  • There are seven continents, but nine highest peaks on them, depending on your definition of a continent. Is Australia a continent or is it part of Oceana or Australasia? What the heck is Australasia and Oceana? What are the boundaries of Asia? Are the Caucus Mountains in Europe? These are all questions without clearly correct answers.
    Easiest to Hardest
    1. Mt. Kosciusco (Australia) 2228m 7310ft
    2. Mt. Kilmanjaro (Africa) 5895m 19340ft
    3. Mt. Elbrus (Europe) 5642m 18510ft
    4. Mont Blanc (Europe) 4810m 15780ft
    5. Mt. Aconcaugua (South America) 6962m 22840ft
    6. Denali (North America) 6194m 20320ft
    7. Carstensz Pyramid (Oceana/Australasia) 4884m 16025ft
    8. Vinson Masif (Antartica) 4897m 16065ft
    9. Mt. Everest (Asia) 8850m 29035ft
Least Costly to Most Costly (guided)
    1. Mt. Kosciusco (Australia) 2228m 7310ft $300
    2. Mt. Kilmanjaro (Africa) 5895m 19340ft $3000
    3. Mont Blanc (Europe) 4810m 15780ft $3500
    4. Mt. Elbrus (Europe) 5642m 18510ft $5000
    5. Mt. Aconcaugua (South America) 6962m 22840ft $5000
    6. Denali (North America) 6194m 20320ft $6500
    7. Carstensz Pyramid (Oceana/Australasia) 4884m 16025ft $18,000
    8. Vinson Masif (Antartica) 4897m 16065ft $48,000
    9. Mt. Everest (Asia) 8850m 29035ft $60,000
These are rough estimates and prices may vary. Remember success rates are less than 50% for most summits and if you have a guided trip with no flexibility its schedule your chances of summitting are less than averages for the mountain. Thus, a typical seven summits campaign will pay the guided price twice on average. If the guided price is $150,000, expect to pay $300,000 because of weather, mountain conditions, sickness, injury, fatigue, logistics issues that prevent summit success. Costs don't include airfare to the nearest cities of the mountains or the cost of personal gear.

The way that I would define the border between Europe and Asia is by the Ural Mount Range.

I learned that some geography classes in other countries teach people that Denali & Aconcagua are on the same continent.

    Nice one.
I stranded 2020 in Australia during Corona
And so I started the 7 summits with
    Mt. K
2022 I continued with Kilimanjaro, which was anyway a childhood dream to do
Now I am going on a Aconcagua Expedition 2023/2024
If I success that I will go next for Elbrus and maybe Denali.
If I then would really go for the 7 peaks my next one would be Everest and the last one Mtm Vinson

      Thx I will report.
BY the way Aconcagua is comparable to the cost of Kilimanjaro, because the expedition takes nearly 3 times longer. The cost is also 3 times more.
A big factor is the gear you need
The Kilimanjaro you could climb in street wear. Here you need double boots and expedition wear.
I pay 4100 dollars plus 680 for the permit
      17-19 days
For Kilimanjaro I paid about 1500 dollars plus 300.dollar tips for 7 days (which is more 5 days and 2 half days )
For Kili I didn't need to buy equipment
For Aconcagua it's about minimum 1000 dollars. ( if you have already some of the stuff or rent it )
But yiou can use it for other expeditions or resale it
