Low BTU, no good in wind, no ignition, and its heavy, sounds like a great camp stove that does !
Hey there Ernie… I have been using my BRS 32 for a while now. I did buy mine from Ali as I have “a few” stoves so I didn’t mind the wait. I bought mine to take in my kayak on river trips and it just works. I do not mind the lower BTU output as I am not cooking on cast iron nor trying to do the “instant” meal. Making a hearty breakfast while heating water in my Stanley French Press for coffee is a snap. The case is the best and tucks away nice in my waterproof bags. Thank you for sharing.
Just what every High Mountain "Hermit" needs to cook himself up a FEAST !!!
Hello Ernie. What an ingenious stove design. Just when you thought that the manufacturers out there have exhausted the possibilities, you discover something like this on your channel. If that's not worth subscribing, I don't know what is. Great video. Great looking product.
That's got fish fry written all over it. Ordering one now!
Ernie, I ordered one of these stoves as soon as I finished watching this video. I'm building an off-road camping trailer and this stove seemed like just the ticket for cooking versatility. I have quite a few stoves, including several Coleman suitcases, but I really like the compact storage case for such a large stove. I haven't fired it up yet - too busy building. Thanks for the excellent video.
Iridium242 reviewed this recently. It looks good. I was thinking about getting a dual fuel (butane & propane) stove, but this with adapters would give you tri-fuel capability with double the burners.
That’s cool Ernie
This stove would be a great addition for a teardrop trailer when keeping’s things light and compact is a priority. Thanks for the review. I think a propane adapter would allow for a larger, cheaper heat source.
Interesting stove, reminds me of my all time favorite Coleman Power Max basecamp two burner stove. Wished I got one of the adapters to use regular fuel canasters. Anyway all most the exact same stove from 1990s
1045 at night and now I have to have coffee!! Lol. Great review. Thanks for sharing.😊
Now I've got to buy another stove!!! Thanks, Ernie.
It’s a cool form factor… nice case..good value if it holds up.
I was searching about this stove for the second time yesterday, wondering how come your channel hadn't already covered it, there it is!
How are you Doc, really like your videos and enthusiasm. Keep well and raise hell. Dave & The Girls
Not something I’d backpack with but I will be buying one for my camper.
Cool video 😊 I had a great time watching! Tyou.
You should do a best alternative. I'm actually starting to check for doublers to choose if I want to bring just an ultralight or another stove that is large for pans or combine 2 stoves I feel will fit the purpose keeping it lighter. Also if you talk double stove it means COOKING so simmering is very important on my side.
very cool and really useful
Nice video, Dr. Ernie. The stove has it's place and purpose that is for sure.
I bought one of these stoves mostly out of curiosity and have cooked on it a few times! I like it, however, I stick with dual fuel stoves for the reason that I don’t want to depend on those pesky fuel canisters if I am ever stuck one day! I grew up in Louisiana which makes me a born prepper, due to the floods and Hurricanes that had constantly beat the crap out of us! I am glad you FINALLY did a review on!😂 I also watched a bunch of videos on how to refill those pesky propane canisters but I hear you become a felon if you put them in your vehicle and drive around with them? Plus, they are kind of dangerous to refill! Anyway, as a retired Marine and having had used the duel fuel stoves in every climb and place, I stick with what I know. I love you man, and would consider you to be my doctor except if you did colonoscopies! 😂
Thank for reviewing my request, god bless you always
Stove looks great 😊
Pretty cool!
Kept checking to see WHEN you were going to show this stove.🧐🧐 Bought it a few weeks ago because I had to add to my collection, lol!
Good review
The highest output is not necessarily the best test for how to get a good boil. Turns out, these stoves on low with a cook pot that has a larger circumference will boil just as fast as a high power stove.
Good review and I like the SCAD t-shirt.
I own this and really like it. It’s well engineered.
I hope they make a titanium version in the future but that would be a very expensive stove which this isn’t.
