Hi Ivana, I am so happy that you mentioned acrylic yarns. The topic is being avoided mostly or the review of any acrylic yarn is not so good. However there are very good quality acrylic yarns available that are perfect for knitting (winter) garment. I knit a lovely sweater for my 14 year old nephew with a wool and alpaca blend yarn but unfortunately he doesn’t wear it, he finds it very itchy. So, I am going to knit him another jumper with an acrylic blend yarn, that will be very soft to his skin and it will also make my sister happy, as she can wash it in the washing machine 😀.
I agree with you. Wool and camelids are lovely and still my favorite, but I think every yarn has it's place and a perfect project waiting for it. ❤️

For some reason after years of wearing wool knitwear, my forehead has become sensitive to wool and mohair. I bought a ball of Stylecraft Special DK, 100% acrylic and knitted Natasja Hornby hat pattern, Birgitz, it knitted up beautifully, is keeping its shape and it does not irritate me… have bought more for 2 more hats.

I’ve only ever used Stylecraft Special DK for crochet blankets. Beautiful colour range and great for gifting because of ease of laundering. I hadn’t really considered knitting jumpers with it, but I am loving that range with the nepps! Great idea for the shrugs, and also for everyday jumpers too. And also they don’t break the bank! Thank you for reminding us that sometimes it’s ok to knit with acrylic. For any UK viewers, I can recommend Woolwarehouse who have a great range of Stylecraft. I’m not sure how it would work for you Ivana with postage and taxes. ❤
I am also very happy with the yarn and am seriously thinking of making some sweaters out of it. I get it from Love Crafts because their price includes custom duties, so I don't have to pay anything extra when the package arrives. ❤️

I made a winter beach cardi in the denim neap dk and it’s lovely and washed lovely too I ve got the grey still to use am allergic to all wool

Always love to discover new to me yarns! Wonderful information and, perfect timing! I decided to knit a number of shrugs and 2 ponchos to give as gifts to all the women in my family ( I am blessed with numerous aunts❤ ) . I love the story behind the shrugs and fell in love with Amy's red poncho last year. I feel like playing with yarn combos all summer and some easy knitting is just what the doctor ordered to keep me out of trouble😊 ( I have way too many WIPS and NO finished objects in a large tote labeled "trouble"). Also, I think these knits are a way for my loved ones to wear a hug from me whenever they need one! I grew up in a very close-knit extended family, but we are all spread wide and far now😢. As I knit , my memories and heart felt emotions get knitted into each stitch. I can't think of a better gift, except maybe a handspun blanket😂.... but those are on 10 year timelines, lol!

I did try Wool Warehouse but I usually use Love Crafts because my custom duties are included in their price so I don't have to pay anything additional once the parcel arrives. ❤️
