Jenny, I've watched your videos for a few years now and even though I am in a different zone than yours, I have learned so much. This video especially interested me as I need low maintenance/no fuss annuals. I have no idea how you have time to do 5-6 videos every week with how busy you must be with your business, but your fans appreciate all that you do and I just wanted to thank you for your informative and fun videos!
Thank you so much for your kind words of encouragement 🥰
I always have my notebook when I watch your videos! You are one of my favorite gardening girls. I learn so much from you! I am getting excited for spring and the gardening season. Keep the wonderful videos coming!
Thank you so much!
Great to know the rabbit 🐇 deer 🦌 and Japanese beetle 🪲 resistance, thanks! All three are an issue in our area! 😀
Has anyone ever told you that you look like the singer Nora Jones? . . . Lookin Good Gal! I love your channel especially when your husband works with you. You guys respect each other and speak kindly to each other. That is a rare thing nowadays. --Sheila McDade in Chattanooga, TN (Using my husband's computer 😊)
Thank you, for all of the annual suggestions. I’ll be looking into growing begonias and trailing coleus, two plants that I’ve never grown before. Also, gleaned the new use for Portulacas as sort of ground cover to help keep the weeds under control. Temps in the 70’s here and expecting some 80 days.
This is what I needed to hear with all the travel desires of my husband and my love for my gardening during it all. Thank you!!!!!
You’re so welcome!
I struggle to find time to watch all the gardening videos I’d like to, but yours is always my first one to watch. You are always a month ahead of me but it is my favorite
Can't wait for annuals season! I can attest to the vigor of those lantanas. I have a large expanse in my front sunny border, and every year I plant 3 to 5 tiny little lantanas there. They look pretty wimpy at first, but as the summer wears on, they expand to the size of shrubs, completely filling in the area, not only in width but in height. When I pull them at the end of fall, the root system is similar to a shrub -- large, deep and woody. So don't let the tiny spring size fool you!
Loved this video. You are adorable. You and Jerry are such hard workers and deserve the great life you have❤️💐
I've become pollinator obsessed because of our Mystic Spires Blue Salvia. In early December of last year, the Monarch butterflies found our eight Mystics. Truly an amazing sight. Now we want some Lantana. All of the nurseries and home improvement stores carry them here in Central Texas. This doesn't surprise me because Lantana loves the Texas heat, but it does surprise me because people are saying the non-sterile Lantana, which comprises most of the available Lantana for sale here, are invasive. The Bandana series of Lantana would be the right size for our front bed, but they aren't sterile. This is very frustrating.
Good morning GWC Family! I love watching you garden while I’m still hibernating underneath my fluffy comforter surrounded by tons of pillows with my extra hot coffee ☕️ until I get the spring time itch…I forget everything jump up get my spring clothes on run outside ready to unearth my beautiful plants and boom get smacked by Mother Nature herself with a dose of reality freezing cold air and what’s is that still snow on the ground…duh!before you can say”I digress”I’m back under my fluffy comforter shivering 🥶 AnyWho…Jenny thanks for letting me live in your shoes till mine dethaw! God Bless You for doing me such a heartwarming favor by always showing up every day and filling my head with beautiful thoughts 🥰💐🪴🌳🌺🌼
Awesome and 💯 agree! Still cold in NE Ohio too! 🥴
You have sold me on trying the surefire begonias!
I always have a plan and a shopping sit - now if I just had a UHAUL,,!
What a great video!! Thanks for breaking it all down & with pictures. And thanks for confirming the difference between Diamond Frost & Diamond Snow. As a gardener for over 40 yrs I’m still learning 😊
Aren’t we all my friend?! 😊
Hello Jenny! Love how you know your plants and all their info! Everyone that comes to your garden center will enjoy and plants there. Plus I’m sure your staff is well knowledge too. Thanks so much for teaching us about plants.
Impatiens , my granny used to call it Busy Lizzie 😅 because off its very active nature
You are such a great teacher! I have grown and used every one of the plants you talked about today and yet, I still learn something with your great knowledge. Thanks for teaching Al of us!
You are so welcome!
So MANY choices! Cannot wait!😊
Thank you for the recommendations!
🤗 thanks, Jenny, for sharing your insight with us! Once again, I took many screenshots of your annuals for my “journal! “🍃🌺🍃🌸🍃
Ha ha me too! 😊
What a great idea!

Absolutely inspirational, Jenny. Thx frm SoCal.
From Australia, nearly end of summer, love all your ideas for plants.
I am getting excited for the growing season!
Thanks Jenny. ❄️🫠💚🙃
Great information!
