- RESTORING AN ENTIRE BLACKSMITHS SHOP!! Centuries Old Forging Tools Put Back To Work!
We'll do what it takes to get this blacksmithing operation back in working order! Come along as we restore the anvils, power hammers, and all the turn of the century tools that make it all work. This will be the first video in a new blacksmithing series, focusing on the first steps of restoring one of the power hammers.
Here's where you can find the Sea Foam Deep Creep : amzn.to/2t5gXfL
The power hammer would've never budged without it!

The Good of the Land assalamualaikum hy. I'm sory my name is azrul im from indonesia, i so very intresting. Im blacksmith in indonesia. But i dont have job now, can i work in you place. Im sory my english is bad
I'd like to see what you guys could do with an old sterling engine with so much extra heat from tractors and the forge
I could get rusty tools moving again literally all day.
+Hand Tool Rescue I could literally watch you do it all day! Love your vids! Yesterday we found a powered hacksaw tucked away in the back of the the blacksmith shop. I immediately thought of you!
Haha, you already do that.. Hence the reason I'm subscribed to your channel too. And @thegoodoftheland is right, I come across antique tools and my immediate reaction is to send it to you.
i just stumbled here and was about to mention HAND TOOL RESCUE might like this then i saw your comment
Hand Tool Rescue so could I but I use wd40
Hand Tool Rescue same here lel
I love getting old tools working 💪
The water mill in the background ... just a dream!
The old machines were still built for eternity, nice that there are still people who keep them up!
Thank for the video
It looks as if you've had fun. Always good to see people forge...
Thank you for saving the old tools !!
You guys are are great, restoring a peace of history that many would scrap. Good project
+iSTAYuGO Thanks!
Always glad to see a older museum up & running. Wish there were more of them. Keep up the good work !!!!
What a beautiful shop! And the power hammer! Just love it!
+Down to Earth Farm I am very lucky to have the opportunity to get this shop up and running! MUCH MORE TO COME!
The Good of the Land Can't wait! I've got a small brake rotor forge and a trailer n track anvil. Haven't used it in quite some time due to work though.
+Down to Earth Farm Sweet! CANT WAIT TO SEE IT! hint hint!;)
The Good of the Land I made some build videos of it! Haha. I've got three days off from work so maybe I'll try to fire it up. Didn't have much luck last time.
You brought it back to life.
+Nathan4071 Cant wait to hook it up to some power!
Brilliant video and an excellent job getting that hammer up and ready to go again after so many years of disuse. No matter how much you have on your plate,, there has to still be time for a magical place like that, where dreams aren't just created, they're forged into harsh reality from fire and water and iron and steel! :)
+Simon B Best comment EVER! :) I feel so blessed to have the opportunity to refurbish this shop!
Nothing better than getting old machines up and running, and what's better than a power hammer!! Glad I found the channel, looking forward to seeing more videos.
It was truly a pleasure to see those vintage tools being put back into service. I am looking forward for part 2 to see these vintage tools actually working. Thanks for the restoration video gentleman..
So cool that you guys take the time to fix this stuff up so it can continue to function
Hate to see old tools just scrapped. Great job on breathing life back in to them.
I can't say I have any experience in blacksmithing but that is an awesome area you have there.
That is SO AWESOME you are able to help that museum restore their Blacksmith Shop! I wish I was closer, I would LOVE to see an exhibition like that! God Bless you for helping keep the old trades alive!
Amazing to see the life creep back into the machines! So much job satisfaction. Keep up the great work!
Wow! This is going to be really great! The close up of that anvil at 1:35 - that thing looks like it has been to war. Please keep us in the loop on all the restoration work.
+Craig Mooring I have some cool plans for that anvil.
Love to see old iron come back to life. Nice job!
+David Calhoun Thanks, we have a ton of work to di ti make the shop fully operational And I'm gonna love every second!
ARN!!!
+Miguel Simoes Parden me for asking, but what is ARN?
Possible colloquialism for iron, as in "shootin' arn?"
The Good of the Land David is correct. There's a community of people at vintagemachinery.org and owwm.org who restore old machines, and that's the name that's used to refer to old cast iron.
Enjoyed the video we need more people restoring old tools thanks for all the work you do
Cool! I love blacksmith stuff.
+Hidden Meadow Farm -The Urban Homestead Excellent!
Love the restoration videos... that's how I like to spend my off time, and it takes my mind off of the day to day grind!! keep up the great work!!

