These are easily my favorite parts of this piece! I really don't think I can begin to describe the feeling of pure happiness when I hear this work! I'm truly in tears as I write this comment down at this very moment!!!!! Truly magnificent!
Hail to you my Great Lady Fanny! The highest of blessing from God be delivered unto you, most wondrous superlative of composers! You are amongst the greatest of composers that have ever lived and you have indeed left your mark and a great legacy behind on the Romantic Period!

Man merkt der Komposition an, dass in der Familie Mendelsohn die Musik von J.S. Bach gut bekannt war. Übrigens: Schade, dass Kantoreien landauf/landab sich immer an gängiger Musikliteratur probieren u. so schöne Kompositionen wie diesen Lobgesang der Schwester des Felix übersehen. Also: Bravo für die Aufführung!
2017 wurde dieses Werk, zusammen mit Felixs Lobgesang (Sinfonie Nr. 2) in Schneeberg in der Kirche St. Wolfgang aufgeführt.
Man darf doch einmal feststellen, dass das Werk von Fanny Hensel sich qualitativ nicht vergleichen lässt mit dem ihres Bruder. Man denkt zwar anfangs: "o, das sind aber schöne harmonische und melodische Einfälle. Die Frau hat ein hervorragendes kompositorisches Handwerk. Klingt wie Mendelssohn. ". Aber bei allem Respekt: dann fehlt eben doch die vollendete Formgestaltung ihres Bruders, der große Zug, die psychologische Stringenz und auch die Tiefe des Ausdrucks und das große Genie. Musikhistorisch sicherlich interessant, aber will man als Musiker viel Zeit mit diesen doch eher zweitrangigen Werken verbringen, wo doch ein Menschenleben nicht ausreicht, sich mit dem Besten gründlich genug zu beschäftigen?
