Berlin - a film photography trip | part 2

Hi, this is a series of vlogs form long weekend in June 2023 when we visited Berlin. This time I’m trying my ways with rangefinder camera and a 35mm lens.
Generally speaking, 2023 has been the year of photographic mishaps for me - but maybe because I tried new things. In this episode I condensed our whole trip to Berlin. I'm learning and exploring the new experience of shooting a RF type camera. It's definitely a challenge if you prioritize in-camera composing.
My photographs were shot on Double X with orange filter and developed in XTOL 1+1. @alagorska color photos were shot on FM3a with 50mm f/1.8 Nikkor lens on Kodak UltraMax developed in ECN-2 process.

Good photos, calm atmosphere, it takes me back to Berlin in October 2020 when there was quarantine and no tourists 😅
Is double xx so grey even with orange filter? I have one roll to test, curious how it’s going to turn out

@@Xisbrezatsgzormd I’d say it depends but it’s a cinema film all in all so the raw scans of a properly exposed negative tend to be flat and you can add contrast in post up to your taste. This was my first time with Orange filter, I use yellow one as a standard filter all the time. If you’re curious about double x I recommend checking my Instagram @szach.matt - I tend to include some tech details to each photograph and have a couple of saved “stories” on double x and editing.
