- Today I visit the Famous grave of Caron Keating former Blue Peter, Tv and Radio Presenter.
Caron was born on 5 October 1962 in Fulham, west London, to an English father with southern Irish roots and a Northern Irish mother.

Beautifully done, as always. In Gloria's book she talks of how Caron's husband drove through the night to bring her home to Gloria's house. Caron died in her own bedroom, the very next day, surrounded by her family. It was so moving and to this day one can tell that Gloria remains utterly heartbroken x

I wrote to Gloria not long after Caron died and she wrote back and I could tell she'd read every word and responded to the details of my own life I'd shared. It was not a generic letter. Gloria is a lovely lady and its tragic Caron died so young. RIP Caron
Shockingly young. I remember her on Blue Peter and other kids programmes and of course her mum Gloria Hunniford. May she rest in peace.
No, it's not shockingly young, at all. People die in their thousands at this age and younger every year, if she wasn't in the public eye no one would batt an eyelid.
My husband died 5 months after Caron . They were the same age. He died very suddenly. I didn’t even get a chance to say goodbye.
I remember standing at his graveside on the day of the funeral. At no time did I feel that in the coffin being lowered in to the ground
contained my husband . It was just his shell. Almost 20 yrs on I still think of him everyday but I never go up to the cemetery. He’s with me very minuet of every day . I don’t need to go and stand at a grave to remember him. He’s looking down watching over me and keeping me safe until such time we are together again.♥️🌹
This was so sad! It just goes to show how unpredictable life is... Tomorrow is not promised, so love & appreciate the people who are in your life, especially family.

Happy I didn't bring children in this world. Happiness in this world is just a little evil tease compared to pain,suffering, old age, going to the grave young and before your parents. Nope , I don't buy what this real world is selling. It's extra terrifying seeing pregnant women or women with babies and young children in this evil cold world 🌎. So Many young graves than older graves. I go to different cemeteries and all have in common is more young graves than older ones. It really cements into your soul ,that the world promises you NOTHING !

Never forget her mum crying on an interview not long after her daughter died bought tears to our eyes. Bless her.

It is a long and wonderful poem that starts with birth, ends at death and everything in between. Actor Richard Harris recorded the whole poem which was released as a CD in the 1970's. I lost my mum on Mother’s Day of this horrid disease my mum was only young she died 1 year after I got married at 19. I hope one day they find an absolute cure.
I had the absolute pleasure of meeting her at a store opening back in 1989/90 with John Leslie at children's World perry Barr Birmingham she was so polite kind and absolutely stunningly beautiful.
The world is a little bit darker without her but heaven is a whole lot brighter with her. God bless Caron keating. RIP

My mother's biggest fear was seeing one of her children die before her. She left 7 of us behind at the young age of 54. There are now two of my siblings and my father gone on ahead to meet her.

Paul thank you for visiting Carons grave . I read her Mums book she wrote telling Carons story it was so beautifully written it was sad and funny I cried I smiled my heart broke for her whole family who loved her dearly. She was a stunning looking girl a very bubbly presenter she defiantly took after her mother Gloria who is also stunning. I saw Gloria once at the Derby me and my friend nipped into the loos not realising we had gone into the VIP loos. A door opened and out walked Gloria she said hello I was awe struck by how lovely she was I think I managed hello. But it made my day that she took the time to say hello. Caron sadly passed on my wedding anniversary so I always spare a thought for her. I was reading the other day about her family celebrating her 60th Birthday they went to her grave and then to the pub to celebrate because Gloria said she was the first one up for a party. I thought how lovely to do that she also said Carons boys are 28 and 25 where have the years gone. I think they were 7 and 10 when she passed. I will always remember a lovely bubbly beauty.

When someone puts a flower bed on your grave and edges it with boxtree topiary, you know you did something right and that you were adored.
I was born 1971 and as a kid i really fancied her watching blue peter. ❤ mortified and in disbelief hearing she died.
Had the pleasure of meeting Gloria at her home while delivering some antiques in the late 80s. Very nice lady.
Christopher Dane: That chap was if I remember correctly had something to do with the development of fluorescent pigment.
He was a really decent chap, honourable, a real gentleman. A local chap.
His demise was very sad indeed.

Nice tribute Paul, I lived in Edenbridge for 3 years and I attended Horticulture college to train for a Gardening City & Guilds. Part of my quest for more knowledge was spending a couple of months at Hever Castle next door. The Head Gardener at Hever is called Neil and his staff at the castle maintain Caron’s grave hence why it’s so well kept. I myself was part of the team that maintained it. Godspeed to you Paul.

Heard of Caron Keating and her mum. Think she was in Blue Peter i stopped watching that show years ago was never keen on the program when i was a kid, but watched it with my late brother.
Christopher Dane was a company director from Hever, Kent.
I remember when Caron died. Shocking for one so young and vibrant. I remember reading a book about her written by her mother, Gloria. Caron remained hopeful and full of life right to the end, even when her husband was driving her overland from Switzerland then on to her mum’s house. They both knew it was almost the end of her life, and it was a very poignant chapter to read. Especially when reading about the sunrise they saw on the morning they’d almost arrived home.

Caron Keaton. She was a beautiful young lady. Blue Peter was apart my growing up. I know she battled breast cancer for 7 years throughout her young life. I know Gloria her mother has never been the same after her daughter’s death 😢 So sad for her 2 boys. But I know Caron’s memory will live on through their Grandmother Gloria. 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼

I had a crush on Caron when she was on Blue Peter. She was very talented and down to earth, and sadly left this earth too young… In 2012, and 2014, both my Sister and my Sister in law died from breast cancer. And one of my brothers has cancer now, after he was exposed several years ago to asbestos, when he was doing some building work. But during lockdown, when he couldn’t access the help he needed for treatment for pneumonia, after he got Covid, it triggered inflammation in his body and the cancer that was laying dormant in my brothers lungs started spreading. They can’t cure it, but the doctors are trying to extend his life for as long as possible. Life is so precious. Sometimes we forget that, but life’s woes remind us our time on earth is limited, so we must appreciate the time we have with the people we love. 🙏🏻🍀
Hard cold reality you hark, ,but delivered movingly and as candidly as one can,,,you may not realise Caron started here in her mother's place of work BBC Belfast before they moved to the mainland ,,she is dearly missed,,
@@Jimmie567 Thank you, I appreciate that. Describing our pains in words is not hard, but sometimes it is when we experience emotional numbness. I never knew Caron started out on her career in BBC Belfast, but I remember her Northern Ireland accent, whenever she presented stuff on TV. So true, she will be sorely missed by many, especially her mum, Gloria Hunniford. It’s like, a mother should never outlive her daughter. Reminding me of my mum and sister. My mum died Dec 2011, and in April 2012 my sister died, only a few months later. But my sister was brave, and selfless, because she never told us, my family, she was dying when we were at my mums funeral, knowing in her heart she would be lying alongside our mum, interned in a memorial plaque… But looking back, it would of been cruel if my sister had passed away first, before my mum, putting my mum through unbelievable pain, both emotionally and physically, and I’m thankful to god it didn’t happen that way.

You were next to the grounds of Hever Castle, the childhood home of Anne Bolyen. I believe Anne's father is buried in that Church. I used to work at the Castle as it is near my home town. The Pub is really lovely too!

Well done Paul. Great words at the end about getting yourself checked out. Something so simple, yer so important. I have a friend who is battling Prostate cancer. He ignored the symptoms and now is fighting for his life. Thanks for bringing it up. Such a shame she died so young.

Few days cloud after that....shock horror!
Then since October 20th averaged 26c
