- One of the hard parts of clearing and managing land is getting rid of the debris. Stumps are especially challenging, but if you let the dry for a bit, and get most of the dirt off of them, they will burn. It just takes a little bit longer.
It is very satisfying to get rid of the debris and also enriches the soil when you spread it out.
Break Heart Orchard is a small farm that we are carving out of previously forested land.
We will be putting out videos on a weekly basis to document this journey as we build our own home and create our dream farm and Orchard.

I'd fence your garden against deer, rabbits, moles and voles etc. And I'd put in raised beds with a water line. You will want a timer on the water because you have an orchard to tend, along with so many outside chores yet to finish, like a barn for vehicles. Couldn't hurt to run water lines along the back to containers and coop, etc.
We have been talking about water storage and distribution. It’s just a matter of what and how.

Hello, it's been a while since the last video, I hope the family and animals are doing great.
My house construction is slowly moving ahead. We recently got the trusses delivered, we raised half of them up by hand and winches, temporarily braced them just in time for a massive storm with wind gusts up to 60 mph. Watching thousands of dollars and many hours of hard labor being at the mercy of mother nature was very nerve-wracking. The trusses survived, but that was something we will never forget. Now we just need to finish the valley trusses and finally sheating to dry in the place. Lots of hard work ahead, but trusses are the last of my "first time doing it" list, and my actual building experience kicks in.
We had many days and nights of worry when the wind w as whipping thru this place. We lost several thousand dollars of materials in a storm early on so we became more careful about how we stored things. But I remember having sips walls ip and braced with just a couple 2x4’s and not knowing what to expect when we got back. Congratulations on weathering the storm.
Well duh!!! Way to go on trying to do a melt down to a new camera LOLOL....soooo sorry really I am. We ALL learn by experience ...."sometimes"!!! Very nice bonfire for sure. Everything is really coming together nicely looking GOOD all around now. It has taken a long time to get to this task and it is exciting. GOOD JOB!!!

I don’t think we are done. We’ve just been trying to adapt to schedule changes and most of what we are doing on the farm has been so mundane that it doesnt make great video.
