Pan African Speaker Series #01 - Issa Diabaté

Our first speaker in the Pan-African Speaker Series is renowned Ivoirean architect, Issa Diabaté. Diabaté is the co-founder of the Koffi & Diabaté Group, and managing director of Koffi & Diabaté Architectes, headquartered in Abidjan, Côte d’Ivoire. A graduate of Yale University, Diabaté has worked for firms in Côte d’Ivoire, the USA and France, where he worked under Jean Nouvel on the Cité Judiciaire de Nantes competition. He is a member of Côte d’Ivoire’s Order of Architects, and has led a number of local initiatives that deal with African urban issues and address context-oriented problems. He has presented work at Senegal’s Dak’Art Contemporary Art Biennale, and most recently at the exhibitions Abidjan Now and South Africa’s Design Indaba.