I know what you mean about wanting it as soon as you see it
Good for kayaking, canoeing or motorcycling 😉👍
I bought this stove last November to use instead of my Coleman Triton because of its compact form factor. I have used it on butane but mostly I have been using it on propane with an adapter and have used it for over 50 meals, and I love it just as much now as when I first got it. This unit is awesome. I have used it down to -20C (about -4F) and had no issue on propane. The simmer control is great on it as well. I did use some liquid paint on the valve control so that I knew which valve controls which burner. I would buy this stove again in a heartbeat. if you are wondering if it is any good, you dont have to worry. This is worth every penny.
Got mine in Nov. and like it as well. Greetings from The Netherlands to all you stove aficionados!
Wow, that double burner stove looks great.
I'm guessing it cooks faster than most alcohol stoves.
Good review, thanks for sharing YAH bless !
Fire maple lava review anytime soon ... 🙂
I haven’t seen that one before now. Interesting.
Couldn't help myself!
Ordered one already. 😅
Ernie where did you get that filter to filter the coffee Nice and compact
would using a propane adapter and using a 1 lb. propane fuel source make any difference? Thank you for another great video.
Reminds me of the long discontinued Coleman Exponent Xpedition.
Have you ever tested the Lofi Stove? As a biolite fan, pun unintended, and very curious.
I was looking at this and seems nice but after loving my suitcase Coleman, its like carrying a 15" laptop over a 12". Just 2 more lbs and fits in a backpack with more BTU. This thing DOES have use though.
I'm Pete the guy that turned luke onto this stove..
I was so impressed by it's compactness and versatility I had to buy one..
No! it's not a back packers stove, No! it doesn't have an igniter and No! it doesn't crank out Mount Vesuvius BTU's..
What it does have is it's useful for car camping, Kayak camping, big game Hunting, Ice fishing Off the grid living and mainly what I bought it for Motorcycle camping..
I like cooking more than a freeze-dried pouch meal, I like steak, potato and eggs, Green Chili pork Stew making Trail Pizza and make Stir Fry's.
This stove eliminated bringing another stove, it's a solid platform that can handle some heavy pans and down to a trail cup and as small as a GSI micro espresso maker.
The Vaporizer tube feature is a must for cold morning Coffee water quick start, runs on Propane with an adapter very well..
Compact enough to fit in my side Panniers or rear duffel bag.
I do believe if they made the inner cast aluminum frame out of stamped steel like the outer frame they could make it lighter and more compact..
Still under $60.00 on Aliexpress.
So here is probably a dumb question for you. Does anyone make some kind of an adapter to run propane or butane stoves on white gas? I dont like the cylinders that runout and usually end up being thrown away. Dont get me wrong i do have a few of those types of stoves i like and use too. However the white gas jobs i carry the pressure tank and maybe 16 0z more fuel. Just depends how long ill be gone. Seems like there shoukd be sone adapter i could attach to the pump up whitegas btl to work with the other kinds of stoves. Just a thought. You are the stove guy after all. If anyone would know it is probably you! Thanks!
Yes it does have the wow look, but, I would compare the burners to a SOTO windmaster or MSR PocketRocket Deluxe rather tank the Coleman style burners do to its build. So in saying that and using the SOTO or the MSR {I do have both} how would the BRS 23 burners alone compare. I do like this style.
You didn't mention that the stove with adapters can run off of 3 types of bottled fuel. Thanks for doing the review, I have been looking for a 2 burner stove to add to my camping gear this one looks like it might be what l'm looking for.
Is this confirmed? My reading online has given mixed results. I won't buy this thing if it can't run on propane with an adapter.
Would it be possible to say 'cool' more please?
😀
🖐🏻🏴
Can u adjust each?
Yes, there is a valve for each burner.
Yes - 2 regulators at the connection point with the gas can
That's pretty cheap for a very big burner. 🤔
seen reviews of this and it's FLIMSY!
the sides bend really easily
Nay just far to expensive for a couple of burners.
I won't buy anything from China. I'll keep ising my Coleman stove.
