And Marko is one of the very few that could have Floor as a backup singer and pull it off. They are all amazing, and truly world class.
Look at Marco's face when Troy starts to play along - that smile is ... it says everything that needs to be said about the relationships within this band.

I think my favorite part of this performance is just the sheer joy on their faces. They're having so much fun together, and they're so happy for each other. That kind of harmony in a band is just not always seen, but it sure is appreciated.
Nightwish have no egoes look at how happy the rest of the band are for Marko as he comes back Floor clapping him acknowledging his talent as an equal .She was the final puzzle piece .A singer that can do it all humberly and have the experience of her other bands to fall back on .World domination in music awates .Covid permitting !!
My favorite part of this video is at the end, when the song is over, Floor’s smile...clearly so happy for Marko’s success.

And THAT'S how you totally ENTHRALL 20 000 people! He just OWNS the place. Total , iron self confidence, genuine talent and skill. He gives us a beautiful , old fashioned waltz to set our imaginations dancing.
Marko's voice is coooooooool soft silk, home made butterscotch and just a dash of aquavit, all mushed into my ears. I'm not complaining.

Marco wrote this song musically and Tuomas added the lyrics. Marco is an amazing acoustic guitarist. He has had classical guitar training. Marco is actually one of the godfathers of Finnish metal. His band "Tarot" was one of the first Finnish bands to make a mark on the rock scene back in 1986. Loved your reaction to this beautiful and haunting song about a lonely lighthouse keeper.

Marko wrote this song and I believe Tuomas did the lyrics. There's a great official video of this that's worth checking out.
I think having read that Marko did everything and Tuomas added his magical touch as always haha

Tuomas Holopainen: " I would have been willing to pick this up from the Dark Passion Play album as a single, if the singer hadn’t just changed( Tarja ----> Anette 2006). A Celtic song that Marko played a couple of years before, in the back room. Saying it would properly not sit for his band, Tarot. It flashed through my mind, this song is about a lighthouse keeper by the way. So Marko finished the song, and I did the words. Little Elegia, a poetic song, about a lone lighthouse keeper. And no symbolism, for once, direct storytelling. This song is what we can play in gigs acoustically ”.

Ocean is a very, very appropriate metaphor when it comes to Nightwish. Tuomas, as you might know, intended to become a marine biologist and ocean is one big love in his life. Ocean appears literally, thematically and metaphorically in tons of Nightwish songs. He (and many fans) has even called himself an 'ocean soul'.
Marko is a big fan of Jethro Tull. Have you ever heard them, it’s obvious in this song (which has Marko’s music and Tuomas’ lyrics).

While the lips are still red. That is one hack off a song, also! Especcially the Wembley version. You will love it. The lead vocals are from Marco, back up is Floor. Ebow/ guitar with Troy is magical!

Marco formed his old band Tarot in the early 80s when Floor wasnt even born yet and Tuomas was maybe 4 years old 😁Marco is old cat and i remember listening Tarot around -85 here in Finland.

Rocky, you'll see Marko use this double neck in various places, I'll not spoil it by saying where; however, it is a Warwick/Framus Infinity/Panthera, seriously heavy and as a custom shop build to order, seriously expensive too. If you look I think you can see the Warwick "W" logo on the bass headstock and Framus on the 6 string.

I love crazy powerful symphonic Nightwish, but I'd love to hear an acoustic concert from them... Unplugged versions of their songs. They are so talented I know for sure it would be amazing. The "How's the heart" acoustic version on Planet Rock is even better than the album version (imho) and "Nemo" sound also great on acoustic. And they have alredy made some acoustic versions on the Baltic Cruise ("Edema Ruh", "Alone" from Heart)... Just Tuomas on the piano, Marco and Emppu on acoustic guitars, Troy on pipes/flutes/bouzouki etc., Kai on percussion and Floor/Marco/Troy on vocals...
