  • In this relaxing virtual bike ride, we are exploring the Detroit Riverwalk, rated the #1 Riverwalk in the USA. The Detroit Riverwalk consists of a three-and-a-half miles of the east riverfront, spans from Joe Louis Arena to Gabriel Richard Park and is more than 80 percent complete. The completed portions of the east riverfront, along with its sister rails-to-trails greenway, the Dequindre Cut, are populated with approximately three million visitors annually who come to walk, run, bike, spend time with family and friends and take advantage of the quality of life opportunity a revitalized riverfront provides.Attractions along the east riverfront include parks, plazas, pavilions, pathways and open green space, all connected by the ever popular RiverWalk.

    =TRAVEL TIPS=
#1: We parked on Atwater St. at near Cullen Plaza (1401 Franklin St.)
#2: Bike Rentals are 2 or 4 hours. (2 hours was more than enough time)
#3: Wheelhouse Detroit Bike Rentals offers free locks. Take one just incase you decide to stop an explore
#4) The Westend of the trail was closed at the Riverfront Tower Condos. It appears construction of the trail which goes over the river is complete. This section should be opening by the end of 2023.
#5) The trail does not end at Milliken State Park! You need to continue east on Atwater St., past the Aretha Franklin Amphitheater. The trail picks up at the Robert Valade Park and continues to My Elliot Park. Check Google Maps to understand how the trail flows.

    =THE BIKE RIDEZ STORY & MISSION=
We are e-bike explorers! This channel is continuing to evolve. The current focus is the scenic beauty and peaceful landscape of the trails we ride, not the actual mountain bike riding or e-bikes we are ridding. Although we thoroughly love riding our eMTBs for exercise and adventure, bike riding is our primary form of meditation and stress relief. Our bike rides allow for a few hours without our phones where we can stay focused on being in the moment. Best of all we get to share with you some of the best and most spectacular scenic bike trails in the United States. At BikeRidez, it's not always about the ride, it's about the view!

I believe the new bridge will tie in with the Riverfront path. If that's true the path will cross the bridge into Canada.

Cool little "history lesson" I guess you can say.. the Dequinder Cut that you rode through used to be a decrepit nasty alley for MILES... it's where we used to go to do graffiti, all the up to eastern market.. every surface was covered in graffiti from the top of the buildings to the bottom.. it's beautiful now.. but some of the best graffiti artists in Detroit used to tag there.. Turtle, Army, you name them they were there!! Cool video though .. I live 5 minutes from the Renaissance Center and didn't even know there was new buildings going up there.. LOL..
What did you think of it??
