You three do an incredible job; and it certainly can be felt and absorbed in all of it's totality when you guys are on site.
With regards to the Draper incident. I'm far from a pro level tennis player, but I'm 37, and have played quite a lot of tennis in my life. There are absolutely balls I've hit where I'm not if it bounced twice or not. It's especially difficult if your foot lands at the same time as the strike as it muddles up the sound.
With the uncertainty, it's fine Draper went with the umpires decision. However, I think the right move would have been to replay the point. If he replays the point, ends up losing the match, then sees the replay and it shows that the ball DID NOT bounce twice, I think he could live with that a lot better than the alternative of what he's going through now. Being called a cheat, realizing he shouldn't have actually won that point, and potentially the match. I'd much rather lost on a wrong call, than win on a wrong call. Replaying the point would have absolved him of that weighing on his conscience.
Sounds like a fantastic opportunity for someone with a grounds pass on Monday. So many fine matches/players on the outside courts.
DId they make predictions? Was the main thing I was tuning in for, but didn't hear them
They don’t tend to on the preview shows, look out for the newsletter. 😊

Will Raducanu ever become a consistent top 30 player? It’s really hard to gauge where she fits in the overall tennis landscape. Obviously there was the one outstanding result but since then a lot of injuries, a lot of opting out of events she could’ve entered (French Open, Olympics, various qualifiers). Of course some moments of great tennis too, but these have been far and few between. I wish the best for her, but it’s just really hard to know what kind of tennis career she’s going to have.
Umm, she's pretty much made it to the quarterfinals of her last few matches. If she keeps doing that on average she's top 20. She's also had more top wins this year than any other year in her career
Seems like she is finding her form again. I think though she needs a bit of a form building run.
@@user-dr5eh6xz2d Yes, the recent signs are good, and she’s also got the belief in herself that she can do it. Hopefully onwards and upwards.
@@Jalleur14325 Yes a few good runs will help, or a tournament win (doesn’t even have to be a major). Hoping for a good year for her.
Radacanu has made herself irrelevant. The criticism of her in some quarters is overdone and so is the interest level in other quarters. She and her father have their own way of doing things - it got them a US Open but pretty much everyone in tennis thinks it's wrong. Let her do as she pleases. She's irrelevant.
Best tennis ad, Taylor Dent trying his heart out to beat an 8 year old on the other side of the net, booms shots at the kid, ball keeps coming back, eventually powers his way to win the point, celebrates like he’s won a grand slam, then the kids parents show up to pick the kid up and it’s Agassi and Steffi Graf.
One of those great but ultimately pointless ads because you remember the ad, but not what it was advertising.
Also, quite like the Sinner Lavazza ads, especially the look on his face when the barista says ‘Aren’t you supposed to be on court?’
No time stamps?
Funny. Andy joked on his podcast that he walked by Jack and was so sure that he wasn’t aware of his comments because of how pleasant he was.
@@tramerritt9770 British Andy 🤣
That's because Draper is submissive. It would be a much better sign if he got angry! Pinned Roddick to the wall! Do you think 22 year old Andy Roddick would have put up with some old Brit calling him a liar?
best tennis ad ever is Dua and Emma (evian) full stop.
What happened to you, i see you in the press conference rooms but no shows... will it just be a weekly thing?
The Lavattza ad they had at Wimbledon was pretty bad lol but I have seen a much better one where Sinner keeps making them do more takes.
The one with agassi was not bad.
The ATP site has not mentioned once the Sinner doping affair, as it had never happened, lack of transparency doesn't help tennis at this perilous time.
David rocking the shorts
Can definitely tell he’s from Sun-less England.
@@tennissir1986 🤣🤣 we haven't had the best summer it's true
@@joannemoore3976Isn’t it conservative there too ? I’m in U.S.
@@tennissir1986 the nation as a whole tends to be what they call small 'c' conservative even though not every would vote for the Conservative party- we recently had an election and the Labour Party came in with a big majority. But people tend to be attached to tradition I suppose, wary of extremes, self deprecating, good at queueing and more likely to have a nice cup of tea if they feel agitated than lead a revolution..I am, of course, stereotyping 🤣🤣
@@joannemoore3976 Great people for sure.
I see EmmaN going as far as the semis … aside from the recent blip in Cincinnati versus Andreeva, it looks like she’s been banging on the door quite well at Bad Homburg (sf), Wimbledon (qf), Toronto (sf) and Monterey (sf). I think the deep courts will suit her counter punching style quite well, even with that floppy backhand of her’s. Fingers crossed for EmmaN.
So far, so good 😂 😂 Let's go EmmaN!
David is taller than Usain Bolt!
Nike Sharapova I feel pretty
100% agreed
What happened between Anisimova and Priscilla Hon? All I've even seen is them being such good friends.
Draper hit the ball is bounced so high into the air 😅 it's obvious what happened to the ball ,if Draper didn't realize that he is really thick.
I totally agree about Coco, surprisingly, not being on during night. I can imagine a world though where Coco asked for a match in the heat of the day with fewer eyes on her.
I mean both choices are not good. Nobody wants to see Coco lose to gracheva which can happen. If gracheva can go 3 sets with iga, she can also beat coco
Bit late but as I went to school in the Highlands and Morag a very common girls name in the seventies as a teenager …I’m trying to join / subscribe as a few things I don’t understand .lbarge ? I’m a mad tennis fan , watched you every day at Wimbledon and love your podcast
Wayyyyy too much emphasis put on the scheduling and generally always how a womens match has been hard done by and put in the wrong slot . If the fans want to watch , doesn’t matter if its at midday or 7pm , they will be there
Yh not sure what the point of just going through the schedule is without making predictions. Can just go find out the schedule for ourselves.
@@nathansimons1054you can also make your own predictions?
That’s not true
Awful the flack Draper has got, but I was disappointed he didn't back the umpire with the same logic that he had to make a split second decision. Instrad he made out that it was essential to have replays (its not). It's perfectly ok that some calls go your way and some don't.. that's just sport, it evens out.
Sinner case: the fact that Sinner fired his physio has flown under the radar. Quite harsh.
I’ll let everyone in on the winner of US OPEN 2024: Jannik Sinner. Sinner gives 0 fucks about anyone. He is hell-bent on perfecting tennis.
Whatever David picks - just go the opposite.