Thanks for the info!
Thank you! Even though we had snow flurries this morning, I’m ready to get some blooms outside. Live in 5B area.
Thank you so much for putting together this varied list. It's something for everyone.
Glad it was helpful!
Thank you for putting the names on the screen. I was able to get the correct spellings! Definite some I want to try on my screened in porch. Having so much trouble back there getting the right plants for the light.
Like all you options. You gave me some options for drought areas.
Perfect video! Love it!🎉
So glad you enjoyed it!
❤ love love love all of your videos.
Thank you❣️
A lot of great options! Very informative and helpful!
Glad it was helpful!
Thanks Jenny! I am itching to get planting! Last season I tried some of your recommendations and had the best results. Well, this year, I'm going for it. I need no fuss plants and I'm going for it this season! You've taught me so much. Thanks again!❤
Hello, Sweet Jenny❤.
Thank you for another informative session. I’m on my way shortly to simply pulling weeds! Since we’ve had a few days of rain they’ll be easier to pull out of the ground. I’ve got my iPad charged and ready so I can listen to you while I work🤗! God bless all of you!
So many flowers to choose from not enough space! Love these.
There’s Always Space for Flowers!🥰
Hi Jenny, long time subscriber here, could you make a video on plants that will do well in my tropical climate ? We do get petunias here but no tags so I would love your experience to break down how to tell the type of petunias from the leaf or flower shape that are heat and humidity reisistant. Can't wait to see it! Thank you so much! Love from Malaysia ❤
So helpful!!! Thank you
So glad!
I could watch this style of video all day, every day, on repeat for a year! LOL I’m in Texas (9a/9b) and the Lantana is a work horse for us. I loved that we can get it in many different colors now. Before (15+ years ago) it was yellow and that was it. But we used it because it can take our heat & humidity. Now we get that same stellar performance in a rainbow of options. Thank you PW!
Thanks Jenny, you always have such great information on each plant, Spring is just around the corner here in the midlands of South Carolina ❤! Next we’ll complain about the heat, right 😂. But I wouldn’t live anywhere else, some of these plants come back the next year, it depends on our winter. Happy Saturday Creekside!❤
Thank u that helped a lot🥰
Thank you for the inspiration! We are already gardening in central Texas. Def need anti bug plants except bees 🐝 We def have to lean towards native plants bc of the heat ❤
Thank you so much for this very informative video! Just wanted to let you know that Salvias are just annihilated in my 6b CT garden by slugs! Absolutely devoured and I so love Blue Suede shoes but it can be gone in just a few days even covered in DE.
Hi Jenny, this summary really helped with my wish list. I love how concise you are with respect to the growing conditions and identification of pest resistance! Now I can send my list to my local nursery. I’m also pleased that Proven Winners now delivers in Canada 🇨🇦!!!
You are so welcome!
!!! Thank You Jenny !!! I wrote down the whole list. Now I am ready to buy bunches of beautiful flowers! I noticed, when you covered begonias, you didn't mention the peach-colored double bloomed ones. I tried them last year for the first time, and they are gorgeous. I had it in a shade garden. Nonstop mocca bright orange is the name, but they were nowhere near as orange as the Sunpatiens I had the year before that.
22:41 As I'm thinking of putting Rockapulcos in my five hanging baskets on my windy north facing front porch you come in with that tip. Thanks. They'll do better on the eastern side of the house. ☺️
Thank you, Jenny. I appreciated your roundup of dependable plants. I have grown several of these and they are all a delight. The evolvulus XL with the Suncredible sunflowers is a dynamic combination near my curb. Drought tolerant. Flowers consistently.
That’s a fantastic combo!
I have used the Sunpstients in my pots on my east side of house patio. I use the fushia and the orange together for a stunning combination and a chartreuse potato vine. I am going to try some of the plant suggestions for my west side landscaping that has rock which virtually bakes everything except serums. No natter how much I water, everything seems to dry up and die by August. I live in SE Minnesota zone 4
Oh My Word! Jenny, it’s like you’re in my head. I’ve been swirling the last week on landscape design ideas. What am I going to plant where? Is it going to be fussy, drought tolerant, the right colors, etc…. I have felt so disorganized in my thoughts about the best annuals. But let me tell you, after watching this video I feel so energized to get out there and make a plan. This was so informative and necessary right now. Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! For the time you put into this video, my friend.
You are so very welcome!!! I’m glad it was helpful 🥰
Excellent presentation! I'm 1.5 hours east of you so will come to Creekside in person. I'm hoping April/May won't be too late.
