This a mean chune. I love hearing the diaspora connection in the sounds with heavy afrobeat influences. As time goes on I think the caribbean and africa will exchange more culture and we will hear elements of our different sounds coming together. The reconnection through music is beautiful

Jacob Cham no I mean afrobeats. Afrobeats does have influences from other genres from the diaspora but the sound is still predominantly west african. This isnt mainly a dancehall sound but mainly an afrobeat sound, of course their are some dancehall influences but its distinct. i dont see anyone thinking this is dancehall off their first listen. Thats why its called afrosoca. To say its mainly dancehall would take away from their contributions imo. I just like how the sounds and styles are converging with each other. I see all these artists coming together at the same level reconnecting the diaspora through music.
Love that we are uniting our sounds...uniting with africa ...reconnecting again after so many years of being separate . Definitely afro soca and not dance hall.
