singer's singer, a golden voice with nuance and amazing phrasing. It doesn't get any better. You Have Bill Anderson, Ricky Scaggs, The Whites, Jerry Douglas all mesmerized by the performance.
My goodness Paul Brewster. Such an exquisite rendition! I have listened to your harmony parts for so many years. It is an absolute pleasure to see you at the "big" mic. And that band... just wow man! The mandolin accompaniment is fabulous. The fiddle could not be more perfect throughout and especially at the break. POST MORE!!!
And I will also say that I had the absolute pleasure of hearing Paul sing this live recently in Myrtle Beach. I could have listened to it over and over. What a great, great song and a great, great voice.
Paul has an amazing voice, and this is him at his best. I was so sad to hear of his retirement. He had a great career and to cap it off with Ricky Skaggs (the ultimate imo). Best wishes to you Paul.
Who`s the ass holes that have given this song a thumbs down. That was the most perfect rendition that I ever heard. I might be a Canadian but I love Bluegrass and wish I had been in Kentucky and lived there where I could hear this type of music all the time. God bless my southern friends and I will hold them as dear members of my family. Love that music////////////////
Richard Mangelsen I can’t believe it either ,,,,,,it happens in all genres of music ,,,,,,I don’t know why if somebody who doesn’t like this type of music listens to it then gives a thumbs down ,,,,,,,,nowt as queer as folk I suppose
I heard you sing this in Steelville last summer! Absolutely cannot find a better version of this song anywhere! I want this as my first dance at my wedding!!
Paul, so glad I was fortunate enough to hear you sing this in person! Last Friday night (25 August 2017) was just incredible! If anyone gets an opportunity to hear Ricky Skaggs and Kentucky Thunder in concert...DO IT!
Why don't the birdsong family from lafollet Tenn. Ever show Joshua the youngest on CZcams. also lots of people would like very much to hear the birdsongs do more bluegrass Christian music.
Paul great singing! Listening to this one before I make my fiddle instructional for this tune. You have an amazing voice! Your fiddle player isn't bad either haha
This is by far the best version of Kentucky Waltz ever! He doesn’t “over sing”it and the fiddle player is awesome.

I was fortunate to hear Paul sing that song Oct. 2016 at the Harris Theatres of the Arts in Folsom Ca. Oct 2016.That was one of the highlights of the Ricky Skaggs and the Kentucky Thunder concert.