That will be a great time! We look forward to seeing you 😊
I’m thinking maybe some of that chartreuse coleus & the Salvias for in front of my spectabilis bamboo!
Thank you Jenny-I needed a refresher course!

I guess I should of listened, gotta watch this again with pen and paper in hand.
would love a video on what plants japanese beetles are attracted to and what to do about it
I pre-ordered Diamond Snow Euphoria and pentas from you, because these plants are virtually impossible to find at my local nurseries. Thank you for giving me a way to get these incredible annuals.
You’re so welcome! Thank you for supporting Creekside with your order 💚
So I’ve decided the two annuals that so AMAZING for me are Impatients, and begonias, and this year that’s what I’m sticking with! I have tried and tried over the years with petunias but they are not as prolific as Impatients they just need to come out with more colours! And I also think they are not proven winners!
Thanks for this inspiration! I'm glad to know more plants Japanese Beetles do not like, and after the aphids severely invaded my Supertunias, in pots and landscape, I'm leary of that garden "staple". I'm still not sure if I need to worry about them over wintering in the ground.
Rockin salvias and Euphorbias are the easiest and my favorites but anxious to try some of these other easy care plants.
Glad it was helpful!
Thank you for the great information. Can you please tell me which ones of these plants you discussed have seeds available??
Thank you for all the tips! This is a great, helpful video. I’ve been wanting to try inpatients in the landscape but have very heavy rabbit pressure. Do you find rabbits are attracted to them?
You touched on a few annuals that don't like fertilizers. This was a revelation for me. What, impatiens don't need a weekly liquid feed like my hungry petunias?!? Could you name a quick list of annuals to NOT feed all season long? Thanks so much. I love your content, and never miss a video.
Woke up, it was fifty degrees and sunny. Now three hours later it's thirty and snowing. 😂
Hi Jenny! Are there any annuals that can handle overhead spray from lawn sprinklers? Due to the shape of my flower beds/lawn areas, the front of some of my beds get hit with the sprinkler. Your expertise would be much appreciated. Thank you!
Although they shouldn’t, puppies sometimes like to chew on plants. What recommendations do you have for a) training them to leave the plants alone, b)what plants are ok if they do chew on them, and c) what plants to avoid bc of toxicity?
Here in West TN my diamond frost gets at least 2-3 ft tall and wide.......very big.
It’s very happy in your garden!
You are radiant in pink.
It does reflect off her skin nicely! Good eye!
Thank you❣️
I’m in CLT and plan on getting all my annuals from you guys this year. When would you recommend coming to purchase annuals and then when do you recommend putting these in the ground?
Will you be selling vegetable plants as well?
What would you recommend for morning shade and afternoon sun for the hottest part of the day. I am in 9b.
This was a great video and you’ve convinced me to try different annuals besides my go-to of Supertunias! I just sure hope I can find some of these beauties in my area! I’m amazed, though that you say you water them so rarely… is that because you guys get regular rain during the summer?? Or would this be expected even during months of no rain?
It's mainly due to our weather. We get enough rain in spring and early summer to help establish strong root systems that will get the plants through the hotter, drier months.
Thank you for this concise collection of information! It will be helpful in my spring planning. Do Tuscan Sun and Tuscan Gold false sunflowers have the same resistance to Japanese Beetles that regular sunflowers do?
I didn't have any beetles on my Tuscan Gold last summer so I would say yes.
@@GardeningwithCreekside Thank you for that experience!
Jenny, spectacular! I'm ready, beds are ready. When should I begin planting w/your list, feeling totally lost in 8b? Thx as always. cgzone8
Do you know your last average frost date? If not, ask Professor Google 😉. You should be safe to plant any of these after that date; just keep an eye out for that weird late frost/freeze.
True blue?!?!
*Duke fans show up with pitchforks*
😂😂😂 I'm not into sports one bit, but loved the Tarheel color and logo!
Is there anything we can do in the Spring to kill grubs and thereby minimize Japanese Beetles? Last year, they made a mess in my garden, especially to my roses and Rose of Sharon. FYI - I do not have any grass in my garden.
Hi 👋 Jenny
SunPatiens!
Is the suncredible sunflower sterile or will it self seed? Thanks!
It is sterile
Suggestion, leave the images of plants talked about up longer. ❤
I was thinking the same thing.
it's so damp here in NS that I can't even have suncredible sunflowers, dahlias, or thunbergia.....the earwigs devour them. Does anyone else have them so bad? They're a nightmare here. I hate them so much.
🙋
The Cleome is an annual?
Yes
Still hauling buckets of water? I thought y’all had gotten a water tank to take to those areas.
