Boomer here! I was 15 years old in 1975 when this movie came out, The town Cinema, end of school week, Friday,12 midnight. Some of the best years of my life!
My dog is a Pekingese and his wispy blonde ears make him look exactly like Riffraff. He has a cat tree in a second story window that I leave open so he can look out and people/doggo watch while I’m at work. Whenever I pull out my driveway he watches me and I imagine him singing riffraff’s solo 😂😂 makes it less sad to leave him 💕
I love how the 😄🎵Over at the Frankenstein Place🎶 and 😄🎵Burning in the Fireplace🎶 chorus has a choir-like sound to it in the film. In my opinion, it's sounds beautiful. 😊
Flow Morpheus Slow! Morpheus is the Greek name for the God of dreams... but otherwise thanks for lyrics... it is 'nights dreaming' (i thought it was my dreaming) and i think you're right that it is sun and light, not sunlight! Ty
@@tylercooper9233 No, it's Morphia. The song is an obvious reference to Morphine/Opiates. Break it down; "The darkness" - Opium/heroin often came in a brown powered or black tar form. I love this movie just as much as when I went to it in the theaters in the 70's when it was a huge audience participation movie. Everyone dressed like characters from the movie and performed the tracks as well during the movie. It was something to see and enjoy.
my mom had a similar experience! she saw it in a down town Toronto theatre at midnight with her friends! talk about a late night double feature picture show
I watched this movie when I was very young and I didn't remember anything else from this movie expect Riff Raff standing at that window singing. I don't remember time warp. I don't remember sweet transvestite. I remembered Riff Raff's costume and voice.
Brad and Janet must’ve been struggling not to shiver too violently as this was being shot because it obviously was frigidly cold in the soaking fake rain.
In the velvet darkness of the blackest night Burning bright, there's a guiding star No matter what or who, who you are There's a light (Over at the Frankenstein Place) There's a light (Burning in the fireplace) There's a light, light in the darkness of everybody's life The darkness must go down the river of nights dreaming Flow morphia slow, let the sun and light come streaming Into my life, into my life There's a light (Over at the Frankenstein Place) There's a light (Burning in the fireplace) There's a light, light in the darkness of everybody's life
Both Brad and Janet are seeking for their destination. But with different reasons. Janet is ready for an individual Journey, while Brad is hoping for a couple Journey.
Cast recordings of the musical include Brad’s verse. Barry never recorded it for the movie, which is sad because this is possibly the best version of the song (next to the Roxy cast).
Nineteen 'thumbs down'. I am so sorry. This means that at least nineteen people are unhappy and cannot even find joy in something that is full of joy. I cry for you, and I truly mean this.
This song could easily be a recurring leitmotif for a "Promethean: The Created" chronicle. There's a light in the darkness of everyone's Saturnine Night.
Love the Crystal Dome on the roof, if only he knew a few years later Richard O'Brien would present one of the greatest game shows of all time The Crystal Maze.
i miss those simpler times
Best movie ever.
Just took my son to see this over NYE in SF, he had no idea what is was about, he absolutely loved it.
Riff Raff's solo is probably the single biggest highlight of this film for me.
LOL
Yeah, screw those two idiots outside, they don't know anything!😄
tassiered totally agree 👍🏼
agreed! I've always loved that bit!
thats where i fell in love with his voice...
A perfect song for the 20th century
One of my favorite parts
The most underrated of the RHPS songs.
I truly agree

My favorite of the bunch.
Yeh i reckon this is my favourite song from the movie. Beautiful music, lyrics, vocals.. too good!
um i know right??
Susan Sarandon's voice was just perfect for this song. It's so lovely.
I love this song so much even with janit and riff raff

Okay, for real, Riff Raff’s verse is the most beautiful part of this whole musical.
His voice is amazing
Agree, it gets me every time!
Richard O'Brien had great falsettos
Word.
Nah the part where he busts in during the floor show is the most epic. "You're mission is a failure; you're lifestyle's too extreme"
Riff Raff's solo has been stuck in my head for so many years! The music in this film is genius
I Love it
Me too.! I've had the soundtrack stolen from me in a both a car break-in and a house beak-in. They can't steal the internet though.
1 week and 3 days to halloween 2022
Everyone here knows that Riff Raff wrote the whole film/show, right?
Richard OBrien is a genius
Yes
Well they do now
He was the host of Crystal Maze.
My late husband and kids use to sing and dance to this. Preteens. Lol now in their 40’s

Amen. I have no earthly idea why someone decided to dub themselves in over those lines in this video.
Pures Glück ❤️
Riff Raff was so unrated 💕 every Halloween I love watching this movie
Favorite song of the movie... wish it lasted forever:)
So many good songs on this Soundtrack including this one.
This is my favorite song from the movie
I love this song
Still a beautiful song after all these years!
The darkness must go down the river of nights dreaming

Yes Riff Raff solo made me fall in love with this film lots of years ago and still one the best part of this part of this masterpiece

Yeah just went to a shadow cast on Saturday, can confirm people still do this.

there a small 1 theater cinema near my town in CT that does 2-3 showings a year and it's so much fun... we all dress up!!

Brad and Janet must’ve been struggling not to shiver too violently as this was being shot because it obviously was frigidly cold in the soaking fake rain.
You'd think they wouldn't have to wait long for rain in England.
Susan Sarandon later got pneumonia during the swimming pool climax.
At least they’re wearing clothes in this scene
Poor Susan. Her mascara wasn’t waterproof and irritated her eyes.
Riff Raff's solo should've been longer.
I have the words to riff raffs solo on a tee shirt. bloody love it.

I wish there was still some Friday night rocky somewhere

I love how the credits are empty
I got both this and “I’ll Have A Blue Christmas Without You” stuck in my head at the same time and realized they sound kind of similar.
Susan Sarandon and Barry Bostwick had such tight harmonies, then Richard O'Brien playing that sweet guitar...
The reason you brought a newspaper to the midnight screening every friday night :-)
Susan Sarandon. Legend.
My favorite selection from this iconic cult classic!
If the darkness is referring to pain and misery, then I'm still searching for the light. :(
This song is so catchy I love it❤️❤️
Riff Raff's pretty voice tho ;w;
