She's been hanging from the ceiling in my bedroom for quite a few years now. Maybe one day I will but a simulator and learn how to fly. But this video sold me my X7. I bought the same formula kit with the 700mm blades. It's one of my favorite decorations.

In the late sixties, I was friends with Dick Wheeler. He flew the RC helicopter in the Towering Inferno. He was one of the earliest successful r/c helicopter Pilots. He helped me fly my testors Skyhawk Galloping -Ghost rudder only, radio-controlled airplane. Now people are flying like this, thanks to men like Dick Wheeler.
To all of you who don't fly RC helis, this is 10x harder than it looks. Flying 3d takes months/years of practice and I've never seen anyone as talented as this guy

Нагрузки на основание лопастей гораздо больше. При требуемой прочности и жесткости фиксации лопасти в заданном положении невозможно сделать такую быструю их восприимчивость к управлению. У этого вертолетика наклон лопастей на противоположный меняется за доли секунды. Если так повернуть настоящую лопасть, она скрутиться. По похожей причине, например, насекомые только мелкие летают шустро, а крупные птицы летают совсем не так, как насекомые. При этом мелкая птица, колибри, летает, как насекомые.

The batteries last from 4 to 7 minutes before recharge, but the blades need positive pitch to stay airborne and so press the grass away with a cushion of air.
they actually do not reverse direction at all. the blades themselves change their angle. like a real helicopter, the blades stay a constant speed. the blades tint up or down to create lift. unlike a real helicopter, you can do insane tricks like this in small scale 👍
This is a collective pitch heli, the blades change pitch and therefore you can also hover with heli on back. Just google for "collective pitch helicopter" and I am pretty sure you will find loads of information on the aerodynamics and the technology of these 3d helicopters.
т.е. именно угловых ускорений (гироскопов), датчики скоростей это акселерометры, Тарек ими точно не пользуется ;) - быстро писал. Т.е. стоит самый обычный ФБЛ со стабилизацией по 3-м осям. АФАИК конкретно на этом вертолете - IKON, Тарек на нем в Москве демо-полеты летал в прошлом месяце. Но пля же не "датчики определяющие положение препятствий!!!!!!
честно скажу - дофига ;) а если учитывать, что такой вертолет стоит в районе 1.500-2.000 долларов, и среднее падение обходится от 100 до 500, то хобби это весьма не дешевое :(

На последних кадрах ответ. Он "на ходу" вертит лопасть вокруг оси - в итоге меняется направление тяги
Все верно, кроме того что я бы не говорил что невозможно что-то сделать. Сейчас технологии не позволяют, уверен что в будущем это будет реализовано.
