- This 1978 M151A2 was found in Portugal and imported to the UK in 2010. It was fully restored and back on the road in 2011. Although in good condition, it required some new floor panels along with a load of other parts including seals, bearings, brakes, pipes and even a flywheel and cylinder head. Most of the parts had to be imported from the USA as these are rare vehicle in the UK.

these are amazing vehicles. rallied mine fir over 8 months.
Nice work. Good to see one restored to pristine condition. I served in in the US ARMY in West Germany as a Combat Military Policeman (95B) and drove the M151A2 with trailer...side panels and doors...yea...and it had rusted-out floorboards and the heater didn't work, which made Winter Field exercises an "adventure". Anyhow, I reckon I should thank you for keeping the memory alive - the truck looks awesome! :-) By the way, the bench seat in the back provides just enough space to stow a cardboard case of Coke. With the German winters and no heat, no ice box was required.
Pretty awesome job you have done. I have one in Pakistan. I am restoring it as well but parts are very hard to find here. Good luck and stay safe.
Great Job, im thinking of posting a video of mine. Ive restored it and modified it for daily use. Its my every day ride. Thumbs up from Pakistan.
Are you my old Motor Sargent? Because that's how he thought things should of been done. All we got for the M151A1s were motors packed in a clam-shell container with what seem like a million bolds keeping it together, then when we opened it you found the engine covered in reddish brown sticky ass grease.
The jeep with trailer looks just like I remember and the video presentation was one of the best and as the Gunny would say" THATS OUT STANDING SOLIDER "
Amazing skills and talent! Kudos.
Muito bonito seu jeep.muito orgulhoso de ver esse vídeo.

Our unit had one of these hit something and smash a front fender. It was sent away for scrap. That's what I hated about the unibody. An mb, m38, and m38a1 just needed a new one bolted on.

Juste for you knowlege it's not AM General but Ford ;) (Ford MUTT M151 version A2) nice restauration job!
Thanks for your insight, I know Ford designed them but this one was manufactured by AM General. It says so on the data plate.

What is the serial number on your mutt? I have a 1978 M151A2 manufactured by AM General I'm just wondering how close the numbers are.
That looks great, you have done a really good job on it. Where did you get the repair panels from? I am doing one the same.

Can i buy to you?
Asim Khan sorry I have no parts for sale.
@@sirhc05 Thanks bro
All the dimensions in feet and inches! (Imperial) bitch things to work on! All nuts and bolts UNC or UNF. Hidden behind other panels and sections, bad design to try 'get at anything'! I got one from Vietnam. Had some hours of pain restoring it but it sold well!
