The wild thing is, Steve Davis was leading 8 0 before Dennis had this amazing comeback.

I'm glad you enjoyed that! I was one of the people that recommended it when you started reacting to snooker it was unbelievable that this was the first time steve (interesting) davis was beaten in professional snooker

This and Ronnie's 147 are THE two most famous moments in snooker.

Back in the day when Steve Davis was the goat. Got his horns clipped in this final of course, but Davis was very much the man to beat.

Great reaction Jay, Steve Davis dominated Snooker in the 80's ranked number 1 for most of it so this was a real upset. Seems weird even to us in the U.K but Snooker was probably the most popular sport at the time that was televised, more so than football, Cricket and Rugby etc. Dennis was/ is a very loveable character. Davis was like a robot during most of his career but his personality really came through towards the end of his career, great sense of humour, very self depreciating, and later became a soul & rock DJ.

Something like 18 million people were watching this on a Bank Holiday Monday in May 1985. Well, I say Monday, it finished around half past midnight on the Tuesday!

6:50 As Dennis himself put it - "It was the biggest twitch ever seen at the world championship". His head shot up, his elbow jutted out, and the black missed the pocket by so far that he almost fluked it into the pocket he was leaning over.

Steve was trying to cut the black ball into the corner pocket but over cut it or under cut it leaving a sitter to Denis..

The glasses were custom built so that when Dennis is down on the cue ball, he can look up to the object ball 12 feet away without moving

Hi, readers. Hoping you're all great. :)
Dennis's glasses have the arms at the bottom of the frame so the top edge of the frame doesn't obscure the object ball on long shots.

    I was Steve fan.

I hate all the coughing, i often turn the volume down. Strange how after CoVid lifted and the audiences came back that nobody coughed for a couple of weeks and then it gradually returned.Just goes to show there's no need for it.

Following this you should watch the rematch that they did in 2010, it’s a good laugh, especially now you’d get the context
