That’s not how it works
it factually is, look up statistics. there's an eternal group of age 10-18 yr olds who will buy garbage AAA releases with their parents' money and not care about the quality. That's how they keep getting away with it. It's a series that's designed to be sold to casual gamers
Black ops II was my favorite black ops. No jet packs, no sliding. No lazer guns. You could pump stop hard if you were good. It didn’t care about your opponents feelings.

I quit cod for a long time because of bo2. One of the snipers was insanely op also the fal and smr was pretty annoying and when they fixed those issues i felt handicapped if i wasn't using the msmc.
My friends, and I started saying "It's not our turn to win" when we played Cold War multiplayer.
Kinda sad that Kyle got tired of COD even though he was in the advertising for Black Ops 2.

Black Ops 1 was my game. I’m 24 now. I grew up being 10-12 watching people like woody, xJaws, wings, gunit etc. I’ve got to the point now where after a long day at work I don’t want to spend it getting slapped by 14 year olds every game and having to turn to a complete MLG sweatfest to compete. Like Kyle I find myself gravitating towards single player games and Co-Op games just because I want to enjoy gaming. I want to spend 12 hours in some random immersive world where you role play within this world and have fun. If I do play multiplayer it’s often Rust, minecraft etc because it’s more of a chilled experience than call of duty on a console in 2023

love how activision said mw2 would have a second year of continued dev support, then the game does bad, and they turn the update for mw2 into a $70 excuse for "mw3" yet with all mw2 maps and guns smh its so embarrassing
The matchmaking literally killed the franchise for me. I used to preorder them all, go pick them up and stay up all night on energy drinks playing.
The SBMM makes it so I feel like I am being funnelled down a algorithm. If I have a good match, I get put against gods for the next 3 matches.
I got MW2 for free and barely played it.
I recently hooked up my 360 and bought xbox live again, been having a blast on the OG cods. Still a pretty sizeable playerbase on most of them.
Man, I'm only 2 years younger than Tyler. So when he said he hasn't been good at cod since MW2 that kinda took be aback. I haven't been into cod since Cold War but I fucking destroyed on that game. I guess he just never really tried to get good again.

My problem with cod skill based match making is im afraid to do well in a match because every time i do, it throws me way too high in the skill level, and i just get annihilated. In the beginning of the last cod game (they keep changing its name), i was dominating most matches.
They should just add a competitive mode like counter strike
@@PKAClips I haven't played CoD in years but I thought that was the intention of hardcore mode or whatever they called it in BO1, just like CSGO lobbies you will always end up with griefing but it did seem that more serious people tended to play stuff like hardcore demolition as opposed to the braindead 200 point TDM games.
Hard-core mode was for a more realistic feeling shootout.
Less shots to kill, less hud, no minimap.
It doesn't take more skill really, its just a less arcade style of playing. Instead of run and gunning and getting headshots, hard-core mode if for players who want to play tactical and use cover.
Exactly. Because of SBMM, there's no incentive to do well, and as a result, you can't get a barometer as to what your skill was like in older cods.

They had a ranked mode on black ops 2 with SBMM and a ranking system. Why don't they just add that for players that wanna play competitively??
I played the first 4 cods, Blackops 1, Blackops 2, and MW2 (original), I stopped playing COD after Blackops 2 at my friends house, and the last COD I owned was Blackops 1. Coming back to the series for the first time since then I picked up MW2 2022 and enjoy it for what it is, but it's clear that the priority shift in COD has taken hold, it just feels like the modern games have less to offer but that's my opinion.

The last top tier COD was Black ops 1. There was so much content in that game and it met the balance of conventional and special weapons. Whether it was realistic or not, it was a blast.

Skill based matchmaking has me losing domination matches after having 20 captures, 90 kills and 40 deaths. If you're good, its ruined the game.
I bought modern warfare 2 a couple months ago and within a week was bored of the game so I basically wasted $70
I preordered mw2 and then canceled and got a refund bc it was so ass. Idk why people keep buying the new cod when its consistently ass and they only want to cater to people with no thumbs

I played cod every year for 10 years, and it was vanguard that killed the franchise for me. I enjoy the campaigns a lot, i wish they had a collection with all of them plus the option for coop.

My situation with COD is the opposite. Nobody wants to play with me because my lobbies are so sweaty. My best friend will literally not play COD with me. Its not fun, i meet cool chill people and they suggest COD and its just a full on sweatfest. SBMM is trash and I appreciate you guys for this standpoint

I just got a ps5 and it came with MW3 and it is pretty underwhelming. The open world campaign was so disappointing. And warzone is by far the worst BR i have ever played.

I haven’t played a cod since bo2 and the new mw3 multiplayer isn’t that bad. Yeah there are issues but older cods were never perfect either. I will say that what they did to zombies is a complete disgrace. And, it shouldn’t be $70. I get that, but at least I can put a decent amount of hours into it. People are buying like $80 games that have like 20 hrs of gameplay, eg hogwarts legacy.
the sbmm doesnt even work because cod doesnt balance the game. i quit playing after mw 2019 because of a multitude of reasons. one being the sbmm. i was in a super high sbmm and at that level you start realizing the people youre playing against dont have that high kd because their that good at the game they have it because they use broken loadouts. in 2019 the thing that was getting very annoying was getting into entire games full of people using shotguns that can one tap at way too far of a range and you'd play 15-20 games before you'd get into one thats not like that it was so cheesy. the games net code is also garbage. the amount of times i was a few off a nuke and died after shooting someone for half my mag in the head to have them spin around and shoot me once with an smg was straight bullshit. they eventually decided that the best way to handle there cheating problem on wz was to start shadow banning people with high kd's that got reported instead of using a fucking anti cheat. needless to say i was playing gunfight with my buddy one night, i was on fucking fire, kids kept hackusating me and reporting and i got shadow banned. if you dont know shadow banning was something that was happening to a lot of streamers and high kd player. they basically gave you 0 notice and just made it so you had like 300 ping for a week and would just disconnect from the match. i played maybe 3 matches after my ping finally went back to normal and uninstalled once i figured out what had happened.