+ronadpaugh44 You Bet!
Very cool that you stepped up to restore all of their equipment. Not a surprise at all to see that power hammer come back to life, they built stuff to last back then. Good job!!
That is awesome. Makes my soul happy to see old stuff saved. They just don't make things with that quality anymore.
This would be a dream for me. I live in a town that used to be a resort town. At its peak it had 2000 residents now there are about 20. Someday I would live to build a blacksmith shop in town with orginal equipment like this power hammer.
Awesome video and project, and fabulous music. Thanks.
Love this series.
Read most of the comments seems everyone is happy to see you restore this place, same here. Get yourself some safety squints and hearing protection, that way when you are older you will both see and hear the grandkids. Love the vids.

I just found your channel. Great job on getting the machines going again.
I too are from the Tyler/Longview area. I’ve driven past that place at least 20 times in the past year. And just wished I had half of the tools in my shop that I could see from Hwy 69
That modern power hammer in the background is minty!!
I love this video. This is the most excited I've been for a CZcams video. I hope to see more of this.
+Jesse Voidswarranties Wow! THANK YOU! More to come!
I can't wait to see more. blacksmithing is something I love as much as old tools and to bring that powerhammer back is something I love to see. I watch all your videos thank you for sharing but I don't farm so I can't always apply the knowledge you share but I appreciate learning from them regardless of content.
+Jesse Voidswarranties Wow! THANKS Jesse. I'm going to be making alot of videos at Old Mill Pond. They Have tons of old machines that need restored. It should be interesting.

+Jack Penner Thanks Jack!
Wow! I have been subscribed for 25 min. and my mind is just blown away. Great job. Thanks for the video.
+rbf caf Thanks Brother! Much more to come!
THAT Kerrihard is absolutely gorgeous. I have one, you'll love it.
+Richard Chapple Awesome! What do you use to power it?
The Good of the Land I use a 1/3 hp motor from 1952. but I saw a hit and miss there. I'd try us I that
+Richard Chapple I'm going to try to get it running. It has compression and everything moves freely. Wish me luck!
The Good of the Land check out blacksmithtools on Instagram, I'm sure he has everything you need. he's in the Austin area. not luck, Grace
For rusted and seized machines, use a 50/50 mixture of acetone and automatic transmission fluid. Also get a Locknlube attachment for the grease gun. These two suggestions will make the job a lot easier.
Thank you Good of the Land, Have to say, I have been slowly collecting my own Blacksmith tools. LOVE and Enjoyed this one. Wish I was close I would come out for just the fun of helping and learning. God Bless Ya. Keep these coming.
+Perry Denman I have been searching for a good anvil at a reasonable price for years with no success. I feel vert fortunate to have been asked to help restore this shop. What man in his right mind would say no! There will be more to come!
Did i miss the back story ? How did you fall into this restoration job ? I know they asked you to help but from where and who and all that jazz
+warren michael we just got to talking and one thing led to another. I think the main reason they chose me was my lifestyle and the appreation I had for their collection. We had the same goals of refurbishment without full restoration and I have a background in restoration.
I have a friend that just gave me a nice junk of rail, it is something to start with. Now I am looking for some tongs. I restored my Blacksmith hammer I purchased at antique mall for $6.50, Handle cost me $3:95. SO Slow steps for now. Thanks for the inspiration, actually more like an answer from Prayer.
+Perry Denman I am going to make a video on converting old horse hoof nippers into tongs. You can find them everywhere and they are cheap.
I am big believer in PB Blaster. Can't tell you haw many times it's got me out of a jam;o)
Awesome video work!
+Bobby Stanley Thanks Bobby!
+Bobby Stanley Thank you!
